A book calls for pen, ink and a writing desk; today the rule is that pen, ink and writing desk call for a book. / _*- Friedrich Nietzs…
A book calls for pen, ink and a writing desk; today the rule is that pen, ink and writing desk call for a book. / - Friedrich Nietzsche There are places of magic and wonder that have always struck me with the same enchantment as the space intoxicated by a heart-rending canvas in a gallery or the dark silent musty nooks flanked by piles of books amongst library shelves. They are places I can’t visit but only imagine; places so quietly intoxicating I want to fold myself into them to become part of the painted watercolour sky or the black string of word pearls that are created there. They’re the places where you and I create, the places that are sacred space where voices in a writer’s mind become a whole story, where a colour becomes an entire universe under a paintbrush and where light becomes a photographic odyssey. A studio, a writing desk, a study, a den, a favourite chair, a booth in a cafe, a park bench… you get the idea. My place. Your place. When I was a young girl, I visited the Californian ranch and orchards of John Muir an American naturalist and advocate of conserving the US wilderness. It was largely due to Muir’s activism that places like Yosemite National Park were saved from early development and clearing. I remember so clearly walking through the Muir’s family house, inspecting room after velvet-roped off room that echoed with the clatter and din of lives passed. It was however when I came across Muir’s study, preserved to the point of his spectacles still sitting on his writing desk beside his typewriter, that I became completely bewitched by the place. There was a feeling about this room, quietness, an energy that permeated from the walls and floors and Muir’s humble wooden writing desk that sat at an enormous bay window overlooking the property’s fruit orchards. At the age of nine, I drank in the sight and feeling of this room, this place, punctuated only by the rhythm of the grandfather clock in the corner and the whispers of the novels Muir wrote there. His writings and philosophies have been of elemental influence in conservation and environmental movements. Of course I didn’t know that when I was nine. I just knew he loved trees and earth and writing. I remember standing at the velvet-rope, that held me from crossing the floor to press my hands on the smooth wood of his writing desk and thinking to myself, magic happens here. In the aftermath of recently completing the challenge of National Novel Writing Month it’s now a time of luxury golden days for my muse. For her hard work, she’s being pampered with vanilla spice essential oil and peppermint incense today. Yesterday I picked a bunch of wild lavender for her which is now hanging upside down and drying out to become a perennial bouquet. I’ve painted her fingernails scarlet and brushed her wild hair into sheaths of shimmery ribbons. But I think the reasons why she’s purring like a cat and being particularly kind to me today is because I have cleaned her place, her lair (my writing desk) of obstructions (i.e. half my kitchen, old receipts I scribbled chapters on the backs of, piles of books… half my life basically) and once again she can dance and frolic in her wonder realm. This means being able to hold the small woody-scented pine cone between her palms that I collected from my favourite spot in a pine forest behind my house. It means she can turn the handle of my miniature music box and listen with a look of Christmas morning on her face as the notes of la vie en rose tinkle from the tines. She can dip her toes into vanilla water in my oil burner and play with the green wax of the apple candle I have burning. Most delightfully though, to her sheer indulgence, she can skip and jump again over the tops of the books I have lined up against the wall and string necklaces of her favourite words for me. And for me it means I can again see the dried pressed flowers from my mother’s garden I have framed on my desk, my favourite coffee cup (bucket) is clean and awaiting a new brew and my collection of black .4mm felt tip pens are all gathered in an old antique teacup waiting to scribble in the pile of notebooks resting under the block of French chocolat noir intense for those imperative moments. Most of all, I can see the surface of my writing desk with all of its watermarks, coffee cup circles, scratches and stains. I bought this desk from the Salvation Army on a utopian afternoon, for less money than a movie and take away. It is genuinely the most magical possession I think I have ever owned. Lately I have caught myself hovering at the door to my writing room and thinking to myself, magic happens here. So… that’s my place. What about yours? copyright © 2008, Holly Ringland.
I just read a very insightful journal entry...
