White Island (Whakāri, off North Island, New Zealand) has changed dramatically over the last century, the last eruption being in 1997. I took this photo of the bridge which leads to Grand Isle, Louisiana, which is a barrier island between the Louisiana coast and the Gulf of Mexico. I thought the quotation by Hans Nouwens went well with the photo.
