View from the third floor of the Villa I am staying at…. every angle has this amazing landscape you could stare at for hours… An incredible painterly feel – the way the light moves in and out and highlights the abodes is awesome.
All the delicious delights and colours of beautiful Tuscany painted in a stylish, colourful, lively composition.
Taken in my homeland, Salento, Puglia, south of Italy.. / I usually spend my summer holiday to my parents place, / I just love observing people fishing, gives me a sense of tranquility.. the sunset was so nice and I grabbed the opportunity to take this picture. / This is exactly the way it looked. / / . /
The Colosseum is probably the most impressive building of the Roman empire. Originally known as the Flavian Amphitheater, it was the largest building of the era. Best shot I got without a tripod – taken 06/12/2007 leaning on a bin!! /

This is La Courtine, one of the most beautiful cliff I’ve ever seen. La Courtine is part of the amazing rocky coast around Etretat in Upper Normandy, France, altogether known as Les Failases d’Etretat. I took this picture last August, on a very windy – as usual over there – late afternoon. / I wanted to have the sea looking as much smooth as possible, but I was in full daylight, as it was around 19:30 hours. Even with the overcasted sky, and even full stopping down the lens, the exposure time was only 1/2 seconds, a too fast time to move the sea surface. Using a polarizer and a 8x ND filter I gained 5 more stops, obtaining therefore, with a slight over-exposure, 20 secs of exposure time. Finally, I used a graduated filter to darken the sky, while keeping a correct exposure on the cliffs and the sea. / This allowed me to give the sea surface a watercolour paint look, and I also obtained a slight movement in the clouds, thanks to the strong wind. I hope you enjoy it, thanks for dropping by. / Paolo
The press loved the Mini on it’s launch in 1959, but sales were unimpressive, but when well known celebrities such as Paul McCartney and Twiggy became owners that the sales went through the roof. I’m pretty sure the Italian Job also had plenty to do with sales post 1969. The scene where the robbers’ Minis are chased through a sewer tunnel were filmed in the Sowe Valley Sewer Duplication system in the English city of Coventry.
Treviso is an attractive town in the Veneto region of north-east Italy, with a population of around 80,000. Rebuilt and restored after Second World War bombing, the town centre is a rambling maze of streets lined with arcaded walkways. Looking up, you’ll see fragments of the painted frescoes which once decorated Treviso’s houses. The town is circled by a town wall and by waterways. This is one of 2 pictures I am loading of the Grand Canal, I have a few more, but these where the 2 I been debating over for a while. I like them both for different reasons and could not decide which I preferred. This one I like for the subtle reflection and the light on the homes along the bank, and of course the Lone Gondolier. It was a day full of many seasons, the few days we were there at about 3.30pm the clouds got very dark and it poured like we were in the tropics. Only to clear up as fast as it came around 4pm, and then we could all venture out again. Venice is a magical place.
Taken during my trip to Rome, Italy. These are the endless rows of chairs right in front of the Vatican.

Cinque Terre meaning “The Five Lands” is a portion of the coast along the Italian Riviera. This shot was taken in Riomaggiore one of the five villages that make up Cinque Terre.
I just love the muted but colorful tones on this shot taken through a wet bus window. Hope you like it too. This reminded me of a Renoir painting, The Umbrellas Thank you to The Human Condition and the I Love Italy groups for featuring this work!

reflections in Arno River, Florence, Italy Canon 450D EOS _ kit Featured in the group Italy and all Things Italian / - Original lyrics by Petrarch, found in 1985 in Erfurt I could not in my own case look for more musical tongues or more flexible minds among the common people than I noted in the rendering of those authors whom long favour and habit have made popular in the theatres and public squares. That my apprehensions were not idle is clear from the fact that I am continually tortured by the tongues of the people, as they sing the few productions which I allowed to escape me in my youth. I indignantly reject and hate what I once loved ; and day by day walk the streets with vexation and execrate my own talents. Everywhere a crowd of ignorant fellows, everywhere I find my Damoetas ready at the street corner “to murder with his screeching reed ” my poor song. Al ako vas hoću, zdvajat nemam prava, / Suprotni me vjetri, kroz šumu i bjesnoću, / Tjeraju u čamcu vrh bezdana plava. Slab razbor i grijesi razlog su mi sjeti, / Tako da ne znam sam stvarno što hoću, / Te se znojim zimi a cvokoćem ljeti.