I just read a very insightful journal entry by DanielMartin about “Writing and making things that come from the heart that maybe no body will like or things that lots of people will enjoy which is cheap and crappy but earns you more money?” I wanted to write him a comment and found that I had more to say about it than I originally thought (and I hope this is helpful to all). Thank you, Daniel, for such a thought invoking query! Here is my response: I find that writing form the heart means “being true to one’s heart” and, thus, true to one’s self. There are a lot of artists out there who create only for profit because money makes the world go round. And, sometimes, rightly so. I know and have lived through and seen the cost of “Bohemian lifestyles” and what a toll it takes on one’s life and the lives of those who care about them in order for one to be “All about the art” and live and breathe “Only art from the heart” (shoot, I am living that life right now at this moment…and it is bittersweet). I have battled with this concept as well and will admit that I have thought about just giving in and producing what will make the most money. But, I haven’t…yet. I have always just produced what I liked and hoped others would like it too. I too have felt that some pieces were unpopular and that popular pieces are those that “sell out” because the artist/author is pandering to the masses and not being true to their own voice. But, maybe some of those creatives aren’t always “selling out”; maybe, they have just figured out the formula and have solved a very simple/complex equation. Lately, I have been trying to find a certain place in my work: producing what I like and what is from the heart and, at the same time, making it what people want (and by “want”, I mean “buy”). I am slowly beginning to learn that what people want is actually to buy something from someone who believes so much so in their own work that others have no alternative but to see it as if it has come from their own hearts as well, and thus want to buy it. What people want is passion – passion for the creation process, passion for the sales process, and passion for the way the piece speaks to the world (or what it says about that world). A photo is just a photo, a poem is just a poem, a graphic is just a graphic, until someone (meaning us creatives) shapes and molds it, and gives it meaning and purpose. Every piece we produce should evoke some sort of human emotion (other than boredom). If a piece makes someone happy…or sad…or enraged…or inspired…or ready to fight for a cause…or…you get the point… Then, we have done our jobs as creatives. It is when we get no response that we have failed (this does not literally mean “no response in our comments sections”, but rather if the piece evoked no inner response from the viewer/reader). This is why it is so important for us creatives to offer constructive feedback and honest responses to our fellow creative comrades. To comment on someone’s work with “Excellent” or “Wow” or “Lovely” (you get the idea), might actually do us all more harm than good. Think about it. These words are filler words. I, myself, have been guilty of using them from time to time when in a rush. But they are just adjectives and they do nothing to show the workings of the inner self. Some of the best comments a creative can receive (and, I am sure most of you can attest to this) are those that give some insight into how the piece affected the viewer. For example, these are some comments I have received which exemplify my point. I first must say, that I appreciate ANY and ALL comments on my work, even constructive criticisms. These are not necessarily my most favorite comments (though some of them very well may be), however, I randomly selected them because I feel they illustrate my above point and are very good examples: “I love it to death!!!!” from Anne van Alkemade on Snail Mail Project – Page 1 “I love the romance of this composition” from Michael J Armijo on Faerie Dust “Just love the extreme fright one feels when looking at this image and reading the narrative.” from ltruskett on HE Waits “The stuff nightmares are made of.” from Paul Compton on No Escape “It looks so lonely!” from Sarah Moore on Little Tree ”...the thought of murdering Barry Manilow has surely occurred to others besides me hasn’t it?” from deliriousgirl on This One’s For You “I will never stop laughing. Thanks for the boost.” from MIKERUSSELL on Sitting Now, I did not mean to leave anyone out, so please do not be offended if your comment is not shown here as an example. There are just so many comments and these just popped up at me as ones that would help to make my point. If you notice, they all share a common thread: they let the creator of the piece know how their pieced affected that particular viewer. And, for an artist/writer, knowing how a piece affects another human being is worth its weight in gold. So, take this into consideration the next time you leave someone comments. I know I will try to. I am not saying to not leave the standard “Awesome” or “Excellent”, but maybe follow that up with a few words about how the piece made you feel or react. It only takes another few seconds from your busy life, but gives a world of knowledge to the person for whom you are leaving the comment. Ask yourself: How did this piece make me feel/react? Is the comment telling/showing how this piece made me feel/react? Am I leaving this particular comment because I have nothing else to say about it? Is my comment truly constructive? How will this comment help the creator of the piece? Am I being honest? Or, am I using filler to hide the fact that the piece caused an emotion in me that I think is not too positive (i.e. scared, afraid, creeped out, angry, enraged, turned off, sick to your stomach, etc.). [If this is the case, you can always send a private message to the creator of the piece letting them know how you feel. Remember, there is always a way to express a negative emotion in a positive way.] So, why did I