More new stuff for you, and a few hints on what’s on the way soon… 1. Change the order of your art and designs! And check out the stats on how many views, comments, favourites and sales each has received. 2. The Portfolio in MyBubble has been split into Art and Clothing sections. This is a precursor to giving art, writing, and clothing their own separate public areas. 3. “Journal entries” have been renamed blogs. We are working towards separating out “written work” (e.g. poems, stories, articles) from blogs, which should make a big difference to all you writers! 4. The old “people” page has been upgraded to community . Find out what’s happening on RedBubble, see which work is popular right now, meet featured people, and get involved in activities and competitions. Phew! It’s been a big week, but there is plenty more on the way soon…

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: When I began this list of coloured pencil artists, my intention was to provide illustrations of the works of Redbubble Coloured Pencil artists. Recently, many have started using the copy-protection facility provided by Redbubble, so I am unable to add illustrations when this happens … just thought I’d mention, in case anyone was hurt that I’d left them out. There are some absolutely wonderful coloured pencil artists on Redbubble. I have only found a small number of them, but I’m sure there are many more out there and I would really appreciate it if anyone could name some more for me please. Some artists on my list use coloured pencils all the time, whilst others use them occasionally or as part of a mixed medium painting. One of the main reasons I joined Redbubble was because I saw the coloured pencil art of Penny Edwardes / Since then I have discovered lots more coloured pencil artists as well and here is a list of them with clickable links to their pages: Deborah Holman / / / heartco / Ine Spee / / / Liesl Yvette Wilson / / / Kathryn Pedroza / / / Michael51 / / / pinkyjain / Brian Towers / / / Gittiart / / / BarbBarcikKeith / / / Lee Wilde / / / Belinda Lindhart / Dawn Davies / Mariana Musa / J. Fehringer / Olechka / robertsloan2 / BlaqkPhoenix / R.L. Hall / Deborah Fuller / Sarah Pittman / MinoYasue / Anne McCluskey / Chelsea Kerwath / Michelle Wrighton / Jenna Forsdyke / Terry Krysak / cheetaah / Suryani Shinta / Angelique Moorman / Roberta Ponte / Steven Novak / sosij / petportraits / sowhat / Larry Butterworth / dimarie / John R. P. Nyaid / Delabarra / I AM UNABLE AT PRESENT TO SHOW DELABARRA’S WORK AS HIS IMAGES ARE IN GIF FORMAT, WHICH WILL NOT SHOW. Karen Townsend / Lazart / Estelle O’Brien / angelartist / Andy Mercer / 1960Fairlane / AS WITH DELABARRA’S WORK I AM UNABLE AT PRESENT TO SHOW ONE OF SEAN’S PICTURES, AS HIS IMAGES ARE IN GIF FORMAT, WHICH WILL NOT SHOW. i STRONGLY ADVICE EVERYONE TO GO TAKE A LOOK THOUGH! Karsten Stier / KARSTEN IS ANOTHER ARTIST WHO UPLOADS GIF IMAGES, SO I CAN’T INCLUDE A PICTURE, BUT PLEASE DO GO TO LOOK AT HIS WORK AS IT IS EXCELLENT. salhunter / synthpaintann I’m unable to show a drawing by synthpaintann because of her security settings, but do take a look at her portfolio. Lee Grissett Azaragoza / John Hayes / Countrytennis / Kate Eller Many artists still look down their noses at coloured pencils, seeing them as a stepping stone towards painting. Others are moving from paints to coloured pencils, or using them for inclusion in mixed media paintings. Many artists, such as dawndavies, do occasional coloured pencil drawings to add to their portfolios. I’m starting to get hooked myself. If anyone knows of any other coloured pencil artists, I’d love to see their work please.

  • I was given this ex library book from my home town by a man who ended up taking advantage of me. So I decided to use the book in a way to express myself. This first page is about being haunted by memories. How you try your best to move on, but it’s apart of who you are now. You can’t pretend it isn’t, you just have to learn to live with it. And live on. Old novel page, gesso, ink / 2008

  • Recently I got to thinking about some lines from one of my favorite books by Paula Rinehart, entitled Strong Women, Soft Hearts. They read: “How else can we learn about ourselves if not by forcing our hands to tell the truth about our hearts?” Nicole Johnson writes. It is incredible to see the way feelings and conclusions you did not know you even had slip out the end of a pencil. ...journaling is like a farmer tilling the soil – only this is the earth of your life that`s being tilled. It really is true; I find that when my heart is troubled, if I take the time to sit and do some journaling, by the time I`m finished I have a much greater grasp of what truly is going on inside of me, and I always feel much more at peace – not because things have changed, but because I have a better understanding of what`s going on (both internally and externally, usually!). And most importantly, it brings me to a place where I can more fully turn the whole situation over to God and release my sticky fingers of attempted control, realizing that it`s all in God`s hands anyway, and I`m just stressing myself out by trying to control something that I can`t. : ) A fascinating phenomenon, journaling! When was the last time you sat down with a pen (or at a computer) and just wrote/typed what you were feeling/thinking? Perhaps some great revelations are hovering just behind that pen or computer. Will you take the time to discover them?! I pray you do.

