Everything glows in electric blue jubilation this quintessential night. He insightfully uncovers passions that previously were unknown even to me: dancing red wine, soulful jazz… and him. I find myself longing for the next touch, and savoring the moments I lose myself in his gaze. He pulls me closer as Bruce and the boys sing on.

Piece created for an upcoming exhibition. / Inspired by the great old skool swing song by Fletcher Henderson. / Still can’t decide if I like he’s or Benny Goodman’s version better.

This is a portrait I made of myself one rainy day. I was thinking about better days ahead…:) I like the kind of images where you are left wondering what the person in the image is thinking about…:) I love to listen the piano and this is something I think about quite often… Layered and enhanced with Topaz Lab filters in Photoshop.
This song kept going ‘round in my head while I was working on this latest piece in my ongoing musical themed series. Jazz Man / (by Carol King) Lift me, won’t you lift me above the old routine / Make it nice, play it clean, Jazz man When the Jazz man’s testifyin’ / A faithless man believes / He can sing you into paradise / Or bring you to your knees / It’s a gospel kind of feelin’ / A touch of Georgia slide / A song of pure revival / And a style that’s sanctified Jazz man, take my blues away / Make my pain the same as yours / With every change you play / Jazz man, oh, Jazz man When the Jazz man’s signifyin’ / And the band is windin’ low / It’s the late night side of morning / In the darkness of his soul / He can fill a room with sadness / As he fills his horn with tears / He can cry like a fallen angel / When risin’ time is near Jazz man, take my blues away / Make my pain the same as yours / With every change you play Oh, lift me, won’t you lift me with every turnaround / Play it sweetly, take me down, oh, Jazz man Here’s how it looks printed on canvas: /