go off on this tangent about leaving comments? Because, your simple act of leaving a comment can help that artist/writer to discover what it is about their work that makes others tick. Is their work inspirational? Does it scare the viewer? Is it shocking? Does it induce fond memories? Does it convey the original emotions/feelings the artist originally intended on delivering? How are we supposed to know these things unless we tell each other? And, most of us here are creative types, so why not use each other as tools? After all, one of the best tools of our trade is feedback. And, as artists and writers, we can take that feedback and learn to solve that ever popular equation: What we love + What they want = Art that does not fail What I mean by “art that does not fail”, is art that is both from the heart & soul and that also touches the hearts and souls of others. Creative pieces should accomplish both of those tasks. And keep in mind If a few people think a piece is boring or it evokes no inner response…choc it up to a difference in taste If A LOT of people (especially people whose opinions you highly value) think it is boring or that it evokes no inner response…try looking at your work from outside your own box and getting honest, helpful criticisms (and appreciate those criticisms, which so many of us tend NOT to do). If you’re piece evokes less-positive responses, ask yourself if that was your intent. Did you mean for the piece to scare people? Were they supposed to get grossed out, or offended, or angered? If the piece upset someone or caused them to loathe what you created. Ask yourself “why?” Because, if that was the intent of your piece…then a job well done! Re-examine your work often and update it (especially if it has had no response). First recognize how that work makes you feel/react and then ask people if it does the same for them; if not, re-examine it and try again. Ask yourself if your piece contains personal reflections that no other person, except those involved, would “get”? If so, try to re-imagine the piece so that anyone, anywhere, and at anytime can be involved with your piece and understand its meaning and relevance. Read/view other works of art and keep in mind what others are saying about those pieces. Remember, the best writers are readers; the best artists are connoisseurs. Remember that you should be the biggest fan of your work. If you don’t love it, then how can you expect others to? If you are not “moved” by it, then how are others expected to be? And, remember, we artists and writers cannot please everyone. So, don’t even try. Just please yourself…umm…that came out bad…I mean…just know that if you build it, they will come…okay, so I went from smut to cheese, but you get the point! Artists. Writers. Photographers. Illustrators. Poets. Sculpturers. Designers. Architects. Songwriters. Graphic Artists. Webmasters. Screenwriters. Painters. Chefs. Sketchers. Filmmakers. Assemblers. Decorators. Bakers. Playwrights. Crafters. Creators. And, “Smiths” of all kinds… The equation is OURS to solve. Anybody got a calculator? © Copyright Brian Jaime and bchrsidesigns, 2008. All Rights Reserved. Happy Bubbleday to me!! Thanks to animo for reminding me that today was July 12th and that it’s been a whole year since I joined RB!! I can’t do a year in avatars (Danny beat me to it), throw it all on a shirt like Mikoto, nor can I show you how much my stuff has improved in the last 12 months like TBO did!! Because: a) I’ve ripped all the early stuff down and b) I’m not sure that it has. All I’m going to do is say thank you to everyone who has commented on my stuff, bought my stuff, nattered away with me and made this year on RB the fun that it has been, and thanks for sharing with me all the amazing art and writing you have contributed. Thanks also to those of you who have provoked me, challenged me, tormented me and made me draw AND write! I’m not going to name names … you all know who you are ….. and here’s to the next 12 months. ♥♥♥♥♥ Cheers, / Cathie

http://www.philadelphia33.org/ Jesus He called my name. For all who are Christian, those who have been born again and received Jesus as lord and Saviour, there was a time when you heard Jesus Call your name. A time when you knew that The Lord loved you and wanted your heart. This is what I mean when I say He called my name. for those who have read my personal testimony, you will know that he called my name. When I was a chronic Alcoholic, gambler and one who practiced witchcraft. *. Due to the requests of friends I have met via Redbubble, I have decided to share with you, how the lord called me to serve him in Africa. A call to service. [As the Lord lives and is true and holy, I certify that what you are about to read is a true account of how Jesus called me into Missionary Service. This is still as fresh in my memory today as it was when this incredible event took place in my life] On Friday 26th August 1994, I was troubled in my spirit all day. I sat and watched Television and read a book, but yet I felt God wanted to speak to me, but I did not know what he wanted. So my wife said to me that I should just go to the park and pray. It was 6.05pm in the evening when I arrived at the park, and I parked my car and started to walk around the park. / I was walking and looking at the swans on the pond and praying at the same time. Then with not warning at all, I became aware that someone was walking close behind me. I did not look back, but knew someone was behind me. I continued walking along a narrow footpath and as I did I felt a person’s hand holding mine. There was no fear or indeed any desire to look to see who this was that was holding my right hand. / It was very strange looking back now to why I did not want to see who it was. This would have been anyone’s reaction at the time. I felt warm and at peace, not knowing that It was *Jesus who was the one actually holding my hand. I was Praying in the Spirit [speaking to God in the gift of tongues]. Then Jesus said my name, Trevor. It