I had to get a close up of this beautiful old girl, and i couldn’t help but wondering what tunes had been played on her through the years. I’m guessing someone was a decent player, because otherwise it would have been a more modest piano that would have been here. I remember as a kid that pianos would be referred to as Joanna’s in my family, though i think this grand piece would be deserving of a more grand name, so i name her Lady Joanna!

This is not by me but as I have been trying in vain to capture my daughter in a really good portrait – and failed miserably, I thought I would put it up. It is by my sister Joanna Harpley whose work you really should check out on Flickr (she wants to stay there instead of joining us here, even though it was she who told me about RB !)
