Taken in Jamaica
A Jamaican sunset. Mahoe Bay, Ironshore. Produced using the Oils brushes in Painter X from one of my photographs
A Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) settling down for the night at Mahoe Bay, Jamaica.
One of a series taken at Mahoe Bay Jamaica in July 2005. The sunset behind a thin layer of cloud made it look as though the sky was on fire. The bird by the way is a Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) just settling down for the night.
The sun and clouds paint the sky as the day comes to an end in Negril, Jamaica. This was at the beach at Couples Negril on Bloody Bay, a gorgeous calm turquoise bay with glorious sunsets. A Snowy Egret captured in a pose that looked like it was dancing. Taken at Mahoe Bay, Jamaica.
Sunset in Negril, Jamaica. This whole trip for me was about learning how to compose my images. This one in particular I focused on the sun being framed between the palm trees. Taken with the “foliage” setting on my camera with just a little boost with color in digital editing to enhance it.
Mahoe Bay, Little River, Ironshore, Jamaica

My husband and I took a brief childless trip to the adults-only, all-inclusive Couples Negril in Jamaica last February. We ate a lot of tasty food, indulged in some adult beverages, went on a catamaran cruise, relaxed on the beach, and snorkeled – me for the first time! The grounds were lush and tropical, and the beautiful white sand beach was on a calm bay with turquoise water. And of course the sunsets were amazing! While I was travelling in Jamaica I saw what has to be the most amazing sunset that I’ve ever seen. It was so beautiful that it was really overwhelming.
Marley Mandala commissioned for friends 21st birthday – Happy Birthday Alannah! / Acrylic on canvas. Hair is the symbolic antenna of the body, connecting us with the divine. So Bob Marleys dreads connect him with the divine and with us, through his amazing music. It has taken me two and a half years to listen to “Redemption Song” again without bursting into tears (it was played at my late partners funeral) – but when I was painting this mandala, I put on my Marley CD and listened to it in entirety – including Redemption Song. I finally put it all to rest when I picked up my guitar and played it. “These songs of freedom…”
