This is a Northern long-eared bat, they are tiny but like all bats voracious consumers of invertebrate life! Good thing with their appetites they aren’t the size of elephants! LOL

This is a Digital Painting done with some vector drawing. / This painting was taken from Amanda Cotton’s photograph “Into the Mix”. however, there is NO photograph used in the art it self, it started off a blank file. These are Lemon sharks feeding off of bate tossed over board. / This was a very hard project for me as I have never done an underwater theme before nor have I ever painted a shark. Here on Maui, we have a neighbor who decided to build a fence out of old surfboards. Well, now there are 600+ surfboards surrounding the property and the number grows daily as folks simply deposit their old hardware onto the property without giving it a second thought. I took this from the road using my Fujifilm 6×17 film camera (for sale now!) This fence has recently made international news and is a “Mecca” for all tourists to photograph.

Elephant humour Asian elephant (Baby) Amazingly, Asian elephants are more closely related to the extinct woolly mammoth than to the African elephant. The elephant’s tusks are elongated teeth (upper incisors) and tend to be smaller in Asian bull elephants than in the African. The four grinding teeth (molars) wear out and are replaced by new teeth from the back of the jaws; the elephant gets through six sets of teeth during its lifetime. A few months ago I went cage diving with Great Whites. Seeing these animals up close, makes you realise, they are not the evil killers, they have the reputation for. / This artwork is based on a shot I took from the dive. It was there for the taking. A fixture against Blacktown, and in the closing minutes we watched, agonized, from the sidelines as a slender lead was whittled down and overtaken. This was the year I went from player to spectator, the warning bells of a recurrent neck injury finally becoming audible even to me. It is difficult to let being part of something bigger than yourself go, and so I began to chronicle my team, the men I had shed blood and sweat with over too brief a time. Mostly, this is pretty straight forward, but when you enter the change rooms of a losing side in the minutes just after the game with a camera around your neck the feeling can be a little tense. Shooting from where my camera hung in front of me, I tried to capture some of the sense of how this feels. This is not meant to be a voyeuristic photo, in any sense, but I felt like I was photographing the scene of a tragedy, like I was capturing something I wasn’t meant to. There is a smell in a place like this that has nothing to do with sweat, dencorub, and unwashed kit. It is the smell of weeks, months, sometimes years of striving to achieve something that you feel is worthwhile, only to see it taken from you despite all your best efforts. It is hard to describe to anyone who hasn’t been here, but those who have will recognize the clenched jaw, the slump of the shoulders, and hear that shuffling, clattering silence that exists in a losing change room. And hopefully they will know why I love this photo. Next year boys…

Thankyou for your feature vote in the Abstract from Nature Group Interlocking horned clam shell.. I like how it can be a path.. interlocking mechanism.. an adventurous ride of an hourglass… trying to get these to appear on the same focal layer can be difficult.

I’VE GOT SOMETHING IMPORTANT TO SAY. / Sharks might become extinct, if we don’t do something, and it might hit the human race harder than we think. / Sharks have been here for millions of years. They are at the top of the marine food chain, and keep balance in the ocean. / If sharks disappear from our waters, it will have serious consequences for the ocean…and there by for humans as well. Sharks are not evil killers! As I was surfing a bit in Australia, I know how it feels to see a fin behind you. It’s not the funniest thing to see, but we have to remember, that we are in their waters. My last point. More people get killed by pigs, coconuts, and vending machines, than by sharks! OUR PLANET NEEDS THE SHARKS, AND SO DO WE!!!