was the softness and Love in his voice that caused me to look and as I say my Masters face, I knew that It was him. He did not need to tell me it was Jesus. When Jesus comes to you my friend, you won’t need any introduction or explanation, for you will know it is the King of kings that has called your name. In an instant tears my friend flowed down my face, and I was crying like I have never cried before. My emotions were overwhelmed with sadness and sorrow, because his eyes were filled with tears also and he was quietly weeping. Here was my Jesus holding my hand and he was crying. I could not understand why I was not jubilant with Joy. His sorrow pierced my very fibre of my being. By now, I was transported away from all consciousness of being in the park on a bright summer evening and we were in a dark place. The Only way I can describe this pace is to use a well as an example. Imagine a deep round stone well, empty, and you are at the bottom of it. It is very round and very wide. So can hardly see the other side of it, and you can just make out the huge stones that form the round sides of it. It’s dark at the bottom and you cannot see any light, except the light that emanates from Jesus Garments. This is how it seemed at that point. As I Gazed into his face, he spoke these words to me. / “Trevor, My Son, I want to show you something, do not be afraid my son for I am with you”. There was a short silence as these words took hold of me. He gently squeezed my hand and began to walk forward in this dark place. As we went forward, he was still weeping, and I could hear voices in the distance and different kinds of noises, like doors opening and closing, and A smell that I had never experienced before. I was crying as the Passion and sorrow of Jesus seemed to flow into my heart. It was so hard to carry such sadness and I have never experienced this before or after. Then I began to see people at my left side and all were chained to the walls and terrible sores were all over them, and all were shouting things at Jesus. I could not make out what they were saying, but Jesus was crying and weeping. The smell was terrible and there were some that when they say him cried as well. As we went forward the light that was so white lit up the side and a little ahead. The place was so big and wide I could not see the other ends. Then he again spoke to me “Trevor my Son, Do not be afraid”. I was scared, but his words just melted away any fears I had. We then came to a place where I saw am Casket alone and as we walked pass, a man spoke and said “Jesus, Why have you let me come here?. Jesus with tears answered him and said “Judgement has been set”. Again the man shouted at him and started to explain to Jesus that he was a pastor and that all his life he served Jesus and Preached and give to those in need. Jesus said again to him, “Judgement has been set”. / / All the time Jesus was weeping and I was looking at Jesus all the time, and I never did see the man, but knew he was a man, because of his voice. Again the man pleaded with Jesus and told him many other good things he had done and as he was talking, Jesus raised his other hand and stopped the man from speaking. Then Jesus said to the man, “ I sent you warnings, I sent messengers to warn you and you did not repent, for the woman you slept with was not the wife I had given you, and you died in your sins, therefore Judgement has been set”. Jesus was very sad, and began to lead me further into this dark and cold place. Then we came to another place like a very large open place with walls so thick and wide and there were like empty prison cells all around. One cell stacked upon another and I could not see where they ended, and they were so high. Then Jesus knelt down on his knees and was now crying and I could feel his body shaking. All this time he was still holding my right hand. I stood beside him with tears flowing down my face and my heart was breaking with compassion and sadness for my Lovely Lord Jesus. I then knelt down beside him and wanted to hold him close, but I was so troubled to see My Lord cry like this. Then I asked him the only question I asked through all of this. “Lord, why are you crying, there is nobody here?. In what seemed like a long time we both cried and cried. Then still kneeling, Jesus looked deep into my eyes and said, / “This Place is prepared for all those who do not know my name”. / As I looked all around, I now could hear screams and fluttering wings and rustlings above our heads high above where we were. I saw in the darkness shadows of what I can only describe as winged demons, hellish beings flying about. Jesus was weeping so hard and as he stood up, I was still on my knees. He looked into my face and said to me “My Son, Go to Africa, to the villages and proclaim my name among the people, Go tell them who I am and that I love them, and I will be with you each step you take” Then Again suddenly, as if no time passed, I was back in the park. The first thing I became aware of was that I could not feel his hand in mine. I cried and begged him to come back again, and I remember saying Lord there is so much I want to ask you. The Holy Spirit then opened the eyes of my understanding and I realised that God had allowed me to have a vision where Jesus came and called my name. Where he had appeared to me and called me for service. I was deeply shaken and all they way back to my car, I was worshipping my lord in tongues [heavenly Language]. How I drove home, I do not know, and as I told my wife and we both just praised God and give thanks. I told my pastor the following day Saturday 27th August 1994, and the response are you sure it was Jesus. I was upset and few in the church the following day had any encouragement. So On Monday 27th August 1994 I went to my local travel agent and asked how much a ticket would be for Uganda. As a boy in School we had a visiting teacher from Uganda. I marvelled at the little round huts they lived in and the photographs she showed us was amazing. So I