Next to the toaster there was evidence that someone, at some time, had had a thing for Brazil
A worker at Sandakan Airport, Borneo, deep in conversation amidst a stained glass wall of colour and under a red bubble to boot! I love the quiet moments that can transform into something else when you travel to foreign lands. The worker becomes an integral part of the landscape: blending seamlessly to form a life mosaic.

This image had been sitting in my folder for quite some time. Waiting. Amazingly, God in His perfect timing has directed this passage in Scripture. Genesis 12:1-5 The LORD has said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation / and I will bless you; / I will make your name great, / and you will be a blessing. / I will bless those who bless you, / and whoever curses you I will curse; / and all people on earth / will be blessed through you.” So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

views of the pyramids are everywhere you look in Cairo. We were stunned at just how close the city had sprawled up to the base of these incredible monuments to man’s creativity and self-obsession. Straight from the camera. /
ink drawing and golden digital colors-— / first-things challenge -ancient egypt wisdom music:—-—-- / Enchanted Egypt 1 / here is the very good description of user TertiusOculusOris / and the musicians / Title: Enchanted Egypt 1 / Album: Enchanted Egypt / Artist: Hossam Ramzy Phil Thornton / Year: 2004 “The first part of the title track. A short Qanun ‘Taqsim’ introduces an enchanting melody that is haunting and emotional. Based on the Wahda Kebira (meaning the Big One). The melody turns around several times, shifting to a 7/4 while the Accordion improvises in a solitary way to express feelings of yearning to the old and ancient knowledge that is long forgotten through the millennia.” ~The Musicians.
