Early reflections on a lake where a wood log is standing

I happened upon this butterfly in the woods one day and knew it was different from the common ones I normally see. Audubon’s Field Guide to Insects and Spiders revealed it was a Question Mark Butterfly, so named because of a marking that looks similar to that punctuation mark on the backside of its wings. I removed the original background using PS and added this orange shimmer to accentuate the lovely color of this unusual butterfly.

After delivering some pictures to the York photographic society exhibition I took the back roads home and came upon this scene. The land is very hot and dry but their was the prospect of rain as these cloads appeared. PLEASE VIEW LARGE

This little baboon was all by his lonesome on the branch of a dead tree, on the banks of The Chobe River, Botswana. We were wondering why he was all alone, while a whole congress of baboons were having the time of their lives further down the bank. Our guide told us he was banished from the congress, either temporarily, or permanently. I felt a bit bad for this guy, but then again, don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time! Original shot destaurated and layered with texture from www.deviantart.com – struckdumb. Colour desaturated in one layer of texture and increased in second.
