  • Nail Artist : Shree / Poetic Excellence by : Bonita *The desires of my heart have been there, / thus since the beginning of my time…. / From childhood I desired to grow older, / and reached forward to so to climb….. / I grabbed hold of each new beginning, / the emotions burning deep in my heart / With each step thus reaching much farther, / even more so than from the first start. Desire sometimes takes you and turns you, / in a path you never thought you would go / Leaving some things way back to the wayside / a new direction you never thought you would know. / Making you do so much more now, / than for you ever thought could exist…. / Reaching and taking to new heights…....... / In the clouds of that blissful heavens mist. Reaching and soaring to new dreams, / this emotion that dwells deep inside me / Has taken me forward to new things… / God has given me thine liberty…..... Freedom to move forward in these dreams, / the desires of my heart are so true / I know now without any question…....... / this emotion so stirred has come true / I will mount up with wings spread as eagles….. / from this mountain top I shall now soar For my desires of thy heart have been realized, / through Gods Grace my emotions much more. * / One more attempt in the line of Nail Paintings…....just tried to recreate the inner Desires reflecting out in the form of various faces who says….............................. One always gets what’s Deserved & not what’s Desired * / / A painting done with the little Thumb’s Nail of my Hand & shaded in a very unique style of colors which leaves an embossed impression not only on paper but even on the minds. Its beauty lies in its creative sketching & natural shading, giving a touch of excellence on every part of the painting. Belive me it takes lot of patience & concentration, to embossed such imaginary sketches, sometimes days to engrave these distinct details on the small as well as huge sized special paper with an accurate pressured hand and equally thoughtful mind. No sketch work is done on the paper, directly the thumbnail moves & the outlines are been embossed to give the unique & unmatched visual effects. The shading & coloring process is equally interesting when rubbed on the wax based powder colors, it gives an unbelievable shady textures & tones to the NAIL PAINTINGS.

  • During his life he spoke of peace, love, kindness, questionable hygiene, killer sideburns, a joint for every citizen, and to never eat red meat. The irony is that after death he craves only the flesh of man…though his hygiene is pretty much the same as it always was. He’s the Hell bound Hippie and he’s coming to get you! (Very slowly of course…you know, because he’s high.)

  • My New York, alive, awake, jumping! Sennelier pastel on sanded paper.

  • Thug Pug features this hip hop pug. Very nice and detailed pub wearing his chain and smokin’ a cigar. / A must have design for any hip hop pug lover!

  • A Painting by : Shree / A Poetic life given by : Linaji Well this is a moment of a recently married woman waiting desperately for her husband who has still not returned after whole days work, its her first few days after her marriage being in her new joint family house standing behind behind the door keep an eye on the lonely road as its too late for her husband to come and all sorts of thoughts come accross her mind good & bad both. I specifically wanted to show their love, bond, respect, intimacy, curiocity, closeness, affection, feeling of insecurity, fear and a sense of worriedness, impatience and all sorts of mixed thoughts going on specially in her mind as she desperately wants her husband to return back to home soon as its already too late and as she is quite hungry but as a indian wife she wont take her dinner alone without the husband, and there is no sign of her husband anywhere as far as she can see….hence goes the title….” Where is he…??” / WHERE IS HE…??? Where is he? / My mother told me this would happen, / I would one day look out that door, / I would wonder and through my heart / Would ask, / What is this life I lead for? I never knew when we met / Only two times did I see / The man I now am married to / The man I now wish to be… Here, with me! / In my arms again! / I never knew such tender words, / I never knew a smile so beholding / A smile that I feel is assured That I as his wife can be / More each day than a silly girl / That I can be more than a mother / To our wonderful boy and girl A rock, a tear of compassion / A steadfast partner in the world / I wait by the door and I wonder / What am I in his life for? I look to my heart and I listen well / I look to my parents too / I hear the beat of a life that’s complete / I hear the fears of a fool. But lo, I hear the sound of his footsteps, / I hear that sweet song that rings in his voice, / I smile at the moment I will be in his Arms / And I know that my fate is my choice, So I welcome my King / And I act as his Queen, / I tell him all about my day, / His smiles all the while / And his arms out-stretched / Is his style / And I know I am in heaven / Today, / And I know this is love that will / stay. Linaji 2008 /

