This is my first Music Inspired Art, this was a lot more difficult than you might think for so uncomplicated a scene. Please listen to this song, Let Joy and Innocence Prevail I can hardly bear to hear it ever since 9/11… Comments are of course welcome. “Let Joy and Innocence Prevail” I tell you of a girl, her husband was a soldier, / Gone to war in some strange country far away; / No word had come to her, but the rumors of great battles fought, / And dying in their thousands, and the world full of fear; As the day would turn to evening, she would light a pure white candle, / And place it in a window bright from where it could be seen, / As she placed it in the window softly without thinking, / She said, “Let this burning candle be a beacon” Let joy and innocence prevail, / Let joy and innocence prevail, / Believe that love will never fail, / Let joy and innocence prevail! And one night, asleep, / She dreamed she saw her husband fall / In a great white cavalry charge, And waking in tears, / She saw the candle burning in the window / She still had hope; And through the window / A man in the distance, / But as he came closer, / She saw he was a stranger; The stranger said, “I bring a message from a general, / A captain has been wounded, his life hangs by a thread; / He calls out your name, and he wishes you to come to him, / But the journey is a hard road, and you may be afraid” And she laughed and said, “No road could be too hard, for I am fearless, / A captain and a husband, I have gained this bright new day” / And she said with all her heart, she would fly to be beside him. / And her love would heal his wounds, restore him to her; Let joy and innocence prevail, / Let joy and innocence prevail, / Believe that love will never fail, / Let joy and innocence prevail! Let joy and innocence prevail, / Let joy and innocence prevail, / Believe that love will never fail, / Let joy and innocence prevail!

Though this is far from a true B&W image, I thought the title was well suited. This original capture was in color, shot of Mount Shasta in Northern CA in September, 2007…...inverted and the data converted to B&W…..some final editing was done for the finished effect. December 2007, I was asked by friends, who were expecting their first child out here in Riyadh to capture the pregnancy in my own unique way… A trip out to the desert followed and the rest, as they say, is history. Nearly 6 months after the arrival of little Kennedy, we were back out at the desert yesterday re-shooting, plus One! With searing temperatures reaching into the 40s first thing in the morning over here in summer, this was a shoot that lasted all of 15 minutes… I’ve never clicked so furiously at my shutter and bare feet have never gotten so hot!

Featured In The Group: Water Media Watercolour Abstract. / Windsor and Newton paints on Arches paper. / Tried this all different ways and I keep seeing more angles and images so I decided NOT to add anything else to it.
Pattern that repeat itself, as part of an abstract landscape and universal magnetism , will lead to conclusion that is self evident. Even though it seems that ” the hidden is bigger then the known / exposed ” רב הניסתר על הגלוי / הידוע” All that I should know – I know. One way, another way… To the golden path. Watercolour. 70CM X 100CM. I find zichron Ya’aakov, Israel.. a very inspiring place for me to visit. Every time I visit there, I take photos . In 2001 during a vacation there, I took many photos for my inspiration, as well as sat there , to paint. Since then every now and then, I feel myself inspired to make more artworks inspired by the landscape of Zichron. I made many artworks, in several techniques. This work started in 2001 ( using about 14 photos to build the composition), somehow, I didn’t finished it until the last weekend. Usually I prefer to work and finish a work ( 99% – I finish a work ). I so much enjoyed working on it.. As I almost finished it, I felt strong urge to go take photos of these Canna flowers… YET, I remembered that the last time, I was at Zichron, that particular place… I could not reach those Canna flowers because of rebuilding there. BUT… I SIMPLY HAD TO take photos of Canna yesterday :) and so, I find the way, to find other Cannas… :))... And that’s just a bit about how inspiration is LIVING And recreating itself inside of ME. For me one field of INSPIRATION, inspired another field of ART. Thanks for viewing, reading and commenting… May we ALL have a delightful day… Love, Nira.
Early morning as I was walking around Kaban Village in remote Nigeria, I noticed children drawing water from a well. This was a long way off,so I used my Sigma 50-500 HSM lens, with a 2x Converter. I was amazing it came out so good, as I did not have my tripod. Normally any shake would blur the shot. After I took several shots, I stood and listened to them laughing and pretending not to notice me. Then the Holy Spirit brought a verse of Scripture to my thoughts. / “Therefore with Joy shall we draw water from the wells of salvation”. Gods well of salvation is so deep and never runs dry. You will find everything you need or ever shall need in Gods well of salvation.
