A whole new world has opened up before me…...........I promise I to something more creative than flowers but for right now I am blown away by these little worlds right in front of me!
Arcylic painting with mixed media. This idea was taken from my young childhood days sketchbook . / Sometimes i used to go in a big field, away from it all.. / with my skecthbook and paints, looking up at the sun, to me the sun’s rays used to look like all these sparkling, and dazzling rays, coming towards me. With the fields and corn everywhere, i used to see patterns and images , as the breeze blew them into this and that shape, or is it, and always be, the fact i just have a creative head with illusions in me, .............. don’t know, will anyone ever understand how i see things….......
Islamic art, typically, though not entirely focuses on the depiction of patterns and Arabic calligraphy. If you have ever seen Arabic calligraphy you could see that it manages to be both structured as well as organic at the same time. Similar are so many Islamic pattern, they have a strong geometrical sense but still posses great fluidity. This picture is an example of such, it is a hand painted Islamic pattern on the wall of a mosque in Yazd, Iran. The rich colors and the flowing lines are a wonder to see.

What you see here is the first of seven works of art to be posted over the next seven days – the results of a seven day smackdown between myself, and the fabulous Angi Sullins and Silas Toball – where Angi made a traditional collage, and then gave it to Silas and I, letting us loose on it with our photoshop skills. :) Here is a link to their page: / Here is Silas’ version: / And here is Angi’s original art collage that we worked from: /

The intricate little flower of Love-in-the-mist, Nigella damascena ‘Persian Jewel series’ can also be known as Devil in a bush, but I prefer the love version! Nikon D300, Nikkor 105 micro VR, F/5.6, ISO L1.0, hand held, natural light, texture applied to give misty feel.
