Pure and simple unadulterated fun, right? Apparently not so! / / Here’s an excerpt of the rejection notice we received: / / The following Zazzle Custom Stamp could not be approved: / Product Title: Mr. Frog’s Belch / Product Type: Stamp / Product ID: 172719026690854964 / Contributor: crockpot / Result: Not Approved / Policy Violations: / Includes material that Zazzle believes would hurt its reputation. / May be considered violent, profane, deceptive, abusive, menacing, harmful, or threatening. / / My guess is that Zazzle thought the design might offend people. (Whatever.) But to give the standard, impersonal rejection that they did is a bit much. It’s an f’ing cartoon of a frog, for crying out loud!! / / “Includes material that Zazzle believes would hurt its reputation.” / Are you kidding me??? / They need NO help with hurting their rep. They already do a damn fine job of that on their own. Poorly printed products, printing products where the design is upside-down or inverted, sending out the WRONG products to customers, HORRIBLE customer service when it comes to resolving issues and “24-hour shipping” that takes 2 weeks (for a magnet!) are just a few of the things in Zazzle’s hallmark of reputation. / / And they’re worried about Mr. Frog burping. / / Mike and I have been laughing our asses off. This is just so hilarious and all too typical of Zazzle. / / OMG… I laugh so hard every time I read that. / / At any rate, I just HAD to share this with you all. Yeeeeaaah….after a long day of chores, running around and my weekend cleaning…I began to log on to my favorite site…only to find, one of my newest works staring back at me…and let out a small yelp of joy…to myself! ;) / It’s strange almost to see my own work on the homepage…I always check out what works are featured; it’s a great way to find new artists to watch and I really enjoy the themes. Now that there’s a mosaic for clothing I had to do for that mosaic what I did for PAX. Turns out I’ve got one t-shirt in there (and, again, it’s the one I expected): / Tendrils This did involve extending (the now incorrectly named) getrbart so that it can optionally export a list of clothing. I’ll be releasing a new version of that a little later on (it’s now released). It’s also reminded me that I really should rework RBArtMan so that it too isn’t just about art but lets you work with clothing too. When I find some time I’ll have to see about sorting that out. I think it’s also about time that I added a clothing page to my RedBubble wrapper site.

This goes to show the benefits of (1) looking in strange and unlikely places for photo subjects (under an old piece of tin!!) (2) posting photos that you maybe don’t feel are absolute masterpieces (I was of two minds about this one!) and (3) entering challenges ‘just in case’ !!!! I have had enough!.... I have been working on a logo for Jemima Loves Big Ted for a loooooooooong, looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time and I am totally at a loss. I hate each and every design that I have managed to come up with, and I think its now my turn to put it out there to you fellow designers to help me with it. I am willing to pay, however having just finished being a student and not having loads of work right now, I am not rolling in it. Would saaaaay…. $100 be enough to tempt some people? I am going to follow along the same sort of guidelines (and thanks for the inspiration Dan) of Tate in his quest for his look and that is - 1. I will choose my favourites from the submissions and put it to a public vote. 2. I may not decide to use any of the submissions, but if I do choose a logo that knocks my socks off I will pay the designer $100 cash or equivalent in any other form of currency or services (I am a great cook and love gardening, I even do lawn mowing) 3. You have until 23rd October to get your designs in (is that long enough?) After which voting, then choosing. Inspiration – Ummmmmm….. Damn, I don’t feel particularly inspired right now and have been going over this for years so whatever you can come up with is probably better. Colours – Not the biggest fan of pink, but will certainly allow it, if it looks UBER Cool within the design. Note: It does not have to be a literal interpretation of my name.
