Don’t think I’ve ever seen one this early in the year, but this big guy was resting under a friend’s roof over the weekend. Took a few shots and this is the only one where there a small clear bead of moisture on it’s back..? Don’t know if they excrete some sort of scent or something. If anyone know please enlighten me..!! Thanks.

For my Daily Sun Times collection, I went to the inauguration to make sketches for a series of paintings of the sunrise and sunset on Barack Obama’s first day in office. This poster features a painting of the sunrise over Washington as I saw it from the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington.
