Please read the story This is Jake and he was a very naughty and a well travelled boy / He lived in Lake Louise Alberta Canada and started to break into cars for food and bother people ..... the park wardens relocated him to Northern Alberta but he came back to Lake Louise ...they relocated him 9 times all over the province but kept coming back to his favourite place which was hundreds and hundreds of miles away ..they finally had to put him down and now resides in the the beautiful Visitor Centre in Field , British Columbia …. Yoho National Park I put him back to where he loves it the most ....the mountains heres where they located him in the sign below
Yes, another cliched sunset shot but they are hard to avoid here in Western Australia. Its still a novelty to see the sun set over the ocean. / I would love some feedback on my composition and technique etc. / This is the framed print with a mocha frame colour and offwhite matt colour. /
Hi everyone. This is my first attempt to try a low key, almost seamless backdrop without using photoshop to burn the background. I am pleased that the backdrop turned out the way it did. I used black material and had him about 4 feet from the backdrop. Canon 40D, 70-200 L Lens, 2 softbox, one on each side. Update: Jake’s Bath Time Fun was featured (10.19.08) in the Group The Beginners’ Corner Thanks so much to Angi and the group. Much appreciated!! I know this is not an original type of pose/props, but I wanted some feedback/critique on this please. More for lighting and setup. I used 2 large softboxes, one to the right (my right) and one in center above my camera. If you notice the catch-lights in his eyes seem to high, so I think I needed to lower the lights down as I did have them higher than him. Also, I forgot to use a plexi to reflect the bubbles and know they look a bit “fake”. Thanks in advance!! Check out more of Jake here and his sister Kaylie here
Update (11.21.08): This photo is in the challenge Black & White Eyes in the group The Eyes Have It If you like it, vote for it. Don’t forget to look through all the photos!! Most of you know the story of Jake. He came to us about 2 months ago now from the Animal Shelter. He weighed only 50 pounds, and was sick…and got sicker and lost more weight. It is a wonder he is still with us, but as you can see he is now a very healthy looking boy. He is still on the thin side, but he is still growing, and eating us out of house and home. His favorite occupation is chewing…and chewing, and chewing. Lucky for us he understands the difference between toys and furniture! This is the third old shoe he has had as a backyard toy…he can destroy one in a couple days. I still cannot understand why anyone would mistreat this dog. I took him with me to the hospital when Bob was in, and he made friends with many of the patients. He is friendly and affectionate, and full of joy. We are so happy he has become a part of our lives! This is the first time Jake has been out and been given the freedom to run the paths and trails at a park. Giving a dog the freedom to roam is like giving your child the keys to the car for his first solo trip. There is a little apprehension!!! Jake did fine. In fact he never let us out of his sight. He loved running with Koko, sniffing and exploring, but he was always making sure he knew where we were…..and he responded to “Come” perfectly. He has come a long way from the sickly, underweight dog with absolutely no training that we rescued from the Animal Shelter. “Koko”:
Jake with his favorite indoor toy. We call it “Softie”, and he loves to carry it around, use it as a pillow, and shake it unmercifully. / Taken especially for my friend John44, who has been teasing me because the previous photo of Jake had his ear tips cut off.
