Once upon this was a dining chair – but now it spends long days outside the back fly-screen door – dried and cracked. / ... / The “FIL” sits upon it to pull boots on in morning. / ... / All day the chair sits, unmoving, uncaring, withstanding the sun. / ... / He sits down at night to wrench boots off. / ... / All night the chair stays, tolerating possums, ignoring the dog, withstanding the dew. / ... / This chair has done well thus far. welcome .. come on in and have a seat … chilly night out, yes? ... I started a log in the fireplace .. should warm us up a bit … anything to drink? ... please be comfortable … I rarely get company nowadays … people are beginning to think I’m becoming a recluse .. lol … I think they just don’t like coming out here .. too far off the beaten path …..... a little music? good … ah let’s see … how about Sergei Rachmaninoff playing his 2nd piano concerto in c minor ... so very nice for a night like this …. oh it’s his recording with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra … think it was directed by Leopold Stokowski … you remember him don’t you? he was oh how would you say .. oh so theatrical and bit of a renegade … I so loved to watch him wave his hands around lol … and I so love this concerto … I choose it on purpose .. you must know that .. yes? ah yes … yes it was .. we went together .. oh what an elegant pair we made .. or so we thought lol …. ah it seems just like yesterday .. the years certainly have flown by …. do you remember how when we met Sergei after the concert .. how he went on and on about feeling and creating from the heart? he was so passionate about his work … not like Prokofiev … remember what Sergei said of Prokofiev? lol … he does not exalt .. he broods … lol ….... all that and with that delightful Russian accent ….... what a night that was ….. where did we go after that? I can’t seem to remember …. we did? over to Dottie’s? oh yes now I remember … that god awful boring party of hers … bunch of stuffed shirts .. lol … Mr. and Mrs. Roger Higgersfeld …. oh my yes I remember now .. the old baffoon … keep talking on and on and on about politics and to the point that even Sir Jeffrey was beginning to yawn … wonder what ever happened to him … last I heard he was off to Bavaria or some such place … another drink? could you put another log on the fire for me please … it is quite chilly out tonite …. here’s your drink, deary … ah yes that really was a great concert … yes listening to it does bring back so many memories …. listen … the theme is played here again … there is a yearning yes? ... oh yes I so agree .. there is hope too … and when all else fails there is always hope … / . / — / . / suggest if you’ve read this far that you read all the comments and my replies … you’ll find out what happened to Sir Jeffrey and what the shawl was designed after (big smile) .. and who know what other tidbits you might find (grin) / . / This is the another in a series of Shawls I’ve been working on with stories to go along with these images like this mini story (big smile) ... no critique asked for .. it’s not perfect but I hope it pleases you while you listen to the music and view my work (big smile) ps. youtube removed the original piece I used in the story … wish you could have heard it .. much better than the one I replaced it with … Rochmaninov plays with much more emotion … Work done in PaintShopPro and Gimp. I’m going through my old files and found this of a hibiscus stamen. I love hibiscus, especially the stamen because it’s fuzzy and reminds me of fuzzy lolipops haha. Anyway, I took this with my sigma 105mm macro lens. Enjoy!

In Honor of my Father who never got to dive deep beneath the ocean but had worked for the company that built parts for the Alvin .. he once told me that he did all the accounting for the parts (big smile) ... around the same time he went back to school to become a computer programmer. I was introduced to flowcharts and binary and machine language .. it was so exciting.. although I have no fondness for Fortran and Cobol LOL … the computer that my father worked on filled a large room! sadly he died before computers became a household necessity .. I know if he had he would have shared the same passion that I also have for the electronic beasties (grin) ..... thanks dad for turning me onto computers! (big smile) ps. He was also an artist (big smile) .... I’m also very proud of this work. It is only the 2nd image I rendered in XenoDream (big smile) 3D work done in XenoDream with post work in Gimp. Beyond the Great Hall through hidden door was a small room with this tiling on one wall. The remaining walls were painted the same red as the tile. When I say small I really mean small too. It’s height no higher than a tall human reaching up. More like a closet in size. I hid in this room along with Yarelis to hide from the Goblins. There was nary one torch to light the room but the the Portal glowed blood red in the dark. There was magic indeed in it and we were soon to find out just what kind of magic it was.