settled it that Uganda was the place God wanted me to go. The ticket was £530.00. I had no money so I sold my car. I was determined to get to where Jesus sent me and do what he told me to do. All this time and even now. I still see my Lord and the love in his beautiful eyes. Yes I still cry and know someday I will be with him forever. I Got the exact money from the sale of my car. It was then that the Church saw that I was committed to following my lords Commission. A Little money came in and I went to Africa on Saturday 24th September 1994. I arrived in a country where I knew nobody. I asked the taxi driver at Entebbe airport to take me to a Christian Guesthouse. He took me to marimba Guest house. That evening as I lay alone in my little room, a house girl knocked my door. She asked if I would like to attend a church. I was so happy. The following Day I who knew nobody was preaching to a Church of Over 2000 people. That evening I was speaking at Chief of Police Wedding anniversary, and in that audience were Government officials, and others. The following week I was given a small house to live in free of charge, a Vehicle and driver, and the mission to extreme poor and isolated villages was born. Since that time I have dedicated my whole life to Preaching the Gospel in remote areas of Africa, South India and have never had a salary. Hi, I have just commenced moderating a new group called Creative Inspirations. It is in it’s first 2 days of creation and I am very excited by where it will evolve to. In brief the group is about inspiring people to go really deep in feeling and thought with their creative pursuits and life in general. I believe that the world could be far more free and enjoyable if we went deeper than what society seems to condition us to do. Further I am confident that creative people have the passion and power to stimulate the community to want to be more aware, more passionate and more free. Best Wishes Tony.

/ “It’s a hot tranny mess up in here!” There has been much talk recently about Red Bubble Groups and how things need to change. Some common gripes include: There is little group involvement (so why even join in the first place, people?) People complain about bubble mails (I am not one of them because by joining a group, I pretty much expect it) Hosts complain about investments of time and resources RB admins claim that groups are just a dumping ground for images Many members simply use these groups for shameless self-promotion without even reading the rules and/or following them correctly (you know who you are!!!!) New groups that could possibly be beneficial have been put on hiatus because there are supposedly “too many groups”...gasp! Some groups, which are hosting off-site blogs and websites to promote their groups and give their groups additional functionality (which could actually help members with free promotion), have come under fire for violating member’s rights Group challenges are either lacking in entries, votes, or overall support (even when money is involved, which is beyond me, quite frankly) Many hosts feel taken advantage of and under-appreciated by the Red Bubble community, and subsequently abandon their posts or lose interest and the groups suffer for it Hosts are sometimes at a loss with going about how to feature work and artists in their groups, and what constitutes “fairness” Many members cannot understand why their work was not accepted and many hosts have either very unreasonable expectations or their expectations are way too low Adding your work to groups involves skimming through a long list of un-alphabetized and un-sort-able group names, which makes posting to groups a chore. I can understand why some people just click everything and submit and leave it to the hosts to decide. I have NEVER done this, but I can understand why some would. Groups get inundated with art/clothing/writing/journals and then visitors have to skim through 20 or more pages of work, which can make it daunting for viewers (I personally think this is just one more thing to complain about and not really that big of a deal) Many groups limit the amount of work a member can post (or can post at one time) and sometimes this seems unfair (I agree with this 100%); but hosts say that the purpose of this is to keep the galleries so fresh and so clean (which seems a bit nit-picky yet needed, to me). This represents just a few rants that I have seen expressed throughout the RB community, and some of them I share my opinion with because I have experienced it firsthand. Being a member of quite a few groups and also a group host, I have been able to see perspectives from both sides. And, having been involved in many internet groups in the past, I can attest that Red Bubble still needs to work it out for better functionality. However, what Red Bubble has is a diamond in the rough that has so much potential. Now, I know this is getting word-y and I have been criticized in the past for not exemplifying brevity. But, when I am passionate about a subject matter I cannot help but ramble on. All I can hope for is that people (especially RB Admins and Group Hosts) continue reading because I think I have some good ideas to toss into the mix. Currently, Red Bubble is talking about a sort of division that would make groups for the people and would establish galleries for the art. This is just an idea that Red Bubble has been toying with and their is nothing official about it. And, while this idea has many supporters, I am not a huge fan of it. I think it will initially cause a lot of chaos and confusion and require volunteers to offer more time, which many of us are already at our wits end with. I question why Red Bubble is trying to establish new features as a way to “help the group situation” rather than actually focusing on the group’s part and trying to revamp that. We do not need something new. What we need is for a better operating group system. Maybe, if we started there, then we would fix some of these problems in the first place. Here