  • THE DINNER PARTY INVITE
    by Michelle Dorfe

    US$4.84–US$96.90

This piece was a drawing done in ink. It was originally for a dinner party invite and when I saw how nice the sketch came out I used it for prints! It has been digitally enhanced with color and text. The words are in Italian and loosely mean “Dinner Party” with the time and date. / This print is available as a greeting card or a canvas print…both of which you can frame easily! Thanks for looking! by Krys Bailey

    US$4.84–US$129.20

The beautiful, unspoiled, relatively isolated (until I opened my big mouth) Val di Funes, in the northern part of the Italian Dolomites. Each year when we visit the Dolomites (home from home – remember I AM a marmot), we try to get to spend a few hours, with a picnic (make mine an Asti Spumante!) in this peaceful and amazing place. Unfortunately, the vista here faces north – we need to try and get here earlier/later in the day for a clearer shot of those jagged spires.

  • will nobody love me?
    by Adriana Glackin

    US$3.71–US$74.10

An abandoned Victorian Italianate style house (c.1880-90) in Annandale, an inner city suburb of Sydney. Sitting proudly in a corner position of this hip and happening suburb, it had once been loved and cared for – if you look closely, you can see that one of the previous owners, at some stage, installed an alarm – a measure sure to deter possible intruders. Today, some of the lacework is missing, the fence posts have deteriorated, the concrete probably has cancer, the garden is full of weeds, steps to the front door are missing…will nobody love it anymore?

  • Vespa
    by Rosina Lamberti

    US$3.85–US$102.60

THE BIRTH OF A LEGEND Vespa is more than a humble scooter. Piaggio was founded in Genoa in 1884 by twenty-year-old Rinaldo Piaggio. It took shape thanks to the successful co-operation of the aeronautical engineer and inventor Corradino D’Ascanio (1891-1981). The Vespa (wasp in Italian) was the result of Enrico Piaggio’s determination to create a low cost product so anyone could afford one. • Italian Lady
    by Kevin Pritchard

    US$4.28–US$114.00

  • I’m working on something grand and colossal at the moment, and I couldn’t resist not to do this. I hope this doesn’t give too much away, but I did this one yesterday, and i had to take the piss, and do this to her. The significance of that phone number is that yhe word yakuza means 8 9 3. / Ya means 8, Ku 9 and Za 3. It comes from the Japanese card game Oicho-Kabu which is similar to Black Jack. 8 9 3 is the worst possible hand you could be dealt. The Kanji means: to reheat • to steam over • to bring up again • to take up again a problem that has been dealt with. If this “bird” showed up at your door step I’m not sure if it would be so appetising, the angel of death perhaps? ;)

  • In Awe
    by Robert Knapman

    US$4.28–US$114.00

My favourite place in the house. This is a copy of an Italian painting which resides in the living room of the home where I live – the advantages of living with an art restorer

  • The press loved the Mini on it’s launch in 1959, but sales were unimpressive, but when well known celebrities such as Paul McCartney and Twiggy became owners that the sales went through the roof. I’m pretty sure the Italian Job also had plenty to do with sales post 1969. The scene where the robbers’ Minis are chased through a sewer tunnel were filmed in the Sowe Valley Sewer Duplication system in the English city of Coventry.

  • These are rather like broad tagliatelle and I prepared the dish like this… / Roast about 10 cherry tomatoes cut in half, in olive oil with 5 garlic cloves and a sprinkle of dried chili for twenty minutes. Halfway through the roasting, add some small whole mushrooms. I used oyster, buna-shimeji and shiro-shimeji varieties. Meanwhile bring some water to the boil, add salt and the pappardelle. After 5 minutes, add a handful of baby spinach leaves and cook for a further 6 minutes. / Serve the pasta with the roasted, tomatoes, garlic and mushrooms. / Total preparation and cooking time 25 minutes. Bon appetitto! The lighting was overcast daylight (the best diffusser) through my kitchen window. N.B. This image is not for sale as it is best cooked.