  • Cycles
    by JenniferB

*For those whose necks don’t r…

For those whose necks don’t rotate who are unable to read the muse above ;-) Cycles spinning around and around like dirty laundry Patterns repeating themselves like old fashioned ‘70’s floral wallpaper Memories best left to die all which have been told except one which will never be told and the present is just something I want to unwrap myself out of. The future… who knows? I’ve started a few poems and songs but I haven’t been able to finish any of them… My brain is on pause mode, it feels like someone else is holding onto the remote control lately and I want them to press the play button but they keep me on pause. I hate feeling controlled either in close proximity of someone or remotely. People don’t come with ownership papers like cars or Titles and Deeds like property or Contracts like collateral or Licenses like dogs ...And a silent, unwritten emotional agreement is only valid if both people honour it equally investing an equal amount of energy, time and commitment to it because it isn’t actually written anywhere or signed the feeling just floats around in the atmosphere until eventually it disperses and disappears completely. Wow… That image came out looking kind of big! I think I’ll resize it…

  • Massive Illegal Distribution and Cheap Sales Of My Works

With this journal my intention is to alert the whole community of RB artists regarding the care we all must have when showing our works on a website, as well as to solicit help _ tips, suggestions_ regarding the actions to be carried out to try to lessen the impact of these illegal practices. / / It was just yesterday that I received an email from a friend currently living in Miami, Florida. He had just seen that copies of some of my works were being sold at $ 5 each on a popular Miami store. / / I immediately asked him to try to get more specific information regarding this store. One hour later he wrote me back with this info. / / MONZON BROTHERS (name of the store) / 318 W 21th Street / HIALEAH, FL 33010 / TOLL FREE 1-888-580-6363 / / TEL: (305) 885-6363 Local / TEL: (305) 885-3705 Local / FAX: (305) 885-6338 Local / EMAIL: monzonbrothers@hotmail.com / website: www.monzonbrothers.com / / He also attached a couple of photos that were taken in that store this same day. / / / Some of these images are mine; better said, most of them; these images belong to The Orishas Collection I´ve been working on all over this year. Please take a look at the original images for you to compare. / Yemayá / Oshun / Oshosi / Obatalá When confronted, a representative for Monzon Brothers replied this way. (sic): “… A gentle came by the store selling them…You may want to visit local store as well. People always come and try to sell everything in this business. / I did not know since they are offering this imagines not just to us… I am using it as wall paper to hide the showcase glass… since we are working there, so people do see the mess of paper work ,, we process ordered and answer phone calls.” I also asked them to please provide me with the name(s) and contact information of the people who are offering these prints to several stores so that I can warn them too officially not to repeat this act, and I still haven´t got any response on this matter from Monzon Brothers. Judging by the extremely low quality of these prints I assume they were taken from my RB galleries; they should have taken them from the standard view of the image cause I had placed RB big-centered watermark for larger views since these images were uploaded to the site. So this left me completely disarmed, and I don´t see any other option than to remove all images that are susceptible to be purchased from my galleries. Most probably you all know that I don´t live in the States. I´m currently living in Columbia, South America. So all tips, suggestions and positive HELP in general will be more than welcome. Also, I hope to have the active and enthusiastic support of fellow artists currently living in Miami, Florida, on this matter. Thanks for your kind attention. / Danilo Lejardi

  • This was sketched using pencils and painted in oil pastels in my journal then scanned into the computer and more details added ….IF U WATCH THE HANDS AND MOVE YOUR EYES THEY APPEAR TO BE DANCING , but they are not…....... Again just let me say that im in a great place at the moment, these images do not reflect my current mood, just moods that i have at times been in and im reaching out to others who have been there at some time or other or more importantly are there now , remember u are not alone, and when u are down the only way to go is up ….i do not control my muse she visits and controls me and i treasure her visits…my alter ego or muse is Leofaerie i totally believe in the fae…