are some ideas I have, that would probably help to end (or at least aid with) the current group conundrum: Bubble Mails Bubble mail woes could be a thing of the past if Red Bubble were to find a way for Group Hosts to send notifications to the group that, instead of being sent to member bubble mail accounts, would automatically be posted in a group tab called “Updates” (they could put it right before the “Activity” on the group’s menu). An option to post a message to the group could be placed under the “Moderation” section (group hosts know what I am talking about). Also, so that members would not have to visit every group, every day, for news and updates… Red Bubble could make a “feed” for it under our main “Activity Feeds” menu (much like they did with the “Challenges Feed”). Shameless Self-Promotions To avoid this nasty little habit, group hosts could enter key words (tags, if you will) that describe their group and what they expect. The number of tags could be limited to twenty fours (to avoid over tagging and confusion; plus, usually if you go over 24 tags, they become unusable in a search anyway). Then, when members are uploading a new work or editing a pre-existing work, only groups which the member belongs to and which share the tags the member has used for their work would appear in the “Add this work to your groups” section. This section should also be made alphabetical, search-able, and sort-able AND there should be a pop-up link to the group’s guidelines so that, at the time of posting, members can skim through group guidelines to determine if a piece is suitable for said group. This way, the member has no reason to have spammed groups with their unrelated images. Also, maybe there should be a notification section of the moderation tabs for group hosts to be able to see who has submitted more than five rejected pieces within a three month time period. They could then send a warning to the member and put them on a sort of probation, and the member could face possible removable. This type of system would SHOW members just how often they do this and would hold them accountable for their actions and would eliminate a lot of the debates as to why a host kicked someone out of the group. Group Involvement Continuing on with the idea of a notification system, Red Bubble could implement a point system that would record group activity for individual members (and hosts too)...kind of like sporting statistics. Members (and hosts) could be able to see how many forum posts they have made, how many challenges they have entered, how many they have won/lost, how many works they have had accepted/rejected, how many groups they belong to/host, how many groups they have left and/or being ejected from, how many pieces they have had featured, how many times they have had been a featured member, etc. Each time they do something positive, they could earn points accordingly. And, each time they do something negative, like have a piece rejected from a group or not be an active member for an entire week, they could get a ding and their point value would decrease. With this type of system, members could then see their overall Red Bubble stats and know where they stand. This would make people more accountable, have more of an incentive to participate, and not be so offended when hosts make evasive decisions. Red Bubble (and group hosts) could also offer incentives for constantly active members (like a “Most Active Members” feature page) and hosts! The Main Group Page Currently, when we click on “Groups”, we are taken to a very simplistic (and quite boring) group page, which lists our groups, featured groups, recent groups, and random groups. Well, this is nice and all, but I feel it is a waste of that page. That page should be a portal for us into the world of Red Bubble groups. As it is now, it seems like an afterthought. This should be our group hub. We should be able to find our group activity feeds, group stats, favorite groups, groups we host, groups that are most active and featured, and newest groups. We should have the option of sorting through this information and deciding what it is that is important for us to view (each of us, individually). This way, we have no excuse to not know the current happenings or to not be involved. It would automatically put us in the center of it all and we would then automatically be involved. Information would go right to the source. We should also have the option of adding works to multiple groups (which we are members of and which match our tags criteria, of course) from this section as well as being able to delete them from groups. In the same respect, we should have the ability to quickly enter pieces of artwork and writing into group challenges. All of this should be made accessible right from this first page, without the hassle of surfing through the mountains of groups out there. There should also be a section on this page, where Red Bubble admins and Group Hosts could post group-wide announcements that all members would receive because it may be beneficial for them to know (regardless if they belong to a particular group or not). There could be an option when hosts post group updates, for it to be posted in this section as well. Group Challenges/Contests Right now, it seems that Red Bubble is on the right track when it comes to the way groups host challenges and contests. But, I would personally expand on that idea. There should be a section of the main group page just for challenges and contests. And ALL group challenges should be posted here. Members could then see ALL group challenges (even those from groups which they may not currently belong to). Also, it would be nice for Challenge winners to receive a little note on their art work description notifying people out there of their placement in the challenge. This is valuable marketing for us artists and might help us with sales (some people might like to buy an award winning piece). Currently, Zazzle does this and automatically posts various community wins