  • Clematis is a genus of mostly vigorous climbing lianas, with attractive flowers. Some species are shrubby, and some others are herbaceous perennial plants. They are found throughout the temperate regions of both hemispheres, and also in mountains in the tropics. The cool temperate species are deciduous, but many of the warmer climate species are evergreen. This incredible curl was taken at the Eden Project, Cornwall

  • Early morning as I was walking around Kaban Village in remote Nigeria, I noticed children drawing water from a well. This was a long way off,so I used my Sigma 50-500 HSM lens, with a 2x Converter. I was amazing it came out so good, as I did not have my tripod. Normally any shake would blur the shot. After I took several shots, I stood and listened to them laughing and pretending not to notice me. Then the Holy Spirit brought a verse of Scripture to my thoughts. / “Therefore with Joy shall we draw water from the wells of salvation”. Gods well of salvation is so deep and never runs dry. You will find everything you need or ever shall need in Gods well of salvation. • This is a little girl from the Lake Titicaca region in Bolivia. / Apparently children in this area develop very red cheeks because they don’t dry their faces properly after washing – and the cold wind damages the wet skin.

  • I stood in the snow behind the tripod, so quietly that one bird landed on my lens! What joy. I couldn’t actually say we bonded, but I was thrilled. I’ve had birds land on my hat, but never one that I could see so closely. Featured in Alaska ~ Beyond Your Dreams – Thank you! Shot in RAW. Slight curves adjustment, at the suggestion of Eivor. The snowfall made it necessary to bump up the ISO to 320. I tried ISO 640 at one point, but those looked a tad grainy. This is a male Common Redpoll in today’s snowfall. Note snowflake on his back. Our area has so far eluded Mt. Redoubt’s harsh volcanic particles, although Alaska Airlines and FedEx had to suspend all flights in and out yesterday. Nikon D200 / Nikon 70-300mm 4.5-5.6G VR / 300mm / f/5.6 / 1/1250 / ISO 320 / -0.33ev / manual exposure mode / Manfrotto tripod One of the faster Redpolls: /

  • Lovers’ Point, Pacific Grove, CA…, shot on a recent trip to the Monterey Peninsula….06/03/09 12:50 AM low tide and a clear day……the fog burnt off by about 9:00 AM and the rest of the day was gorgeous. This image is taken North of Lovers’ Point from Ocean View Drive….in this shot you can see the Old Bathhouse….(the darker structure directly above the beach on the left) renovated a few times over, but still where I recall the original bathhouse that I remember from my childhood. The ocean was calm, not a wave breaking…the cool refreshing sea breeze was a nice feeling after the recent heat wave in Northern California. / / /
