  • This was taken at Wat Phnom in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on the last day of Khmer New Year. The wat was abuzz with activity that day. She was with a number of people (probably family) and she quickly poked her head out of the main sanctuary to fan out the joss sticks that she had just lit. She then proceeded to separate them out to the people that were with her and they continued to the many shrines on the surrounding the main sanctuary. I last saw them leaving a few joss sticks at the shrine of Madame Penh and then pouring water on their heads as a sign of cleansing.

  • I noticed a small temple with large Buddha statue sandwiched between the Bayon and Baphuon Temples, which are part of the Angkor Wats. I ventured over and made a small offering with joss sticks. She kneeled beside me, took my hands and bowed repeatedly and said “for my mother, for my father, for my ….” as I bowed along with her. Taken in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

  • Folded august 2009 age 23. Photo taken on August 25, 2009 with an Olymous FE-340 I attempted to create an origami design for the ‘Firefly’ from the television series by Joss Whedon. I first attempted it around the beginning of this month; somewhat came up with a design then tried a smaller one. At the time it wasn’t very successful and I left it aside for awhile. Today I have just come back to it. This was folded from a 4×4cm piece of paper. / Since this is based on a TV series I’m not selling this. / / For a better idea of scale: / / This work has been featured in: / Art in Math / (just after I uploaded this pic!) / Young Enthusiasts
