A stencil I did a while back of Tadanobu Asano as Kakihara in Takashi Miike’s ‘Ichi the Killer’. Thought I would play around with a photo of it in photoshop a bit to create a new design. Wanted to keep it looking gritty and stencil like and here is the finished result.
A version of my Lichtenstein inspired Monkey design without the black shading, available in darker colors
The way of the samurai 2!
Number three of the Musashi Wear designs.
Last but not least, Musashi Wear number five. This one took a while to draw, but I think I got the posture captured pretty well. Now to eat…
The maneki neko is a popular Japanese sculpture that is believed to bring good luck to its owner. Often used in businesses – A raised left paw attracts customers while a raised right paw supposedly attracts money. Also know as the Money Cat it is a symbolic ornament that offers people hope that they will achieve wealth and success. We all know that these ornamental pieces don’t directly produce what they promise. What they do offer is a symbol that you can look at when your feeling beaten. Having one in a highly visible place can give you a constant beacon of light that makes you persevere on something that may at times feel too hard. To believe in the abilities of one of these ornaments (and in effect believe in yourself) you can manifest success. www.mikoto.com.au

Shimpū Tokkōtai (jap. 神風特攻隊) is the Japanese name for the Kamikaze special troops. Kamikaze (jap. 神風, literally: “God-wind”, “god speed”, “light wind”, “spirit-wind” or “divinity-wind”; common translation: “divine wind”) is a word of Japanese origin, which in English usually refers to the suicide attacks by military aviators from the Empire of Japan against Allied shipping, in the closing stages of the Pacific campaign of World War II, to destroy as many warships as possible.
Ignition – the moment of sudden change where immense amounts of energy force inertia and movement. I’ll leave the rest open to interpretation…... (。◕‿‿◕。)
/ / Canvas Print / / Framed Print / Rainbow – Angel of Hope / To remind us there is always hope :) / Rainbow – Angel of Hope is created on brown paper / I use a range of media including pastels, acrylics, charcoal, markers / Rainbow was inspired by my love of Kokeshi Dolls (Japanese wooden dolls) and because rainbows have been on my mind a lot lately, I’ve been incorporating them into lots of my work I hope you like her :)
The oni is a Japanese folkore character that takes on a variety of visual forms and can have just as many symbolic meanings. for example, they are used to ward away bad luck, much as gargoyles in Western tradition, and are commonly used in buildings. My design took its own direction and the oni pictured seems to have become tangled up with an octopus! Scotty /
