I then digitally constructed an illuminated dance floor. Next, I digitally seamed together several flat TV screen/monitors and crafted them into a multi-monitor screen . . . underlaying a close-up of me, so that it would look like my image was being projected onto the multi-monitor screen. I had to wade through the darkness of surviving, an abusive childhood, to come out into the light. I am happy to say i’ve arrived at a good place in my healing journey. This image, my words, they reflect a time and place, when things were very dark and the pain was difficult to navigate. In the womb i felt her psychic wounds, / feelings buried alive, never die. / The red stains of pain / refusing to wash off, / her porcelain skin. Here she is surrounded by me, / as the woman for which, / the cycle repeats. I too, fell victim – to predatory hands. / Marked with red stains, / I became, “Red Jane”, / cut with the same knife - / traumatized by the same pain. I step in Of food and sleep – I am deprived / They gladly stepping aside / As I offer myself to her / Yet again . . . Pain of withdrawals almost too much to bear / Then I feel it going in / As she slowly enters my veins / Bliss seeping through my entire being Reality fading to black / As her universe slowly into focus – comes / I-slipping into illusion / Admiring how it fits me like a glove Her world melding with mine / As time ceases ability to define / I partake of her until I can no longer drink / We becoming one Sweet feeling of complete surrender I embrace / Before the light of mundane reality / Does early dawn wake / Chasing my mistress . . .
