Gouche on Bockingford 150gsm fine grain watercolour paper. / This was a challenge. I wanted to create my own jigsaw puzzle. I studied other puzzles…the shapes of the pieces and came up with this. It was a test in patience…taught me to examine shapes and the spaces they left.
Ok, I’m sick, and my tablet wasn’t working well, so I couldn’t detail the heart, maybe I’ll do it later…MAYBE!!!

Wall of an old opencut goldmine in central Victoria Australia. The pattern is formed by layers of sandstone being broken up by runs of quartz and shale. This process took thousand, possibly millions of years to complete through the earth’s movements (earthquakes, volcanic activity). It shows just how artistic and yet puzzling Mother Nature can be.
