  • A glorious sunset of Southern California Coast near San Diego.

  • A cleat left from a jetty long since eroded and swept away by the tides on a South Maui Beach with the sacred island of Kahoolawe bathing in the light of the rising sun.

  • the locals go off

  • On my first visit to Chile, we were the first passengers to sail the Kaweskar Route of the southern fjords on the Skorpios III. The weather was terrible most of the time (typical Patagonia n springtime) and the day before this, visibility was nil. Imagine our surprise when this day we woke up to this serene and magical sight. I think it is the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen – photos cannot do it justice.

  • The luxurious black sand beach of Hamoa / Hana Maui Hawai’i Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved

  • As I crawled from my tent with blurred eyes, I could see that the sun was going to rise perfectly behind Alau Island. This image was unplanned, yet a perfectly wonderful stroke of luck.

  • The Old Salt Barn on Ka’ono’ulu Ranch is fixin’ to fall down any day now, the owner told me. And so I made this old building my priority. Shooting HDR style, was able to capture the full glory of the UpCountry Maui sunset.

  • This photograph is a sunrise shot taken at Halona Cove on O’ahu’s eastern shore. The sun appeared to be rising straight out of Haleakala or “House of the Sun” on Maui. Halona Cove is also known as “From Here to Eternity” Beach. This is the location where Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster embraced in the surf in a memorable, steamy scene from the movie of that title. • Sun Setting Over Dent Island © Vicki Ferrari This was another sunset taken from the mighty nightly War Canoe Sunset Cruise, looking over Dent Island, towards the mainland (Shute Harbour and Airlie Beach,Australia). It was taken around 1990, using my old Minolta SLR (a great workhorse!). I have scanned this 6X8 print from my one of my portfolios, with basic editing in photoshop but basically it is as it was taken back then! Thanks for looking!

  • Rarotongan surf. The kiwis hang out for some surf that we don’t get in far north queensland. This was great.

  • The future is always beginning now. Mark Strand

  • Heart Reef © Vicki Ferrari A scan of an original print, taken using a Minolta SLR, back in the early 1990’s. / Heart Reef is located north of Hamilton Island, on the Great Barrier Reef, in North Queensland, Australia. It was named Heart Reef because, and obviously, it looks like a heart! / This photograph was taken from one of my regular chopper rides up on the island. I never got sick of flying in choppers, or seeing the amazing reef from the air! When you are at the Whitsundays, well worth visiting the Reef by helicopter! The view is amazing!
