I typed this up for Oddpixels and so I thought I’d also post it here….. I will try to explain to you how to get pictures to show up, that are linkable. You would go to the image (better as thumbnail), right click on that image and go to properties. There is an URL there…. highlight that, and right click on it, and select copy. for example: http://images-0.redbubble.com/img/art/cropped/size:small/view:main/320536-1-kindred-soul.jpg Here is one I just pasted and then I copied here. Then you go back to that image, and click on it, so it’s the bigger image… up in the browser, you copy that info, which looks like this: http://www.redbubble.com/people/lumineux/art/320536-1-kindred-soul So now you have to put an ! (exclamation point) in front of the url link above So it looks like this ! http://images-0.redbubble.com/img/art/cropped/size:small/view:main/320536-1-kindred-soul.jpg Then at the end of that, you put another ! (exclamation point) and then : (colon) So it now looks like this ! http://images-0.redbubble.com/img/art/cropped/size:small/view:main/320536-1-kindred-soul.jpg ! : Then you take the final link you copied from the browser, and put it behind all that…. So it’s now going to look like this ! http://images-0.redbubble.com/img/art/cropped/size:small/view:main/320536-1-kindred-soul.jpg ! : http://www.redbubble.com/people/lumineux/art/320536-1-kindred-soul However, you don’t leave any spaces… it has to be ALL together. I couldn’t show you here, because you wouldn’t see the steps. When all is said and done, it should look like this: .... and the way I test them first, to make sure I did it correctly, I do it in my EDIT PROFILE. If you want to learn more, this is where I learned, BevB Hope this helps! ~ Kimberly

I put this journal in here, for all to see, as I have been asked quite a few times recently how to do it. So I thought I would just save myself having to type it every time. For all that need help to upload T-shirt designs. / First You need to go into where you upload T shirt images and save the T shirt template to your own personal files. / Then go into your photo program and open a new work area selecting TRANSPARENT in the background drop box. Then set the mega pixels to exactly 2400×3200. / Next put the template on to fit the workspace, and put your image over it centering it on the red lines. When you are happy with the placement etc of your image, delete the template and save the image as a PNG file. It is now ready to upload. / Hope this helps. I decided to put this info in here for all to read, as I had to type at least 4 times last night. / Good luck.

Those link thingies are created with !’s and :’s ie: ! image ! : link (without any spaces) You have two options … (1) With a link to original location, (2) or without. With Link: ! http://images-2.redbubble.com/rbimages/works_avatar/Me_Camera.jpg ! : http://www.redbubble.com/people/deondewaal/art looks like this Without Link ! http://images-2.redbubble.com/rbimages/works_avatar/Me_Camera.jpg ! looks like this Extra Trick ! http://images-2.redbubble.com/rbimages/works_avatar/Me_Camera.jpg (Hey, This Comment Will Appear when I float My Cursor Over It. I highly recommend you to write all your work in an editor (ie, Microsoft Notepad), then test in your own journal because you can delete it if you ‘screw up’. This is easier to do with Mozilla Firefox I hope that helps. Similar Articles: ASCII Characters in your RedBubble Journal / Coding Your Redbubble / Format Found by Accident

I saw this over at Stephen Silvers blog and thought it was worth re posting, because it covers a bunch of things I struggle with and I just dug it and felt a hell of a lot better after reading it… 1. Ignore everybody. 2. The idea doesn’t have to be big. It just has to be yours. 3. Put the hours in. 4. If your biz plan depends on you suddenly being “discovered” by some big shot, your plan will probably fail. 5. You are responsible for your own experience. 6. Everyone is born creative; everyone is given a box of crayons in kindergarten. 7. Keep your day job. 8. Companies that squelch creativity can no longer compete with companies that champion creativity. 9. Everybody has their own private Mount Everest they were put on this earth to climb. 10. The more talented somebody is, the less they need the props. 11. Don’t try to stand out from the crowd; avoid crowds altogether. 12. If you accept the pain, it cannot hurt you. 13. Never compare your inside with somebody else’s outside. 14. Dying young is overrated. 15. The most important thing a creative person can learn professionally is where to draw the red line that separates what you are willing to do, and what you are not. 16. The world is changing. 17. Merit can be bought. Passion can’t. 18. Avoid the Watercooler Gang. 19. Sing in your own voice. 20. The choice of media is irrelevant. 21. Selling out is harder than it looks. 22. Nobody cares. Do it for yourself. 23. Worrying about “Commercial vs. Artistic” is a complete waste of time. 24. Dont worry about finding inspiration. It comes eventually. 25. You have to find your own schtick. 26. Write from the heart. 27. The best way to get approval is not to need it. 28. Power is never given. Power is taken. 29. Whatever choice you make, The Devil gets his due eventually. 30. The hardest part of being creative is getting used to it. 31. Remain frugal. 32. Allow your work to age with you. 33. Being Poor Sucks. 34. Beware of turning hobbies into jobs. 35. Savor obscurity while it lasts. 36. Start blogging.

