  • The Dan from N.O.L.A.N
    by Cathie Tranent

How did you discover Redbubble, and what made you stay? The same as a lot of people in the early days, via Annelli’s Blog on The Age…

When Jo explained the concept of the survey questions to me, I knew immediately who I wanted my first interview to be. One of the very first people I didn’t previously know to comment on my work was this man. During the last twelve months, he has inspired me, teased and tormented me, commented honestly on my work, and made me think. When I approached him, to ask whether he would be interviewed his response was no. And then came “I want you to ask some other questions”. And so the “bloody photographer” was made stretch again – what do you ask someone responsible for “Fear and Loathing at Redbubble”, the wicked Scott Robinson interviews and indeed an interview with Pilgrim himself? I hope you all enjoy reading this … I know I found out some things I didn’t know about a man I respect, admire, don’t always understand, but am proud to consider a friend.

  • The sj Lawford Interview
    by Danny

The cat shot me a sideways look and sulked away lest I got any ideas about starting there and then.

Another old one but released again to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Lawford joining Red Bubble. / Lawford is quite an under rated writer on this site and should be noticed not so much for his style but for his speed at putting together an idea and its high quality when it comes to challenges. / I have never met Lawford and this interview could be considered a collaboration piece. / I think he lives near where I grew up so it makes him less of a bastard than most. / Tell a friend / Enjoy

  • The sjem interview
    by Danny

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I entered the ramshackle residence of popular Red Bubble Tshirt designer sjem, but I had learnt one thi…

This interview was sort of commissioned by RB to coincide with the announcement of sjem winning the first RB TShirt contest. / Around August 2007 I think? / I had spent ages communicating with sjem and his alter ego over many days to get it right and have a balanced interview without giving to much of his private life away (at the stage people were still a bit cautious about their real lives on this site and understandably so) SO after a couple of drafts and more toing and froing I threw the whole thing in the bin and wrote this in ten minutes. / It is a more honest and reflective piece of a wonderful man with a great sense of humour. / This is also the only piece of mine that has been censored. Ed Redman asked me to change a line because he thought it might upset the bosses “sensibilities”. / Wanker. / If I ever meet the wowser I’ll give him a piece of my mind to this day I often leave silly remarks on his “art farty” photography whenever he posts (which is not often thank goodness). / This is the uncensored piece. / Tell your friends / Enjoy.

  • The Scott (Resisto) Robinson Interview with added Robot
    by Danny

Some bastard was taking the piss at my expense.

Ah… this is the one that made me think that there could possibly be a theme running through the previous pieces and link them together eventually. / This was my first collabaration with Scott and I think we may be up number 6 or 7 now. (indirectly and dirsectly) / Tell your friends / Enjoy

  • The Big Three Interview

Ahhh ..sweet memories (or it the part where all the photographers get fried that gets me misty eyed) / this was originally done in two parts as a bit of a joke but became the basis for the whole story to continue and eventually have a neat end. / This was done about October 2007 I think. / Tell your friends / Enjoy

  • The STRINGER interview
    by Danny

’ll put it on record; there is no colder, wetter or windier place on this planet like Queenstown Tasmania. It only stops raining long eno…

This is what I wrote the first time in Nov 2007 (i think) / The long awaited Red Bubble Profile on Ivan Stringer / This story incorporates many facts about Stringer / Stringer has been more than generous in his answers, time and photos he has supplied for this story It was by far the most popular because at that stage STRINGER was bigger than Texas (still is as far as I’m concerned) but he doesn’t hang around much these days with the exception of the odd guerrilla attack . / This also got attacked by a group of fuck wits who thought they were the new “in crowd” and thought they dictated what was “right”. I was criticized for doing a profile on someone popular. / The fact that no one EVER turned down a profile (including the head fuckwit who lead the assault) and everyone I profiled assisted in the process, ironically STRINGER more than anyone else. / It made me stop doing GONZO pieces with the exception of the last one that tied all the writing pieces together.Tell a friend / Enjoy.