  • A Painting by : Shree / Expressive Excellence by : Wendy Slee Well friends this is a painted moment of two sisters swinging together after whole days work, where one is elder sister and another is younger sharing and discussing their friendly issues from their lives. I wanted to show their love, bond, respect, intimacy, closeness, affection, feeling of security and a sense of friendship being two real sisters that they can share and exchange anything as they are more like friends than sisters. In my country India its a tradition that after the family lunch or a dinner all the males sit together in a family room to relax and share a little talk on general issues and all the ladies of the house sit in ladies room where in the centre there is a big engraved swing hanged and the eldest lady of the house sit along with others on that swing and they too share and make fun on their daily issues. My artistic painting is excellently expressed by one of the finest artists on RB – WENDY SLEE…read her awesome poetic thoughts and enjoy this swinging moments .!!!!!!! A moment in time, / Gently swinging, / Carefree, / The future poised, anticipating, / For a moment holds its breath, / Potential radiates out in all directions / Awaiting our choices, / The waves we will make, / Such simple footsteps, / Our perfect creation. Back and forth / We ebb and flow / In peaceful acknowledgement / Like the tides, / Rhythmic and harmonic / Children, daughters, sisters, / Then mothers and grandmothers, / The perpetual unfurling and / Inevitable drawing of life back into itself / And beyond. In your eyes I see myself / Reflecting back, / The years before, / The childhood joys, / Moments shared and hands held, / Words passed, / Secrets told, / Whispers in the dark… / How our beauty unfolds / In the bloom of each others faces. The river of woman flows / Before us, beckoning, / The innocence of our childhood / Left behind on its shores. / Rippling and shining in divine femininity, / The waters of the future await, / Daring us to drink deeply and move on. / Hands no longer need grasp / What the heart already holds. / Where shall we go from here?* /

  • A Painting by : Shree & Ami(my wife) / Wonderful Words by : Sally Omar Well this is a moment of a poor family waiting desperately together for their father who has still not returned after whole days work, where one kid is elder sister and standing behind another is younger son waiting and being impatient about their fathers uncertain returning issue back to their house. I specifically wanted to show their love, bond, respect, intimacy, curiocity, closeness, affection, feeling of insecurity, fear and a sense of worriedness, impatience and all sorts of wieard thoughts going on specially in the mind of the mother who desperately wants her husband to return back to home soon as its already too late and as both the children are hungry along with her, all of them waiting for their dad to acompany them at whatever food they have left with. Being mother of two little kids she cannot cry or show her sense of worry infront of kids but still she is infact so upset, so tensed and so curious for finding the reasons about not returning back of her husband till so late which she reflects throught her eyes and facial expressions along with managing her kids by giving them assurance that he will comeback soon. My wife Ami helped me a lot specially for bringing those waiting expressions on the face for which i will always be grateful to her unmatched artistic skills. / All the artwork is given a sepia tone with charcoal to show the feel of my theme desperate – await, which i think goes well with the moment of impatience…enjoy. And lastly a special thanks to Sally who did a marvellous job within no time giving a touch of liveliness to these waiting family with her wonderful words. A MOTHER WAITS IN DESPERATION / HER FAMILY IS VERY POOR / THERE IS VERY LITTLE TO EAT / WISHES THERE WAS MORE / SHE AND CHILDREN ARE HUNGRY / AS THEY WAIT / HE IS ALWAYS HOME ON TIME / TODAY HE IS LATE / WAITING WITH HER CHILDREN BY THE WINDOW / TO HIM HER THOUGHTS ARE SENT / SHE KEEPS WAITING / AND SHE LAMENTS WHERE IS MY HUSBAND….WHERE CAN HE BE / HE IS NEVER SO LATE / THE CHILDREN ARE HUNGRY / BUT WE MUST WAIT / THE FOOD IS SCARCE / NOT MUCH TO EAT / WHEN HE COMES HOME / WE WILL KISS AND GREET / I AM REALLY NERVOUS / I HOPE EVERYTHING IS GOOD / I WORRY EACH DAY / AS A WIFE SHOULD I MUST BE STRONG / I CANNOT LET MY CHILDREN SEE / HOW WORRIED I AM / WHERE CAN HE BE / HE’S NOT BEEN ACTING / LIKE EVERYTHING IS ALL RIGHT / I JUST PRAY / HE COMES HOME TONIGHT WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH / AND SEE HIM EACH DAY SO TIRED / THERE ARE TIMES HE COMES HOME / SO VERY WIRED / SOMETIMES HE’S ANGRY / AND I DON’T KNOW WHY / BUT I HOLD IN MY TEARS / I NEVER CRY MUM WHERE IS DAD / I’M REALLY HUNGRY / WE KEEP WAITING / WHERE CAN HE BE / DO YOU THINK HE STOPPED / AT THE STORE / TO BUY KHREE WE LIKE SO MUCH / LIKE HE DID BEFORE / THAT WOULD BE SO GOOD / WE LOVE WHEN WE GET SWEETS / DADDY LOVES US / SOMETIMES HE BUYS US TREATS MUM MY STOMACH / FEELS LIKE THERE IS A HOLE / I AM HUNGRY / AND FEEL OUT OF CONTROL / I WANT TO CRY / WHERE IS DAD / DO YOU THINK HE WILL COME HOME / DID I MAKE HIM MAD / DOES HE KNOW I LOVE HIM / DID I MAKE HIM SAD CHILDREN DON’T WORRY / MAYBE HE WORKED A LITTLE LATE / WE ARE STRONG / WE CAN WAIT / ALTHOUGH WE ARE HUNGRY / LET’S SAY A PRAYER / CLOSE YOUR EYES / AND HE WILL SOON BE HERE SILENTLY TO GOD SHE PRAYS / SO HER CHILDREN CAN’T HEAR / TO SEND HER HUSBAND SOON / SHE IS NOW LIVING IN FEAR / HER THOUGHTS ARE GOING WILD / WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF HE NEVER RETURNED / HER HEART IS HEAVY / HER SOUL IS BURNING KNOWING THAT HE LOVES THEM / AND THERE IS A TRUE BOND / SHE IS TERRIFIED / THAT HE HAS BEEN HARMED / SHAKING HER HEAD / SHE PRAYS WITH ALL HER HEART / THAT HE COME HOME / SHE AND HER CHILDREN ARE DESPERATE /

