  • Sunrise is a storm warning for people in St. louis Mo. USA

  • Found this on an old Sitka Spruce that became a nurse log long ago, from the looks of things. 20% of the proceeds from the sale of this work will be donated to Oregon Trout, a statewide conservation group working to restore freshwater health and habitat through innovation and education. • Funny how something so ordinary, can be so interesting. Captured on my way out of the Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, in Colonial Williamsburg. One of the oldest Episcopal churches in the United States, Bruton has been serving members since 1715. Famous past worshipers include presidents Washington, Tyler, Monroe and Jefferson. • one pill make you larger and one pill makes you small and the ones that mother gives you don’t do anything at all.

  • The Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. is America’s foremost memorial to the third President of the United States. The circular, colonnaded structure is an adaptation of Neoclassical architecture, a style that was introduced to America by Thomas Jefferson. Architect John Russell Pope used Jefferson’s own architectural tastes in the design of the memorial. Construction of the memorial was completed in 1943. The Jefferson Memorial is part of the National Mall and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Thank you to the group “Historic Places” for featuring this photograph. • This is a sign of spring for me, especially now, when some Robins have started to stay year round in Colorado. This picture was taken at Crown Hill Park, near Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The park belongs to Jefferson County Open Space, and they have a wildlife sanctuary in one corner of the park, where I got this image, in February 2008.

  • / As I am looking out my office window at the falling snow I am drawn to a summer past, with the warmth of the rising sun on my back as I view the unfolding of a new day in the high desert of central Oregon and the eastern slope of the Cascade Mountains. I think I’m ready for some warm weather! This image was taken a couple of years ago from Round Butte located outside of Medras, Oregon looking west towards Mount Jefferson. I posted this image when I first joined RB but have reprocessed the image using the Orton effect which seems to work well with it. My thought was to creat a 1930’s style hand painted style postcard.

  • here a sample of an EXTRA LARGE print on canvas

  • I took this photo at Jefferson Island, Louisiana, in Iberia Parish.

  • I took this picture along the banks of a lake at Jefferson Island in Iberia Parish. I have applied several layers and textures to give it more of a painted canvas look.

  • Some people call the Roseate Spoonbill a Cajun Flamingo. Here is a lovely pink lady balancing delicately on a limb at Jefferson Island rookery where there is a large colony of waterfowl in residence during the spring and summer months.

  • This female roseate spoonbill is showing up one of her most beautiful attributes, pink speckled legs! Isn’t she charming? I think even Betty Grable would approve!

  • Two immature cattle egrets at Jefferson Island, Louisiana, were busy showing off their wings at the rookery I love to visit. The fledglings are just about full grown now and the activity is frenzied, wings flapping everywhere as new water birds prepare to make their debut in the wide world.

  • Cattle egret posing grandly at the rookery on Jefferson Island, Louisiana.

  • My husband and I took a ride to the coast yesterday to visit Grand Isle, Louisiana, which is a barrier island in Jefferson Parish sandwiched between the Gulf of Mexico and Barataria Bay. This is a shot of the marshlands which are typical of the region’s terrain in the extreme southeastern part of the state. It was a stormy day in which we dodged one torrential shower after another. I took this photo along Highway 1, the only access to Grand Isle.

  • Beauvoir was the location of the retirement home of Confederate President Jefferson Davis. The compound consisted of approximately 608 acres when Davis lived there …today, the site is approximately 52 acres. Beauvoir is located in Biloxi, Mississippi across US Highway 90 from Biloxi Beach. The name “Beauvoir” means “beautiful to view”. / taken from Wikipedia

  • Roseate Spoonbills are among my favorite birds. This male was posing on a branch in Iberia Parish in southern Louisiana.
