My inspiration for this image was a fabulous podcast that actually brought tears to my eyes when I listened to it. It also inspired this post on my blog Sometimes, I wish RB didn’t have such a stark white background. I had to change the colors for posting on RB, because the white background just killed the original colors.

I think Danbo has finally found love…and this time she is the right size for him! lol :) well this is my latest craze….i saw these cute lil dolls and I am just crazy about them! As soon as i saw them i knew i just had to collect them all :P Each Kimmidoll has her own meaning, representing one of "lifes true values". Kimmidolls were based on the Japanese Kokeshi dolls, which were handcrafted by peasant farmers as tokens of love or friendship. I just love them because they’re fun, cute, and all have such beautiful designs on their "dresses". I already have 3 of them so far and i will be getting more coz i just luv them so much! I will introduce you with each one my kimmidolls individually…will take pics of them soon and will tell you their meanings too ;-)

(A is for Ape) I just heard a story of a little 4 year old boy who fell into a Gorilla pen in London some years back. A female went over and felt the boy over to ensure he was not badly hurt, then picked him up and kept him away from the large male Gorilla until she could hand the little boy over to zoo officials. It just seemed like a good story to share. (Taken in the Los Angeles Zoo with a Nikon D300 using a Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 lens). Featured in the group ImageWriting in June 09. —1st place finisher in the Western Lowland Gorilla Challenge in the group Primate Art.

Parrots, also known as psittacines are birds of the roughly 372 species found in most warm and tropical regions. The order is subdivded in three families: the Psittacidae (true parrots), the Cacatuidae (cockatoos) and the Nestoridae. Parrots have a pan-tropical distribution with several species inhabiting the temperate Southern Hemisphere as well. The greatest diversity of parrots is found in South America and Australasia. Parrots, along with crows, jays and magpies, are some of the most intelligent birds, and their ability to imitate human voices enhances their popularity as pets. Chimpanzee…... Chimpanzees rarely live past the age of 40 in the wild, but have been known to reach the age of more than 60 in captivity. Cheeta, star of Tarzan is still alive as of 2008 at the age of 76, making him the oldest known chimpanzee in the world. Chimpanzees make tools and use them to acquire foods and for social displays; they have sophisticated hunting strategies requiring cooperation, influence and rank; they are status conscious, manipulative and capable of deception; they can learn to use symbols and understand aspects of human language including some relational syntax, concepts of number and numerical sequence.
