A couple of the guys I work with picked up this du-rag for me for Christmas… Being an engineer and they were a couple of the guys that work in the foundry they never expected me to actually wear it to work one day… Last Thursday I had my morning coffee and hit the rest room, got the rag put on and waked out into the foundry… I am not sure but I think one of them nearly wet his paints laughing. We are going to do a group shot as soon as we can but in the mean time it inspired this piece. Enjoy :~)

Bleeding love Where are we, what the hell is going on / The dust has only just begun to fall / Closed off from love, spinning round again / We didn’t need the pain, twice or thrice was enough / It was all in vain, time never ceases to pass / We’re frozen in this cycle of destruction Oil marks appear on walls, / where pleasure moments hung before / Sweeping insanity, sweeping insanity / Oh the insensitivity Something happened on the way, we lost our way / There was a very first time with us, we tasted the displeasure / The bile of unhappy endings and scorched earth policies / We let our hearts melt, / disappearing into the very ground we tread upon / We lost what was true, found something false to replace it / People get ready, there’s a train a coming / And everyone’s looking round, / but we no longer know who is going crazy / I know I’m going crazy Few are bold to say without care for circumstance / I don’t care what they say, I am still in love with you / Torturous souls that love the very thing that makes them sad / They try to pull us away, but they don’t know the truth / Our heart’s are crippled by the vein they keep on closing / They cut us open, and we keep bleeding / We just keep bleeding love We tried hard not to hear, but they talk so loud / Their pandering and propaganda piercing our ears / Question and they try to fill us with doubt / Our goal is to keep me from falling Nothing in this world is greater than the rush that comes / with our patriotic embrace / In this world of loneliness we must cease to lose face / Now everyone around us is going crazy, maybe, maybe It’s draining our history, it’s draining our souls / They find it hard to believe that we pity them / It is all of us who will be wearing these scars / For everyone to see Taken w/Nikon D2Xs + Nikkor 300/2.8 AFS VR
This cloud appeared on the horizon in California, weeks before our entire world as we knew it would drastically change. The original was very grainy, so I played with Fractilius to enhance it. Writing down the bones of tools to discover / how it was, we’d overcome and actually recover; Trilogy of catharsis and recording of a path / this cloud would prove the test of wrath; Destruction, construction, death and dis-ease / was beside our sanctuary, no peace to please; Katrina would lead us to a home found up north, / while California’s market went south and so forth; A new year upon us, no hope yet in sight / months of attempts to gain in the fight; Finally, a light in the darkness showed us the way / to gather our strength, gamble and so dearly pay; To walk the talk spoken, not compromise beliefs / we made it to a new sanctuary, a sign of relief; Sacrifice, challenges and heartfelt memories’ loss / of a home for three decades, now an albatross; Circumstances beyond control or receipt, / have taught us this change was a war on deceit; No winners or losers in this game of chance, / our souls our in tact though in mindful dance; Grateful are we who heeded the warning / whilst material gain is all we are mourning; Blessed with love, surrounded by beauty / life’s test to share light in the dark, now duty. This image represents the journey I have been on this year: the outer self merging with the spirit self within. I am integrating these two parts of me more and more: my flesh and my halo:)

Fineliner on copier paper. Featured in Finks of Inks. Based on a couple of rather unsettling experiences I have been confronted with lately, and once again, one of my friend Mark’s architectural abtracts which I love so much. Thanks Mark :-)) I firmly believe that all of us have an inner Solomon who helps us make the right descision in times of doubt and turmoil.
“Santa’s flipping burgers / The elves are unemployed / The reindeer have been eaten / No wonder we’re annoyed The North Pole’s in foreclosure / The recession’s hit us bad / But LOVE is free and HOPE is, too / There’s no reason to be sad” LOL….A little bit of original verse….later I may try to make illustrations for cards with this on it. But for now, I think it makes a good t-shirt all by itself.
Maui, Hawaii The Peacocks at The Garden of Eden, on the road to Hana are gorgeous and wander the grounds freely. You can buy food to feed them and they have become very tame. I think I could have reached out and touched this one, it came so close. The significance of Peacocks; / (Wikipedia) / In general, the Peacock is representative of glory, immortality, royalty, and incorruptibility. It is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty that can be achieved when we endeavor to better ourselves and better our lives. In history, myth, legend & lore, the peacock is considered an emblem of protection, nobility, watchfulness, guiddance, and holiness. In Greco-Roman mythology the Peacock is identified with Hera (Juno) who created the peacock from Argus whose hundred eyes (seen on the tail feathers of the peacock)symbolize the vault of heaven and the “eyes” of the stars. In Christianity the peacock represents the “all-seeing” church and the holiness & sancitiy associated with it. Additionally, the peacock reprsents resurrection, renewal and immortality within the spiritual teachings of Christianity. In Hinduism the peacock is associated with Lakshmi who is a deity representing benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and luck. Similar to Lakshmi, the peacock is associated with Kwan-yin in Japan – she is also an emblem of love, compassionate watchfulness, good-will, nurturing, and kind-heartedness. Kwan-yin chose to remain a mortal even though she could be immortal because she wished to stay behind and aid humanity in their spiritual evolution. In Babylonia and Persia the peacock is seen as a guardian to royalty, and is often seen in engravings on the thrones of royalty.
