It may be a ‘new’ version of an old shot …but is it improved…? hmm….thats the question…. (CLICK ‘next’ to compare….) The original untouched dawn mist was my 2nd ever post to rb with taken with my brand-new pocket fuji finepix A500… and it’s been the most popular shot in my gallery by far. It’s just reached the unbelievable figure of 100 faves – how awesome and mindboggling is that!! So this plus a new challenge gave me the idea of tweaking it slightly to see if it could be improved on . I fiddled with the jpg as camera raw in PS Els 6… / Comments, comparisons and suggestions most welcome as I’d love to know what you think….. Cheers and thanks everyone for all your awesome encouragement and support all along which has really got me hooked in and loving photography more than ever… Thanks so much for looking too.. ding / :)))) Captured just after dawn at Loch Voil near Balquidder in Scotland,
But then, don’t we all. Featuring the wonderful Meg www.megsmad.deviantart.com

The butterfly and birds were taken from my painting “Thoughts and Things” and the white flower is an old plastic earring….the teapot was given to me by my father who knows I collect tiny silver things like this…..from an op shop somewhere, thank you dad! The table is a cork! Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

There are so many tips’n’tricks, tutorials, enhancements and various other interesting articles listed around Redbubble. I’ve decided it is time to revitalise the articles I have written. / Why? Because so many writers are long-winded, overly-descriptive and their instructions are near impossible to navigate. I believe my documents cover the many issues necessary to run a successful redbubble gallery, allowing artists to successfully present their portfolio to all clientele. If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not die? And if you wrong us, shall we not revenge? -Shakespeare Every year sealers bludgeon seals with clubs and “hakapiks” (clubs with a metal hook on the end), drag conscious seals across the ice floes with boat hooks, and toss dead and dying animals into heaps and leave their carcasses to rot because there is no market for their meat. Seals are also shot, but bludgeoning is preferred, because pelt buyers deduct money for every bullet hole in a seal’s skin. Veterinarians who studied a past hunt concluded that the hunters failed to comply with Canada’s basic animal welfare standards and that 42 percent of the seals appeared to have been skinned alive. Despite Canada’s ‘new and improved’ methods being implemented this year, sealers are still slaughtering these pups in the same way they have for previous years. It’s unconscionable. For more information, please visit any of the following websites for first-hand accounts and ways you can help save the seals. I came across this photo that I had forgotten about. I took the shot in NYC while passing a store. It was the display window. I desaturated it to B&W and added a bit of color and more darkness for an eerie sort of feeling—-as if it really is a doll factory. It’s as if it’s the future…HUMAN CLONES in the making. / It has a sort of CURRENT ISSUES feeling…and so I am adding this image to my CURRENT ISSUES Group. Yikes….Cloning. Would you like a clone of yourself? Actually, if I could…I’d make a baby clone of me. Yes. :)

Vendors selling The Big Issue Magazine are part of the disadvantaged in our community looking to improve their lives..they receive 50% of all proceeds of sales. The Big Issue Australia is a socially progressive enterprise that tackles the issues of homelessness, marginalisation and disadvantage in creative and innovative ways. Not only do they publish The Big Issue current affairs magazine they also run Education Programs aimed at challenging primary and secondary students to break down stereotypes surrounding homelessness, and help promote tolerance and empathy, as well as a community Street Soccer Program aimed at reconnecting homeless people with their community, & with the hope of providing them with a sense of purpose and belonging. Most critically, it aims to boost self-esteem and provide a vision for a brighter future. If we consider ourselves to be part of a civilised society, then none of us can really afford to ignore the Big Issues.
found in an alley way in Cowes Phillip Island. Not exactly a gritty urban existence but the message was there all the same!
Was designing a T-shirt with my design and came up with this and really liked it ! I hope you do too !
Just my way of proving a point. We are suffering because of the greed from the oil companies.
what can I say. War kills.
Found on a wall in Carlton. This has been up for years. Still poignant in its message.
