Then the feeling fades…we come back down to earth….but the experience lingers long enough to inspire us to find the next moment of beauty in the ugliness.

This was a comment that I made in response to a journal entry made by karen66 ... Thanks for your comments, Karen. They are much appreciated. I, too, have been spending time looking at artwork and it does take some time. It is so totally worth it when you find artists that inspire you to create. Personally, I find that being an artist can be a rather selfish endeavor and I think it’s good for us, as artists, to “come up for air” once in a while or “fill the well” as Julia Cameron (The Artist’s Way) would say. But, ultimately, our work is the most important thing. I believe that when we give our creative gifts to the world, and I mean “creativity” in the most general sense of the term, we are giving a piece of our soul and I don’t think there could be a more precious or meaningful gift to be given in all the world :-)

I believe the journey of the artist … / A RedBubble Journal Entry by C.C. Arshagra I believe the journey of the artist, or the journey of life and soul’s becoming is as honest as each moment admits the whole truth of all you do and do not know with bliss. It is not the pain of failures seen in self or others. It is every moment of ” ... aaah” (Not, oh-me oh-my). So to here accept the gift is now I see who I was. And now I see who I may be. These fallings (And not pain or failures—so to speak) are lessons. Soul lessons that will mold the constant choices you are and will be. And this may be all that is true. True through all you do, think, feel, say and create. I honestly feel this to be each living beings living karma. It is the listening you give to life is within you are receiving it. And it is within the creating of you are now life’s giving in return. And this true are you to all life from this instant to every next one. I believe this is to understand and live here. These falling moments are as important as success, if not more so. I believe they happen more and not less as time goes onward toward becoming the soul understanding of self. To become you are peace of mind here. Now residing presently within the core of your intelligent emotional soul being. I believe those who live to soul control others, keep and own greed, and lie to wield all painful kingdoms of sorrow are children. And all they destroy in their wake will be their becoming death’s wait for they truly do not know what they’re not. The frequency of these fallings may increase and not decrease in this same change of time to time. This may continue so until the frequency is constant. Until your soul and art form of living is constantly here and true throughout your time, And through all the art you lived to create when this life of being form ends. I believe the journey of the artist, or the journey of life and soul’s becoming is honesty, patience, humility, and all that it means to parent life, feel joy, and laugh no matter how silently you do. Whew! where is the year going? / It seems like yesterday that I tentatively put my toe in the ‘red bubble’ puddle. / I remember being scared, curious and overawed by the whole process. / I am so glad that I took the risk, I have met so many kind and generous artists of all experience levels and genres. The common thread has been the amazing willingness to share and foster confidence in each other. I remember opening each comment with dread waiting for some experienced artist to put this self taught pretender in her place. / Hasn’t happened, I have found nothing but generosity of spirit, encouragement and technical assistance. For that I say a heartfelt THANK YOU / Self doubt is still my over coat but I have come a long way and look to the future with some excitement. / In closing I want to share a quote with you which was sent to me just a few days ago. I was feeling rather insecure about my art, wondering if I was wasting my time and everybody elses. I sent off an email to an artist whom I admire greatly asking her to check my work and tell me if it was time to lay down the paint brushes. Gidday all l was thrilled that my bum got featured in all about fire group :) / Well as you may have already guessed l’m sound’en the overload alarm again :-P l haven’t been very well lately so alot of my work has been photography and l have taken some way coool shots especially some soccer action ones l am about to upload a very ecclectic bunch including a REAL surprise discovery, my aunt just recently found some of my homework that l did WAAAAAY Back in grade six My mum had kept it for all these years & that l can tell you is a Miracle as after mum passed away l only took away a small shopping trolly full of personal things :) My home was a set of 3 drawings in a big fashion project & l gotta say l am soo surprised that it took 30 od years to find my artistic passion & put faith in what l wanted to create its strange that we sometimes take the long road to realise something we already knew. a comment to roy who is one of my favourites / roy / so glad you say you experiment – most of what i do is experimentation…stretching the boundaries of our understanding untill there are no confines – just space / annie having written this i feel i want to share it with anyone that takes time to read my occasional journal… the best relationships are like that too – no i am not talking of ‘open marriage’ or ‘wife swops’ – i am talking of the truly deep relationship that starts with a seemingly insignificant remark and imperceptively grows untill there are two people that become one in mind heart and soul … for me the order is different than for the reader perhaps … but to be caught up in this kind of relationship is a privilege and we must treasure and carefully tend such a prize we may have many friends with whom we relate for parts of these three -heart mind soul – but to be enfolded in the essence of another is unique and exhilareting and cannot be achieved by design annie

Quite often, lately, I have been musing on the solace I gain from musical inspiration. No matter how painful or joyous the subject, it is like we all have songs that can take us to places. For this, I am always grateful. Yet it is sometimes also the case that one of our most-loved bands or singers will also serve to remind us of friends. For Lisa – I find her like the sublime Nina Simone. For Cassidy – often it is the awesome and inspiring Linkin Park who comes to mind.