on the actual art work page for all browsers to see. This would really encourage people to enter and participate in challenges and contests. And, hey, what about vendor challenges? A lot of art websites team up with outside vendors to hosts challenges for artwork photography, writing etc. Red Bubble should do stuff like that and place information on those in this area as well! Also, maybe Red Bubble could give each group so much in funds for challenge prizes. This way, if the challenge is approved to use the funds, the hosts could give out better prizes which might also improve upon challenge participation. As well, members could receive points that would up their statistics rating for each entry and each placement in a competition. Featured Work and Artists Instead of leaving it solely up to hosts to decide who gets featured in each group. Why not reserve some spots, which would automatically generate featured members from criteria such as: most involved group members, challenge winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd, place), most favorited pieces, most viewed, etc. Then the hosts could have their picks as well. This way, the pool is always more fair and even leveled. Also, featured works should also receive award markers on the actual work’s page (much like my above idea for challenges to receive them) because, then buyers could know that this piece not only won challenges, but it was also featured! Cha-ching! Group Restrictions & Archives Many group hosts cap the number of pieces a member can add to a group. Some even narrow it down to one or two, which is honestly ridiculous! I understand the hosts concerns that the groups will overflow with work and people will have full pages of work shown in the galleries. I understand how this issue is a Pandora’s Box and I am not saying to get rid of group restrictions. But how about making them more feasible, streamlined, and automated? Red Bubble should only allow members to post no more than 2-3 pieces in a single 24 hour time period (excluding challenge entries, journals, and special circumstances such as Drawing Day, etc.). Members should then be cut off from submitting any more than that until the next day. This simple act could alleviate all concerns of spamming. The logical next step would be establishing certain criteria for pieces to automatically be “archived” into the group’s history. Yes, ALL groups should have an archive. Why do we not have an archive? Can someone explain this to me? Even blogs have archives! This way, hosts and members do not have to worry about over-flooding of the group and having to delete and re-add images. The hosts could then archive the group by month and those archives could then be search-able by the masses. The hosts could set it to archive itself every month or every three months or they could do it manually. In addition, archived pieces could also appear in the feature section or in the group’s feeds for challenge winners, most viewed, most commented on, most featured, etc. that way they do not just get lost in archive hell. If these things were implemented, then hosts would not have to be all military style and making up outrageous quotas and restrictions (that, quite frankly, sometimes turn away potential members). It would make it the same and fair for every group and no one would have to try to remember what the limit rules were for each and every group they belong to. Also, hosts should be given the option for mass acceptance, rejection, and deletion of material. And, hosts should be able to create pre-written messages or templates to send to members when a piece is rejected or deleted. As a host, it would be beneficial for me to be able to choose, from a drop down menu, the appropriate response to send so that members are not constantly BM’ing you with questions. And, much like hosts can invite members to join the group, why not enable them to invite people to submit a certain piece to the group. As a hosts, I have often been surfing through RB and noticed some art and writing (and journals) that would be welcomed additions to the groups I host, but having to BM the artist/writer (especially if they are not a current member) is daunting and time consuming. I wish I could just click an invitation to submit their piece to my group. Who knows, maybe they do not even know that our groups even exists! Hello new membership! Creating New Groups There has recently been debate over the creation of new groups being placed on hiatus. I, myself, sent Red Bubble admins an email proposing three new groups, to which I have received NO REPLY. I know they are busy people, so I am not holding anything against them…yet. Hehehehehe… But, one thing that would help them in creating new groups would be to create and online form that members could fill out (and edit, and check the status of) which would be in pending mode until approved. This way, the potential host could enter the potential group’s guidelines, mission statement, etc. That way, this information is already set to go if the group is approved. Also, they should create a section of the main group page which would show all proposed groups and their descriptions, guidelines, and mission statements. This section should give members the option of adding themselves to the “waiting list” for that group (so that they are automatically added to the group upon the group’s inception – they would receive notice of this in their activity feed, of course). Then, RB Admins could see how many people are on the group’s waiting list and this could show just how much of a demand there is for that particular group. If a group is denied creation, the potential host can then re-examine that and make “significant” changes and re-submit it for inclusion. Group Blogs This has also been a hot topic of debate recently. Some hosts have created websites and blogs outside of Red Bubble to give their groups more functionality and marketability. Some hosts want to include all members in this. Some members do not want to