  • The tide was out leaving the wonderful colourful boats in St. Ives Harbour. In my original shot on the site I cropped the buildings out as they distracted from the boats but I wanted to leave them in this time as I believe it has added something to the shot. Now I have turned it into a photograph painting, what are your thoughts and comments on it? • Boat in St. Ives 2
    by Anthony Hedger

    US$4.84–US$129.20

This low light shot was the original one I took in colour but because of the orangey colour cast I decided to change it to B&W and Sepia. I wanted to use a street light to my right and out of the frame as the main source of light and a little bit of flash. Which one of the three do you prefer? The little blue boat was captured at St Ives, a Cornish haven for artists for centuries due to the remarkable light. Thank you for looking.

  • St. Ives
    by Anthony Hedger

    US$4.84–US$129.20

This street in St. Ives in Cornwall looked especially colourful as there was a gap in the clouds and the Sun shone through. The crocked line of the houses running down the hill with lichen covering most of the roofs against the grass and sea made a great contrast. Park the car up the hill and walk down a thousand steps (well it felt like it) if your legs will let you that is and explore this lovely town. • Gorse
    by Anthony Hedger

    US$4.84–US$129.20

This gorse was growing at the side of Trencrom Hill, near St. Ives in Cornwall. The contrast in it is remarkable, delicate yellow flowers which look even more striking in the Sun and dark green spiky stems which could rip your skin to bits. If you have never been to Trencrom you have missed a treat because from up the top where giants were said to throw bolders about and the spriggens hid their gold the view is just amazing. One word of advice though and I am going to shout because it is very important: “DON’T FORGET TO TAKE THE CAMERA WITH YOU.” All the Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted or Uploaded In Anyway Without My Permission. St Ives, Cornwall on a spring day. St Ives was isolated for much of its existence except by sea. The town really began to open up to the outside world in 1877 when the Great Western Railway began running its Broad Gauge trains on the new branch line. Not only did this increase accessibility to the rest of Cornwall for the town’s residents but the railway quickly enabled St Ives to establish itself as a popular holiday destination by rail – a popularity which continues to this day,