This is easy enough to do. But can be very time consuming to do it proper. It is also quite hard to have to think about how to explain this in text, which is probably harder then actually extracting a subject from its back ground, lol! / This is for anyone who has Paintshop software and not Photoshop! Photoshop has an extract tool, which is actually a lot easier and faster as well as a cleaner background. / Because Paintshop is a lot more messy to do, I crop the image right down to the subject. Making sure I don’t crop anything away that you need in the subject. To do that, you select the crop tool. Most tools are on the left side vertical in your screen. / In Paintshop, you also have an eraser tool on the left side. If you go over the different symbols it should highlight what they are. You select the background eraser tool. I also found, that if I need to zoom in or out of the image, I need to select the hand tool on the left side for the zoom tool to appear on the horizontal line above your work on the monitor. Zoom in first as much as you need to. Making sure you can still recognize the definition lines and you don’t accidentally erase out parts of the subject. Make sure you save your work in png and not jpg and keep saving it, in case your software crashes and you haven’t lost all that hard work only to do it again. / Once you have removed all of the background, you should be left with something like a chess board, with your subject resting on it. This means that it has no background and if you see any spots, do your best to erase it, as this will show up on another photograph when you come to layer it! / Now you have cleaned it all up and have your subject. / Open the picture you want for the subject to go on. Making sure you can see both images together. Click once one the subject image to select it. This will then show up in the layer box, which is on the bottom right of your screen. / You should have a list of headings, such as; Materials, Mixer, History, Script output, Overview, and Layers! Click on the double box to maximise it if it doesn’t show up. / I am also very happy if anyone would like to add any additional information to this journal so that others may benefit from your own expertise! / If you have your layer box showing, your subject should be in the layer box. / Now go over with your mouse on the image in your layer box and then left click on that image, most important, holding your mouse down, you are holding the image with your mouse. Now drag it over to the background photograph, still holding the mouse down until the symbol on your arrow changes to a rectangle and then you can release the mouse. By doing that you have now placed the subject onto your new background. You can repeat this exercise as often as you wish. Have a go and see what I mean, for that is the only way to learn after all! / Now you have your subject onto its new background, you can close the picture of the subject that you have created having saved it in png first of course for future use if you require. / You probably need to change the size of the subject to make it look a part of its new background? To do this, you need the Pick tool! Which is a white arrow on the left side under the pan tool, the white hand. You have two tools in the box of the Pick tool, the other is a Move tool. Select the Pick tool, because, this will change the scale of your subject. Now you’ve selected that tool, you will notice a box around your subject. This box has little boxes on the corners and the centre of each line. Place your mouse over one of the corners of the box holding the left mouse button down, you can now drag it any direction you like. Making the subject smaller or even bigger depending on what you want? Once you are happy with that, you can place the subject in position, by moving the Pick tool in the middle of the box a sort of X or cross should appear. Hold the left side button of the mouse down and drag the subject to any position you would like in your picture. When you have finally finished. Go into Layer on top of your screen and click on it. Layer > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)! / Now save your new work in jpg, and that is it! / Additional information! / When you use tools. Above, you will find you have further controls to select how you want your tool to behave. Do you need a hard effect or a soft and subtle? This is true for the background eraser and other things. Look at them, experiment and see what it does? You soon learn to be in control of your tools that way.

Step 1… Get Template. Go to the Add a T-shirt Design and Click on the Highlighted T-shirt Template. A box will pop up for File Download. Click on Save and name your file (Save it to where you can find it). / Step 2… Open up your photoshop and find the Template and then decide what art you would like to put on a t-shirt. (I am only teaching you how to put a full page of art on a template as it is easier for us both). / Step 3.. You should have both the Template Opened up and the Art you want to Trasfer. Now resizing your art to fit on the Template. While on the Template… Go to Image (top right) then Resize and then Image Size. Once you are there you should see these image sizes… Top of page should say 22m… Next Row… width 2400 pixels.. Height… 3200 pixels… width 33.333 inches… Height 44.444 inches… and Resoulution will be 72 pixels/inches. Now you have the sizes and now you can make sure your art fits this size. It can be smaller but no larger than these sizes. / Step 4… Transfering art to the Template. After you have resized the art to fit on the template you now need to do a Select and then All (top left) after you do this you Click on Edit (top left) and then Copy. Now go to the template and do a Edit and then Paste. The art should be on the template now all you have to do is Go to Layers (top right) Now Click on the Template Layer on the small drop down then Click on Layer (top left) and then Click on Delete Layer. This gets rid of the RB grid. / Step 5… Now all you have to do is a Save As and rename the file. Also when you go to close the template and art do not save changes when closing template so you can reuse it again and again. You can also resize your art before closing or save it as the new size. / I hope this helps! If anyone would like to talk live for more assistance my IM address is hoffardart@hotmail.com Here are the direction with less words… / Transfer Template / Open Template / Open Art / Resize Art / Select – All / Edit – Copy (art) / Edit – paste (onto template) / Layers (click on Template Layer) – Layer – Delete Layer / Now File – Save As and Re Name Template / Do not save changes when you close the Template so that you can reuse. / On the art you can resize it or Save Changes when closing.
