We all must face judgement either at the foot of the cross or when we leave this body for the last time. This work is dedicated to a dear friend of mine named Joy. Her husband has been in the VA hospital and she tells me his liver has failed among so many other ailments. She and he know they have nothing to fear from facing judgment since they are both Christians. We need not fear God when we put our trust in Him. This art is a combination of Apophysis, Photomatrix, Photoshop and Micrografx. It inspired me to include these powerful promises from scripture: Ro 5:18: Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. / Ro 5:19: For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. / Ro 5:20: Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: / Ro 5:21: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1John 3:16: Hereby perceive we the love of God, because He laid down His life for us: Acts 16:31:... I was working with a combination of an image I got several years ago from a newspaper story about the shroud of Turin. The original image was very poor and I had to recreate the face using the newspaper image as a model. Then I worked with I worked with Micrografx, Photoshop and Apophysis to create the finished work. I experimented a little and got several works that I really like. I hope you enjoy them. Although we do not know what Christ really looked like because the Hebrew people did not draw or paint images of anyone because it was against their religion, we do have ideas we have formed based upon legend and theories that have been passed down through time and have become a generally accepted image that comes to mind when we think of Christ. I will be posting several that are part of this series and they are all inspired by scripture from the Holy Bible. This is the seventh of nine in the series. In Revelation we read of John’s experience and the visions he had while imprisoned there for teaching people about Christ and salvation. An angel appeared to John and then he was met face to face by Jesus Christ Himself transformed into His true visage, one of majesty and awesome power. John was taken up into Heaven and shown visions of things that were past, things that were present and also the future was revealed to him. He was told to write these visions down for future generations. He was shown the judgement that was coming upon the Earth and its inhabitants. Re 1:9: ¶ I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. / Re 1:10: I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, / Re 1:11: Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last:... / Re 1:12: And I turned to see the voice that spake with me… / Re 1:14: His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; Re 1:7: Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. / Re 1:8: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Re 14:6: ¶ And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, / Re 14:7: Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Femme Fatal' -- Giver Taker Provider of Ill Begotten Impropriety
by Symmetry44Set the flame against him / perpetuated by winds set forth / by breath breathed in anger and anguish / for surely he is pinnacle / to your …
This was written for a friend who has recently split from her husband and in her anger and haste now presumes to know all and one men alike. / She now lives in utter disenchantment through the eyes of dismay and thus chooses to project such anger forth unto all unsuspecting would be lovers. / If only she would simply close her eyes to anger and open her heart to love again no doubt the very emotions she claims no man could possibly hold are the same ones she currently withholds while exuding the same inner ugly child she herself has set her course against. When we, men and women alike presume to know what it takes to be the other in anger and thus project said anger outwardly are we doing nothing more than exuding our own. Hence, this particular piece was written for her through the eyes of an unbiased witness who happens to love her dearly.

Judging Talent
by ArlettaHow is it that one judges a talent? / A writer staggers in and floors many / Flooding tales of life not well lived / Oh they pour in, drop b…
Just a thought … I was reading a book wherein on the back it said that the author was a writer of staggering talent. Now, she is talented, I grant you; and I begrudge her not her accolades. But the truth is that if it was a fictional story, made up whole cloth, even then it would not be staggering.. but it would be closer. I mean, the story is staggering.. but it is based on the truth of her life and that is what is staggering. Which gave me pause, knowing that .. for I would hardly say she is more talented than Douglas Adams or Stephen King or Georgette Heyer ever were, or even as good in my personal opinion, and she’d never give Steinbeck or Shakespeare a run for their money… it is simply that the story is powerful, then, apparently, that she herself has been acclaimed as staggering. The tale of Ghandi is staggering, and he told some parts of it, but it hardly made him a writer, journalist, film producer, etc. did it? And if he had done those things on his own? Well, the story would still have been staggering, but it still would not have made him anything but what he was. So that is what I was wondering about, talent not Ghandi, and why. It is not that she could not be a staggering writer. It is that to determine it you’d have to see something she wove with words all on her own, not just in the retelling of little events that happened, in the rehashing of old letters. That’s all.

Last in a series of 6 oil paintings of the Chinese Zodiac done in the style of Tarot cards by American Artist, Sienna Morris in Guangdong, China. The Chinese often show the zodiac as couples, complementing each other with their respective faults and strengths. This piece shows the negative aspects on the top and the positive on the bottom. On the top, the Boar’s negative attribute of procrastination and laziness is exaggerated while the dog’s impomptu judgment and isolationism is so great that he is willing to tear himself apart to protect himself, baring his teeth and ready to fight. / On the Positive side, the knowledge hungry and caring Boar reads a story to the loyal dog who has protectively wrapped himself around the Boar during this moment in their unbreakable friendship.

Untitled
by steelwidowIf I were the earth I’d purge you from my crusty under belly & wipe myself clean with my dish-rag of the universe!
This is about a person who goes from being wealthy to having to get a job and how they feel about how they are treated by people that he/she used to be like, or rather who he/she used to be around. When what goes around comes around, he/she figures out who the real world works and isn’t happy with it. AT ALL! I don’t see an end to the misery of him/her anytime soon… Do we say that they deserve it? I think not. Do not judge lest ye be judged… Do not thrive off of the sadness of others lest someone else thrives off of yours.
