Water based oils on canvas. This Painting has been channelled as a vibrational healing tool. It raises the vibration for those viewers or those in close proximity due to the energy wavefield it creates. This drawing embodies most of what interested me and drove my art in the last 90’s early 2000’s – working in charcoal and earth colours like the cave painters of Lascaux; expressing the unconscious images that arose and intuitively developing them. In many of my drawing of that time I scratched and gouged the paper, rubbing out, painting over, so that the result was a distressed surface. Nightbirds also reflects that I’m often insomniac, kept awake by the ‘night terrors’ .... drawing them is a way of co-opting them, making them into a strength instead of draining away your power. Charcoal pastel and conte on paper.

“Silver Threads & Golden Needles, couldn’t mend this heart of mine…” A digital collage inspired by this beautiful song of love and loss… This song was written by Jack Rhodes and Dick Reynolds and was first recorded by Wanda Jackson in 1956. Others who recorded this song were: * UK pop group the Springfields in 1962 * An early 1960s recording by Janis Joplin * The Grateful Dead performed the song several times * Linda Ronstadt * English folk rock singer Sandy Denny * In 1993, the country trio Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn recorded the song together on the album Honky Tonk Angels. Parton, Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris also performed the song as a trio on an episode of Parton’s 1976 variety show Dolly!
