Some nights are special. To walk free, is worth the world. Nothing above but the deep velvet sky and millions of stars, as our ancestors before us. Looking up at the same Moon as they. Some nights are pure magic – charged with something stronger than we. Soft muffled hoot of the owl, whispering leaves, growing things, the smell of damp mosses. What is life, if, full of care, / we have no time to stand and stare No time to stand beneath the boughs / And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, / Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, / Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty’s glance, / And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can / Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, / We have no time to stand and stare. By Wm. Henry Davies. “Leisure” / (Wm. Henry Davies (1871-1940) is to be considered as the poet of the tramps. Born at Newport, Wales in the UK, Davies came to America from Great Britain and lived the life of a vagabond. One day, as the result of jumping a train, he lost one of legs. Davies returned to England where he continued to live the life of a tramp and a pedlar. He wrote poetry (presumably he did right along) and, eventually, he determined to print his own book and did so with the little money he earned panhandling. A copy of this first work, A Soul’s Destroyer, came into the hands of George Bernard Shaw; which, in turn, led to the popularization of the poet. FE. Talis varI formula._____

FE Talis formula. I felt a quite prickly intensity creep over me when this appeared. I couldn’t say why, but the name Core Spirit came into my head. It’s a fractal I have had for a few years and I did some more work on it today, but still get the same feeling. It reminds me of an iris.

FE Talis var I formula. Postwork PSP When the battle is done there is a strange flat feeling. The adrenaline dissipated, the fire put out. A strange wanting for it to have continued, even to the death. An obsession. My thanks to all for your encouraging comments on previous posts, for features and for your precious time.

Fractal Explorer Talis var 1 formula. This time of year holds an anticipation, frosty mornings keeping sleepy new life beneath the surface. Catkins on the Silver Birch, tightly compressed, waiting for the days to lengthen. The first Snowdrops lifting their heads under ivy clad hedgerows. The year turns, as ever, renewing, regenerating and cleansing.

Fractal Explorer. General Phoenix II formula. I seem to have abandoned Talis, but I’ll be back:-) A Soft Keening. A strong north westerly was blowing hard, whipping up spume from the sea and hurling it along the beach like the furies as we fought our way up the dunes, gripping tight the tufts of marron grass to help us upward. Two strides forward, slip one back, eventually reaching the brow. Alice’s cottage on our right, facing south east, built so many years ago by loving hands, of cobbles gleaned from the seashore, bound with lime mortar. The roof, sagging now and dressed in mosses that clung tight in their battle with the elements. Two tiny mullioned windows and a small oak door. The sand dunes were hugging and absorbing the little cottage as though reclaiming what was rightfully theirs. / What was all the fuss about, I wondered – she had lived a lonely life, foraging for driftwood, living off the sea and the odd rabbit. Had she been lonely? The sun danced off the windows and our eyes followed a rainbow shaft to the door knob. A few sharp pushes and the door partially opened inward, scraping heavily on the build up of sand. / To be continued.

Fractal Explorer. Gen Newton IV formula. I joined the Group this morning and have been amazed at the stunning images here. This formula produces some wonderful swirling patterns, which when used in conjunction with the built in palettes of FE lifts them a step higher. / Thankyou for your time.

Aaaah, Procrastination; my Master and a dear friend of mine, too good a friend sometimes. / He steals off me all the good intentions I have for the day. He says it is for my own good. I know where he hides them…they are building up into quite a pyramid. / He says today is for watching and listening. He holds my hands tight. I really do blame him for all my shortcomings. I don’t struggle. So what? He has broad shoulders and is strong enough to carry me. I am weak and he knows it well. I give in….(smile)

Fractal Explorer pure fractal Twister Weed Sterlingware formula number 05. Quite a strange formula this one. It throws up a very diverse range of extraordinary designs. Where the heart came from I don’t know. One minute it was not there – the next it was. I hope no-one is looking for it; anyway it’s quite safe. / Thankyou for looking:-)

The Sirens tried to lure the shiop of Odysseus, on its way home from the Trojan War. Before they set sail they had been entertained by the Goddess Circe, the sorceress, who had warned Odysseus to make sure the ears of his crew were blocked with wax. She advised him that if he wanted to hear the sirens for himself, he should instruct the crew to tie him up and refuse to untie him until they were out of range. Odysseus obeyed, and spent that part of the journey tied to the main mast, enabling him to hear the beautiful song for himself. They sailed past the furious Sirens who went hungry for the second time.

First Fall It’s early / warm and cosy / embers dying / from the bedroom fire / that Granny banked up / late last night. / Strange light round the curtain edges / Outside, sounds muffled, / the milk cart rattles / no clip clop of hooves / this morning. / A door opens downstairs. / Clean cold smell whooshes upstairs. / “Good morning. FE GenNewton IV formula. / Clouds andstuff in PSP. I like everything connected to the sea and sky, but thinking about it I like everything else too, it’s just that many fractals I find seem to have the rolling motion of the tides and clouds.