  • Hi Friends, Once again m back with a wonderful collaboration with my good & tallented friend Angi Baker from RB, whom i requested to let me use her perfect n poised portrayal of passionate n pure love moments captured in a short poem for my latest oil painting. She was very kind enough to agree right away and hence we colloborated our artstyle into one for the world to share and ya i can say proudly that it indeed worked profoundly. / Well this is a moment of my wife waiting for me, just after our wedding for few months as she was alone in the house and as the sun started setting she generally took her personal diary and daily noted down her imaginative thoughts and visions which was like a perfect pose for me to paint it on a canvas and thus i came out with this after all this years… With the grace of Angi’s words it gave a new life to my artwork and me and my wife both were so glad to see this colloboration comming together for which both of us are really thankful to my friend Angi. I am truely honoured !!!!!! So folks enjoy these heart touching love filled moments in a form of a poem and a painting from both of us. Painting sketched by : Shree / Poem Written By: Angi Baker SHE WAITS….. She patiently waits for him, / as she sits waiting / she sips a glass of wine / listening to the romantic music / playing from the radio. / Wondering, when will he return. / Remembering the last time they talked / and thinking of every word that he said to her. Wanting to feel his arms around her / and his warm breath upon her neck, / she feels a warm sensation upon her very body / as she sits and thinks of him. Wondering what he may be doing at this very moment, / she sips another sip of her wine. / He finally returns to say I’m sorry. / I had some things I had to deal with for a little bit / but I’m here now for you. She asks him do you want a sip of my wine honey? / He replies, no.. I want you and I need you now. / So she sits her glass of wine down / and turns to look him in the eyes. / She says to him, honey I have been waiting for you / and I need you now too. He embraces her and she him / as they move closer and closer to each other / he touches her lips and says, your so beautiful my love. / At that very moment her heart falls to the floor, / because she is so in love with him. She tells him, honey I will always wait for you / no matter what…and then they make passionate love. /

  • Friends this is another attempt to portray awaitness in different form as this time this emotions are reflected in a colourful way by those lovely & curious looking two faces where they are ready to go outside for the first time with their parents to a new place and had put on their best indian traditional folk cosutmes with all those bright and bold looking jwellery on them to show their eagerness about visiting that new place for the first time….well with some fantastic verbal tallents penned down by my dear friend Dana making my painting a live speaking characters, its a great colloboration by both of us as it was infact not easy to tie all those lovely emotional words in one nice poem which i hope she did an awesome job and i will always be thankful for all her time and favours which made this artwork worth looking and believing at..!!! Hope you all will enjoy its beauty and curiousness which is done in oils and some clay work with little mirror work done all over the painting. Enjoy .. Shree & DanaMS. • My father-in-law is nearly 81, and holding on to his way of living, taking care of his appartment, fending for himself, and looking after his ailing girlfriend as well. Walking to her appartment everyday to help her with the daily chores, to do the necessary errands, and to make sure that she takes her medication properly. Walking back to his place in the evening, doing his own housework, laundry, sweeping and shoveling, choosing to maintain two households instead of moving in with his girlfriend, holding on dearly to his independance. Stubbornly holding on to his dignity, refusing to use the cane that could help him when he gets the occasional bout of dizziness. Choosing to do all this hard work instead of going to a retirement home, holding on fiercely to his pride and autonomy. Taking care of his son and grandsons, always making sure that they are well and happy, that they have everything they need. Holding on lovingly to his fathership. Going on through life, with the constant pain in his joints, the weight of all those years pressing down on his shoulders and on his heart, just holding on… Focal length 55mm / ISO-200 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/13 sec. Shot in manual mode, in natural light from the window / Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR

  • Dancing at the joint…

  • It could be the name of a video game, or that of a recording studio. It could even be a folk music group from Vancouver, or the name of a celtic rock group from Scotland. It could also represent some characters from a novel… but most likely, it could be a name that they have given themselves, the squatters who live in the disused buildings around the Old Port of Montreal. Focal length 36mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/5,6 / Shutter 1/40 sec. Shot hand held in aperture priority / Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR / Sigma Wide Multi-Coated Circular Polarizing filter (forgot to remove it) /

  • This is my antry for the Lolita at Play group challenge. The background is a bit red/orange, yes… I was inspired by the work of Ball Jointed Alice I think the doll looks a lot like her work…will have to work on my style. :) But I credited her as my inspiration…so yeah, there you have it. 9×12 / Ink and glitter. The scanner picked up too much of the glitter sparkle so this piece looks odd to me…
