One of many frozen Willow trees lining the edge of Lake Wanaka, waiting for the dawn’s first light to warm them for a new day. At first I was disappointed not being able to see the lake and the mountains due to the heavy fog on the water. That soon changed!
I took this picture on the steepest island of the world…La Palma (canarian islands). Although it’s the steepest island of the world it’s very rare that it’s snowy on top of the biggest vulcanic mountain. / It was a lucky week so I drove all the way up to the “Roche De Los Muchachos”>>> / (3000 metres high). Shortly before I reached the top a little cave caught my attention. / I went inside and discovered beautiful, thick icicles. The energy there was incredible….it felt pure….above the clouds…elements. check what the product looks like here thank you for stopping by!
The Province of British Columbia is considered the jewel of Canada, i would have to agree.

The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by me SBC, with my painting, and drawings. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda through my eyes. This art won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. It is presently being considered for exhibition at the Royal Navy Dockyard Museum in Bermuda. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!
Shortly after the dream, the mountains breathed out a morning glow across the still surface of a murky glacial lake.
Giant Blue Clams from Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Indian Ocean Territories, Australia. The wonderful, luminous colours of the clams make them shine underneath the water. When snorkelling of diving in Cocos they are a wonder to see. The clams pictured above are reared beachside in a large salt water nursery. Visitors to the islands can visit the clam farm and learn more about these amazing creatures. This has been my most successful print to date. It won the Wildlife Category of the Expose Your World Photography Awards 2008 (national) and the Open Colour Section of the York Society Photography Awards 2008 (state), as well as a Highly Commended in the Melville Art Awards 2008 (state) and a Highly Commended in the ANZANG Nature Photography Awards 2008, Underwater category (national) and a Highly Commended in the Jan/Feb Fujifilm Showcase Photography Competition. It has also been published in “Camera Magazine” (Jan/Feb issue) . To take it I leant over the water to drop my shadow over the glare on the surface. Of course, the clams saw me do this and thought i was a predator, so they closed. I stood at an almost 90% angle for several minutes until they opened up again. I managed to take 3 frames before they sensed my movement and closed. Canon 5D, ISO 400, f8, AV MODE, 24-105MM L Series Canon Lens / Handheld, no flash, Auto White Balance. As is from camera. Background Information: / Tofino is a village of about 1,650 residents on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in British Columbia, Canada, located at the western terminus of Highway 4. It is located at the tip of the Esowista Peninsula, and is thus a part of Clayoquot Sound. Islands in the vicinity include Meares, Vargas and Flores. Lone Cone on Meares Island is an extinct volcano. Tofino and the nearby town of Ucluelet are the closest towns to the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. The settlement of Tofino first acquired the name in 1909 with the opening of the Tofino Post Office, named in association with Tofino Inlet nearby. Tofino Inlet was named in 1792 by the Spanish commanders Galiano and Valdés, in honor of Admiral Vicente Tofiño, under whom Galiano had learned cartography. A popular tourist destination in the summer, Tofino’s population swells to many times its winter size. It attracts surfers, nature lovers, campers, whale watchers, fishermen, or anyone just looking to be close to nature. In the winter it is not as bustling, however, many people visit Tofino and the west coast to watch storms on the water. Close to Tofino is Long Beach, a scenic and popular year-round destination, at the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. Nearby Maquinna Marine Provincial Park, with its natural hot springs, is located about 45 kilometres (28 mi) north of Tofino and is also a popular day-trip destination for tourists although it is only reachable by boat or float plane. 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of this item, will be donated to Bush Heritage Australia Photo of Gentoo Penguins taken during a light snow storm on Curville Island Antarctic Peninsula. The Gentoo Penguin is listed as Near Threatened on the IUCN Red list of Threatened Species Melting sea ice and overfishing have triggered a dangerously rapid decline in penguin populations on the Antarctic peninsula – a direct result of global warming, warns a new report from the WWF. Temperatures on the frozen continent are rising five times faster than the global average due to the unprecedented rate of climate change, pushing four species perilously close to extinction. Warmer temperatures are forcing penguins to raise their young on increasingly thinner and more precarious ice floes, while stronger winds mean many eggs and chicks are being blown away from their parents before they are able to survive on their own. The gentoo, chinstrap and adélie – along with the emperor, the largest penguin species in the world – are now struggling to survive as melting sea ice destroys nesting sites and reduces vital food sources, such as krill.
