  • My daughter wrote and sang this song to me tonight because I have been going through a rough time. She made me so happy….please read the lyrics they will make you smile. Oh and this is a Chine Colle print, which means I pressed tissue paper into the print, then I hand coloured over the paper. Then I held it up to the light to photograph it. “Press On” (A song for my Mum) By 9 year old Jade Sometimes life is harder then it seems / You feel you’re walking up a stream, / But the current tries to push you away. / In the dark, / A black cloud hovers over your heart, / You need somebody to help you, / But I know what will get you through. CHORUS You just gotta Press On! / Even when times are tough! / Just gotta press on! / Even when times are rough! / You, just, gotta press on…..................... Life is like a box of chocolates, / You don’t know what to expect. / Or if you’re playing a game of tennis / You have to make it over the net. / You’re very good at art, / But sometimes you’re in the dark. / Sometimes you need to be shown the way, / To help you get through the day….... CHORUS At times you feel sad, / And at times you’re a little mad, / But it won’t turn bad… / Cuz, now I know you will press on!!!!!!!!!!!! CHORUS / ................................For Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! This is a link to the artwork that Dimarie did for me so that I could buy this song on one of my prints, check it out. • Now you are what I have always been, / You are death, silence, the solitude of earth. / You will not waken, you will not be raised from sleep. / Angels howl in the hollows between the stars, / Monsters weep in the ruined courtyards, among the stones of emptiness. (Gwen Harwood)

  • This WAS the original painting in oils called “Dreaming of Life”. However, I wasnt happy. It did not speak to me. It was dark and I felt nothing when I looked at it. So I have painted over the entire painting. Trying to bring to it what I felt. I hope you like this painting better. Its taken 2 weeks to get it to this from the other one which I will post beside it so you can see the difference. BEFORE I REPAINTED IT. / AFTER I PAINTED IT AGAIN /

  • You’ll return to my garden, my fig tree: / In the high trellises of flowers, / birdlike your soul, the hive / of angelic waxes and labours. / You’ll return to the enamoured farm-hands’ / ploughshares’ lullaby. / You’ll brighten the shadow of my brow, / and your girl and the bees will go along, / on both sides, arguing over your blood. (Miguel Hernandez) /

  • You who were darkness warmed my flesh / where out of darkness rose the seed. / Then all a world I made in me; / all the world you hear and see / hung upon my dreaming blood. There moved the multitudinous stars, / and coloured birds and fishes moved. / There swam the sliding continents. / All time lay rolled in me, and sense, / and love that knew not its beloved. O node and focus of the world; / I hold you deep within that well / you shall escape and not escape- / that mirrors still your sleeping shape; / that nurtures still your crescent cell. I wither and you break from me; / yet though you dance in living light / I am the earth, I am the root, / I am the stem that fed the fruit, / the link that joins you to the night. (Judith Wright) /

  • Mixed Media on Canvas Board 40×60 / Acrylics, textural mediums, creativity and inspiration. FEATURED in ‘Art & Dis(ease)’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Hand painted art of happiness & Joy’ / August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Creative Spirits of Qld’ August, 2009 This is the first piece of art I loaded on RB 10 weeks ago. / A higher quality reload, renamed after it’s proud owner. / Straight photo, no digital enhancements. A very special work of art completed early 2005 just prior to visiting New Zealand, a place that has held an unexplained facination for me, even as a child. This is one of those artworks that even now, years later, I can still remember every brush stroke, every lump, bump and crease. It was easy to be lost in the moment with this one. FEATURED in ‘Art and Dis(ease)’ August 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Hand drawn/painted art of happiness & joy’ August 2009 /

  • We travel / over a mirror / without silver, / over a crystal / without cloud. / If the lilies were to grow / upside down, / is the roses were to grow / upside down, / if all the roots / were to face the stars / and the dead not shut / their eyes, / we would be like swans. (Garcia Lorca)

  • we will grow old in this place / where insistent sun / bleaches the memory / of touchstones. / yet our children feel at home / and grow impatient / with mothers who need road maps / and are frightened of the dark. (Ann Timoney Jenkin)
