  • The origianl painting is in acrylic on Canvas / The original was sold. “He drew a keyboard on the wall / And played it for friends / Bud Powell was a legend” Bud powell was an Amelican jazz pianist. / He was a child prodigy. He had a firm grounding in the classics before he began to play jazz. / During a murky encounter with Philadelphia police in 1945, Powell was beaten repeatedly over the head. His injuries seem to have intensified his mental problems. He spent time in and out of institutions. He sometimes stopped playing for minutes at a time to stare into the audience. / He died at forty-two…. Bud Powell Trio All the things You are

  • Santiago de Compostela / Galicia / Espana This guy is hot shit, plays like a maestro and none has seen him without the mask. He sets up and plays most days in various locations around the square, no one is offended or shocked by his persona, black or white, I have studied the crowds he attracts. This has been at the back of my folio since pre PS days, I forgot how much I like it and the memories it brings back. So after a wash and brush up, here he is. Apologies to those that have seen this already.
