I have some photos on display that were taken in North Korea, and I thought it only fair that I include the story that goes along with them. I entered this in a travel writing competition recently (it didn’t win) and I’m posting it here so at least some one might get some enjoyment out of it! Not technically related to ‘Japanfluence’, but I thought it might be interesting to a few of you Japonophiles – here’s looking at you TBO!

This poem was written as words to my original full-orchestra theme music (recorded in 17-tracks). The music becomes the central theme to the film (complete with church bells on the hill, crashing waves and rather swirly wind noises). Yes – completely over the top ;) I forgot to mention that my film will be based on the lifestory of Adam Lindsay Gordon, often called the “National Poet of Australia” and he lived decades before Banjo Patterson. I am sure that Banjo owes a lot to the influence of Gordon. The poem just happened – in response to my feelings about his sad life (I’ll let you look up his life story – it is amazing). All I have to do now is to complete the filmscript ;) (choke!)

its the song of a man who is on a long joyful journey by foot.all through his way he meets different people who join him for some time and leaves him.like all the things must pass,he dreams of a beautiful place he has never been before and an umbrella takes him floating to that wonder land..and the dream is gone before he could sink into it and so he sings and sings his songs and talks to people who are around and who are really not there too.
