My rendition of the famous painting by Spanish artist Diego Velazquez painted in my early twenties. / The original painting was intended as a study in preparation for his masterpiece ‘Pope Innocent X’. / Juan de Pareja was actually a slave of Morrocan decent, a notable artist in his own right, and assisted Velazquez in his work. / This painting 55×65cm, oil on paper on masonite.
A gnarled stump washed up on the beach as a storm drives the normally calm waters ashore at Neptune Beach in Northern Washington.
This is a compilation image of a flock of Canada geese and the sun setting behind the San Juan mountains in southern Colorado.
A colorful sunset as the tides came in near LArrabee State PArk looking out toward the San Juan Islands of Washington
Esta camiseta pretende inmortalizar la frase del rey de España “¿Por qué no te callas?”, tan famosa estos días, con este diseño que hace un juego de palabras con la inigualable Maria Callas.
Goosenecks State PArk at Sunrise on a November morning. The San Juan River covers 5 miles total while moving West only 1 mile as it bends back and forth through the sandstone of Southern Utah
The warm light of a Cold November Dawn illuminates the sandstone of Canyonlands National Park and Mesa Arch with the La Sal Mountains hiding in the distance.
The dunes are the product of the wind and rain eroding the San Juan and Sangre de Cristo Mountains that ring the San Luis Valley. For more information visit Great Sand Dunes National Park & Preserve / Mosca, Colorado Sold large matted print at local gallery

The break in the rainy day at sunset coupled with high tide being driven by the wind created some surging waves for me to use in the foreground and this gnarled limb or stump washed ahore at the right time for me to add it to the composition. Taken at Neptune Beach here in the great state of Washington.

From the San Juan Islands while whale watching for Orcas. This was taken with a crappy camera so the Quality isn’t the best but it is still high enough to be enjoyable :) / Red-Orange colors are edited.. or practically fake Cokin ;P.

One of our family’s favorite vacation spots is Pagosa Springs in Colorado. We love soaking in the hot springs pools, play in the swimming pool or in San Juan River, go fishing, or just enjoy the nature and all the beauty around. Here’s a capture from the Hot Springs pool in Pagosa, taken early in the morning.
Famous and loved by the locals.. I always go for a visit when I am in Old San Juan , Puerto Rico . this place is famous for only men attending yu :) woooooo hoo!.. AND for the mallorcas.. and a mallorca is simply puertto rican bread grilled .. while hot , they squish it and sprinkle powdered sugar on it.. and serve with fresh butter….. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. A Puerto Rican Sunday morning institution, La Bombonera offers huge mallorcas and other baked items. It’s a well-kept secret, however is its ability to prepare excellent meals consistently. La Bombonera attracts huge crowds on weekends. Be sure to try the Puerto Rican coffee. Housed in an historical building, this operation’s colonial décor provides for great atmosphere and a chance to mix and mingle with the locals.
Forms made by the ocean water when it reaches the sand and then goes back to the ocean. This movement of the waves leaves forms and patterns in the sand and they last just a few seconds. I was lucky to be there and capture this forms. Image taken at Isla Verde Beach, San Juan, Puerto Rico – Caribbean / Sea and Sand Forms was Featured in SEA group! /
Castillo de San Cristobal or “Saint Christopher Castle” in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico is the largest fortification ever built by the Spanish in the New World. Declared a World Heritage site in 1983, this massive fortification covers 27 acres. This is a view from the fort of what is called the Devil’s Sentry Box. It is the oldest surviving element of San Cristobal, a lonely lookout post renown in Puerto Rican legend as the “Garita del Diablo”. Sentries manning this post regularly shouted “Alerta” during their watch to communicate with other soldiers and keep themselves awake during the long nights. This view cannot be readily seen from the fort. I was strolling along the top of the fort and could hear the roaring of the surf below but could not see it because of the high parapet walls. I decided to precariously climb out onto one of the openings where the cannons would shoot from. When I got to the edge I was struck by this wonderful sight. And as an added bonus there happened to be a person sitting on the wall.
