Alone with my thoughts in peace for a while…have gotten to thinking. I realised something today. Sadly I have resigned to the fact over the last five years that if I am going to get out further than my drive/street really then I have no choice..if I push and make it to the bottom I am in agony for days, and have to return with my wheelchair even though I made itSo through tears of realisation a few months ago I succombed to the fact I was going to have to relie on the use of wheelchair…. I felt like a failure, like I was too young for this, like a 70/80 year old trapped in a 37 year old body…. Today I look around in acceptance, grateful of seeing things differently, glad for less pain from help of medication and not overly exerting myself, glad of those I have around me and thankful for the calming charms and entity of mother nature herself. I have had to turn around some of the I can’ts into finding new I cans or new ways of doing things. So why am I writing this down? Because I feel blessed for being given opportunity to have the time to discover new horizons…am hoping one day one of these new opportunities will become a talent or similar that I can choose to work with as and when health allows to get me back working with the community again. I want to share with people the fact that creativity comes in many forms, folk liking different varieties for different reasons. By taking creativity in hand making cards, taking photographs and reading/writing poetry etc. I have found means of escapism and relaxation…taking both my mind and body to some distant release I cannot begin to explain. Something I would recommend anyone trying even if it be painting by numbers or colouring. Try new things, whether able bodied or not – you never know where they might lead. I’m blessed being in Pembrokeshire surrounded by beaches and mountains….everything mother nature gifted to us for us to appreciate not ignore. I hope someone will take my words and use them to their own advantage, be inspired and accept release for I believe all things happen to teach us something deep within and prepare us for other things. My message above all I guess is never give up; your thoughts and views on the world may change but it takes time and acceptance on your part. Have hope, have faith and live what you can before it is gone. Go back to childhood get down on levels forgotten and rediscover natures enchantment as you see ants working away, bees pollenating your garden or birds nesting. Write, just notes to begin…people watching is a great, fun way to start and to listen for the funny things we say everyday and record them….there you go, there has to be a book in you somewhere? I seen this piece of Art She titled Serenity … and the Switch and Gears just turned I said I want to work with her and carry a message of peace to the bubble for all people not just ones in recovery for we all need stillness and to listen to the voice of God my HIGHER POWER HE ROCKSSSS MY WORLD!!! So I begged a lil (NAWWWW) any ways she said YES she likes to share peace … I said awesome so I wrote a piece … Now Listen to this and it Inspired another Artist wonderful webbie Thelma to create and posted SWEET SERENITY FOR She had got a VISION TOO frommy writing and thus we Have 2 and Created SWEET SERENITY Version with webbie aka Thelma and version 2 with Amy Splash. Just saw that I’m a new challenge winner once again / This What Inspires you? challenge hosted by the Prize Challenges!! group is one that speaks volumes to me, and it seems that RB artists took notice of it. / The winning image Arlington West 2007, Santa Barbara, California portrays an ongoin display of the casualties in Iraq on East Beach in Santa Barbara, to protest against the war in Iraq, and increase the public awareness regarding the military and political fallout of staying there. Each Sunday morning thousands of crosses, as the number of the fallen, for that day, are placed in the sand and volunteers are providing the public with up to the moment information on casualties plus individual stories on the fallen. This image was taken at memorial day 2007 as a tribute and memorial and as a cry for peace… Yes, I am inspired by dedicated people and their efforts to restore peace and humanity back… Thank you all for your support, votes and appreciation, and to the Prize Challenges!! group hosts for this wonderful challenge . It means a lot to me.
