Here is the partner piece to “364, The Southbank” and now forms the complete set together with the artwork “The Chiv and the Goose”. Harsh art for the soft heart, but tough love in a rough world is more reliable. Blessings.

Oil on canvas Queen of the Heavens who agrees to surrender her crown, jewels, scepter etc to visit her Shadow sister in the Underworld. At seven gates she is stripped seven times of everything she thinks she is, and crucified to discover who she truly is….an undying Light. This ancient Sumerian myth is one of the first to express crucifixion and resurrection. Such myths are reflections of the suns 3 waning days at the Winter Solstice, but is psychologically a metaphor for the times in our lives when we lose all that we think is important, and in the pain and debris, find the strength of our true nature within. (original oil on canvas 90cm x 120cm – $2,000)
Oil on Canvas – 45×60cm – AU $600 Nuit is the Egyptian Sky Goddess often made of stars. Her priestesses were known to bodily invoke the Goddess in all Her glory. According to the ancient texts, during the erotic dance ritual the priestesses would achieve states of gnosis and communion with the Divine in which great truths were revealed. She is akin to High Priestess tarot card, especially the half moon at the crown and pillar quality of the veils. The stars signify the tantric energies rising in the base, releasing at the crown and balancing at the heart. Many thanks to my model, a Tribal Fusion dance instructor, for being the ultimate muse and a truly inspiring, modern day Priestess of Nuit!
