Cute little Joey in the pouch of the mum kangaroo. Was so lucky to capture this!!
Thanks Joe
My favourite rose in my garden. Every bloom is a different shade of color… it is just divine!
Beautiful Australian Red Kangaroo, with Joey popping its head out for a look :) These animals mostly inhabit the dry inland and central Australia, but some are found near the coasts. Growing up to 1.4 metres in length, and weigh up to 85kg. With a range of vision is approximately 300° due to the position of its eyes, they spot predators very early. Their legs work like a rubber band, and they can leap easily up to 9m in one jump.. Canon 50D, 400mm. Available Large! Scenery: Noosa Basin Wetlands.
Every spring this gorgeous orange-apricot rose initiates a delighted “Wow! Just Joey’s got thirteen buds!” , and we know summer’s almost here! This delightful bush somehow manages to come through every year, in spite of the ever increasing shade from the tall fir trees surrounding our home.
This was inspired by a sign we see very often here in Newfoundland. It’s a perfect blend of two iconic road signs from opposite sides of the earth. / Call it my gift to Australia for bringing us this wonderful site. / Created in Photoshop. / / Here is one of our signs: / / / The shirt looks great on the Cranberry coloured tee as well. /

This is the first Just Joey rose to open with a ruffled edge to its petals, usually it had a slight wave but this one has just blown me away with how beautiful it is. / It also means alot to me as on October 25 2008, which would have been my father in laws 80 th birthday, we scattered his ashes, some of which were left behind in the container, so i knew this was his most favorite rose, so i sprinkled the last bits onto it, and this is what i believe to be his contribution to the flower….. / i believe the head to be nearly 7 inches across..nice size..lol… This was taken in my garden a couple of days ago, AS IS, on my sony A200 dslr with the attached macro flash attached.. /
very early morning natural light…. and below the same bloom after a heavy rainstorm. ( I don’t go in for simulated rain drops from a spray bottle) NO wonder Just Joey is such a popular rose /
Ok..so I’m a softy at heart…. this little red kangaroo joey will now grow up with a big reputation..not only photographed by yours truly, but also held by the great cyclist, Lance Armstrong. I’m sure all the other kangaroos in the paddock will be duly impressed. And just because GG loves the animal shots… I have had to show you my caring side… and upload this one. f6.3 ; 1/60 ; ISO400
Mother & Joey. Thank you for looking.

This lovely rose grows on the side of a hill in North Adelaide. It is called Just Joey.
One of my potted plants, this one sits on a table on the side porch. The blue backdrop is part of the wall behind the table. These look like little bottle brushes to me. It’s growing very well. Pentax *ist DL; 18-55mm lens; Ps CS3 Extended. / My plants.
