This is a marble Ionic Pillar from the Erechtheum Temple, situated on the Acropolis in Athens, from the middle classical period.
Image captured by an externally mounted camera on the WGayte Arcology, Victory, Terra Nullis of the effects of atmospheric ionisation on one of the few remaining stretches of late 20th century high tension wires. Severe weather conditions coupled with massive sunspot activity and, after a comparitively long span of 70 000 years, a reversal in the polarity of Sol III’s magnetic field (on average it switches every 25 000 to 32 000 years) caused many localised ionic storms. Most were like this one and more of a display, but some, including the one that destroyed the Ruhrburg Arcology in 2106 were far more devastating. Or it could be a heavily edited (HDR1, saturations and levels) image og the top of the Newport Power Station stack and a high tension wire pylon on the banks of the Yarra River in Melbourne.

For those not familiar with Dublin, this is a view of the Spire on O’Connell street, from under the Georgian portico of the GPO. The GPO has quite a history and is considered a symbol of Irish nationalism and Irish national history.. During the Easter Rising of 1916, the GPO served as the headquarters of the uprising’s leaders. The original columns outside are still pocked with bullet-marks. An original copy of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic is on permanent display in the GPO. The Spire of Dublin, officially titled the Monument of Light, is a large, stainless steel, pin-like monument 120 meters in height, located on the site of the former Nelson’s Pillar(which was blown up in 1966).
