Jason was our cat before Mao. He lived to 13 but survived the last two years of his life with three legs. That didn’t stop him climbing fences though. FEATURED BY CATS AND DOGS GROUP – 1st October 2009
I lived in Australia for a year as do all backpacking Irish guys and for 7months of that year I lived here in Cardigan street, No.78. I lived with Matt, Michelle and Michelle and of course mad bad Jason also Adrian, English Gav and some other bloke whose name escapes me, Dando the dog god rest his soul, the sisters of Michelle L., Lily and Eda who visited with food from somewhere after they had a day working in Glebe market or not. The band I remember that the household liked, amongst numerous others was You Am I and we saw them in the Annandale as well as Skunk Anansie. I went home via Los Angeles and New York and 6 months later another Philip from Dublin had moved in. He turned out to be my classmate from a DTP course we did together in Dublin City. He told me himself in Hogans Bar Dublin in 1998. F…ing small world man! / This is Michelle on the classic smashed up house share sofa, which was not brown.
I actually drew quite a few years ago. It is of course, Based on Michelangelo Buonarroti’s “The Creation of Adam” from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. There is no doubt in my mind that if the man were alive today and saw this, he would scream at me in a language I don’t understand while using cuss words appropriate to his period, then possibly call me a heretic and damn me to an eternity in hell. I thought it was funny though.
I have been told that this shot is rarely captured, due to the frequency of the winds around this area. My Aunt and My Grandmother have tried for years and never had the opportunity to capture this Mountain and its mirrored image before. / I have been back several time time to take more shots but the water was too choppy, I was fortunate with this one.

Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/50 second, ISO200, tweaked in Photoshop Another shot overlooking Grasmere (the stratch of water and town). On 17th December 1799 William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy moved in to Dove Cottage, Grasmere, a former inn (known as the ‘Dove and Olive’) dating from 1617. They lived here until 1809, when Thomas De Quincey took on the property; he stayed until 1820. If you are confused about the name my rb buddy Jason Connolly introduced me to the spot several weeks ago, he has many fine shots from this area. Please view large.

A shop owner stays warm inside his little hut of usefulness whilst another man stands in the rain. / This was an freezing cold day in Sydney, and the constant shower made it so much more miserable. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/15 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop On Monday I went for a walk with the dynamic duo of Jason Connolly and Jamie Green near High Dam in the Lake District. The weather was overcast for the first hour but then we were greeted with wonderful autumnal sunshine. This is a view from Stott park overlooking the middle of Windermere. The title refers to Mr Cs annoyance that I got a shot of the bench in sunlight, when he arrived at this spot the sun would not come out….I did not hear the end of it for the rest of the walk…lol!!
