I love how water clings to different objects and creates such shapes… This is just an ordinary dandelion puffy thing after it rained one day. Taken with a Sigma 105mm macro lens…
A fading bloom in my garden… the petals would curl up at the end of it’s life cycle.
One of the stranger graffiti locations in Melbourne, this was taken in Presgrave Place just near Little Collins Street in the city. There are many of these picture frames littered all over the wall with portrait photographs of women. HDR processed in Photomatix, then worked on in Lightroom Sales 1 Greeting Card Click here for my other images of laneways and graffiti.
I could see the wave coming and was able to hit the shutter button just before grabbing the camera and running to high ground. Taken: Narrabeen, Sydney, Australia / Canon 30D, Sigma 10-20mm, Lee Filters / 1/4 sec | f/22 | 10 mm

You know the grips in a water bottle… well that’s what this is. I took the aquafina label off, and put some colorful wrapping paper behind it. There was a few bubbles in the water, which looked cool with the texture of the bottle. It looks like a droplet continuously dropping into a puddle to me…haha. Enjoy! I used my 105mm macro lens for this.

A mixed media on canvas that unfolded over a period of 12 months and recently came together as this, rather unusual piece of work that incorporates a variety of mediums including collage, acrylic, gesso, sand, inks and guache… pretty much anything that I wanted. I guess the theme remained one of experimentation and my attitude stayed playful and open to where the painting wanted to lead me. Most of my work, particularly my abstracts, are intuitive, there is no prior thought process or decision on what I want to create and I let the work take me on a path rather than me moulding it from the early stages. Perhaps this is why this painting unfolded as a game, and on a slightly more deeper level, is about the games we play and the gambles we take in our lives. Please follow me ... oh, and one last point of interest. Some of you have already commented or favourited the previous versions of this painting, guess it goes to show how much our work can change in a short space of time. Pretty exciting to watch this journey as I enter my 3rd year of painting. Have a happy day and thanks for looking : ) LARGE SCALE VIEWING IS RECOMMENDED
Someone must have been snow blind when they abandoned this little cabin off the side of the road – no I didn’t hang out the window – it was snowing so much that we pullled over so I could capture this photo. I thought it looked quite interesting in this snow storm. It was in the middle of a meadow in such a peaceful place, it makes you wonder why it was abandoned. There is a whole lot of media out their wanting fat juicy stories to fill pages, air time and pixels. You probably don’t realize how interesting you really are. This little challenge is designed to get you thinking about ways to turn your story into some free publicity and media love. 1. Write a press or media release about yourself and your art. / 2. Upload it as a journal on RedBubble and tag it with press release / 3. Win cool business cards with your artwork on them (or at least some experience promoting yourself) “But I don’t know how to write a press release” $20 says all the artists who do know how to write press releases had to learn at some point. It’s not brain surgery, but it is a fine art. Which means us creative people have a built in advantage. Here’s some info to help you get started: How to write a media release / How to write a press release that works / How to structure a press release If you’re really stuck, try asking a few people what makes you stand out? How they would describe you to someone else? What is the most unusual thing they can remember about you? And what’s all this about winning business cards? That’s the bit where I say “top job” to one of the best press/media releases uploaded and buy that person some cool business cards. This doesn’t begin to compare with the thrill of seeing your story in print, but they will be handy when you’re rich and famous. I’ll also be consulting with some PR minded folk to get some more opinions on the entries. So you don’t have to take my word for it. And while only one person wins the business cards I will be keeping an interested eye out for stories really worthy of some media spotlight. Then I’ll lather you with love and support and a good kick until you give it a go for real. Winner: David Petranker for this little number

If you couldn’t tell I like bubbles and water… I was playing around with fizzy water the other day in a tiny cup and I got this weird effect with the water. The little portion in the corner blurred mysteriously or exploded. I thought it looked cool though. I placed blue metallic paper under the glass and used my sigma 105mm macro lens and flash. Enjoy!
I don’t have the words to say how I feel about all the horrors of the bushfires in Victoria that have been and are still being afflicted not only on the people who live there but also the animals except that my heart aches and sometimes I can’t stop the tears in my eyes from falling … especially especially for all the animals who lived there that had no chance to escape … when I designed this fractal what I saw were koalas rising above the devastation below … there must be a heaven for these poor creatures .. little angel koalas … please please open your heart and do whatever you can to help our animal cousins —Wildlife-Appeal Profile —Wildlife-Appeal RB Group —Wildlife-Appeal Bubblesite —- All profits from the sale of this work will be donated to Wildlife Appeal. —- work done in Sterling2 with post work in PaintShopPro and Gimp. I saw the fire burning over the water .. smoke blued by the night flowing outward … My first ever work in Ultrafractal and the newest version 5.01 with post work (texture, sizing, brightness, contrast) in Gimp. Wish you could see the texture in this image (big smile) It’s best viewed large (grin) I’m completely impressed with the speed of rendering so far in UF5! I rendered this fractal at 10,000px squared with 300 resolution and it only took ten minutes on my 3.2mhz computer (2 gigs of ram) ... wow! Oh I suppose more complex images will take a lot longer .. don’t know yet since I’ve only rendered this one (big grin) .. however I had to resize it down to 5000px and compress it a little so that I could upload it here (smile) ... I’m very pleased with UF5 .. I’ve only scratched the surface for now but I see almost unlimited possibilities with my new toy (big smile) hope you enjoy it (big smile) Featured Art – March 2009 – RedBubble Group: Art in Math Featured Art – June 2009 – RedBubble Group: A Fractal Energy Passion Featured Member – Featured Art – June 2009 – RedBubble Group: A Fractal Energy Passion Featured Art – November 2009 – RedBubble Group: The Ultimate UF5 and Beyond UF 09 0001 090311 12
Hey looky here … remember this guy? ... he’s all dressed up and no place to go … well unless he has some help … put on way too many pounds since ya last saw him wouldn’t ya think? .. what? what? oh you say Princess Leia strangled him using those chains? ... well what you don’t know is that, sure he died alright, but .. get this … pieces of his blubber survived the explosion and drifted though space for quite some time until this entity found it and using magick .. ok ok highly advanced technological techniques … he brought the blubber boy back to life .. he cloned him .. ya it’s not the same Jabba though physically he’s got the same DNA.. but mentally .. well let’s just say his past life was wiped clean … also heard that he still has a penchant for overdoing the good life … his rescuer took a liking to him and decided to relocate him to a new home .. all creature comforts taken care of for life … so where’s that you ask? .. chuckle … he’s now living in luxury in a holographic zoo on some planet in a faraway galaxy .. seems the poor bugger has no clue .. best perhaps for all, yes?... so how do I know this? .. come closer .. don’t want everyone to know … you see I met this trader ….whisper whisper whisper ….........