be included (as to why, I will NEVER understand because free marketing is free marketing people…but that is a different post all together). So, how do we solve this? Some have suggested that we include an option upon membership to opt out of said promotions/inclusions. I sort of like this idea, but think it needs more functionality. Members should be able to do this on a per piece basis. What if I am cool with my writing being featured on the group’s blog, but not my art? Or I do not want my pieces placed on blogs, except this one t-shirt? It’s all about functionality. When we upload our pieces to a group, it should give us the option for inclusion for that particular piece only. Then, hosts could use an implemented search tool to weed through the group for pieces that are open to inclusion. There. Problem solved. Another way to combat this would also be to set up group blogs, where hosts could blog about the same stuff they blog about on their off-site blogs, but it would be here on Red Bubble and, thusly, members would not be all up in arms. Also, it would be beneficial for groups to be able to set up Group Zines that could be annual, bi-annual, quarterly, bi-quarterly, monthly, bi-monthly, weekly, or bi-weekly. This would be beneficial for writing groups and art groups alike. They could supply articles, features, etc. Many groups are already doing this off-site. Why not promote that here? It would definitely encourage people to up the quality of art and writing. The Bottom Line The bottom line is that right now Red Bubble’s group system is a Hot Tranny Mess (my apologies to the Trannies of the world, of whom I have nothing but love for) and what it needs to be is FIERCE! I know this is A LOT of information to take in and I will be proud of those of you who read through all of this. I hope, at least, that all Red Bubble Admins and Group Hosts have read though this as I feel I am offering valuable ideas. I am not one to rabble rouse and cause an uproar. And, I am not hating on Red Bubble or anyone. I want Red Bubble to succeed in everything it does. I love this website and want it to be the best it can be. This is why I offer my thoughts and ideas. I know that there will be many who disagree with some of my ideas. But, you cannot make everyone happy. But, at least I took the time to share my ideas and offer constructive help for a better Red Bubble experience for us all. All of these ideas combined would make our group experiences as members and hosts a whole lot better. I implore you Admins, to re-consider and re-evaluate your plans for RB because we do not need new features to go along side with our already confusing and chaotic ones. Shouldn’t we improve upon one thing first BEFORE we add something new to the mix? There is so much YOU (Red Bubble) can do rather than the whole Galleries idea to improve upon our experience with groups. So, why not take care of that first? Thank you to all who took the time to read this word-y mess! Much love to you all! And, Red Bubble, if you happen to like my ideas…hook me up with one of them Red Bubbles by my name…hehehehe…wink-wink! El Fin. Hello Precious friends. I have now come back from India Mission where I was working with Indian gypsies. These precious people are outcast from society and called and treated as untouchables. God truly has heard their cry. I have many new photographs and testimonies. Please be patient as it will take some time to upload them. I may open a new India Mission site here. I will add a link on my profile page soon. Africa is still my main mission filed, but after prayer, and guidance from the Holy Spirit I have agreed with Gods permission to raise awareness and help these precious suffering outcast people. Full details will follow. Thank you my dear friends for your Prayers and donation. Each adn every one of you are of immense value to me and Gods care of the poor and outcast. I will make a full report as soon as I can. I love you all. Trevor. http://www.philadelphia33.org/ :http://www.redbubble.com/people/joshuatree1

What Love is?. Countless numbers of people, from young to old, from Atheist to Christian, from all walks of life, have asked this question. Many have pondered this question at one time or another and come up with many explanations to What is Love. Some say I am in love, or I feel love, or I must be in love. Love is more that just a feeling, more than just a desire, and often Love is not what that person feels at all. It is my intent here to address and answer the question what is love?. What love is Not. 1. Love is not a strong sexual feeling or physical attraction to someone or something. 2. Love is not something that dies after some time, or switches on and off. 3. Love never seeks to destroy, wound or hurt anyone. 4. Love never blames or condemns. 5. There are those who say they Love God, yet in his name murder and kill men, woman and Children, with Gun, Bullet and bombs. This is not Love. I am sure many readers can add their own views and beliefs of what love is not. But above are just a few of them. In our world today, so many teenagers become pregnant at such a young age, Children having Children, and often the father is nowhere to be seen. Many Say it was because they loved each other and it just happened. This is not love. Marriages and relationships that many thought were build on Love have broken in pieces. Good friends who say they loved each other have fallen apart and in some cases bitter feelings of hurt and resentment linger. Muslim extremists Claim to Love God, [Allah] Yet they do not know God or his Love. / The Church throughout History have massacred millions of people all in the name of the God whom they confess to love. At the Alter, men and woman take their marriage vows before God and the congregation. They promise to LOVE, honour and Obey each other. / Yet a little later in their marriage, they part for many reasons. But one reason I believe stands out more than any other and that is, They have not known real Love. The excitement of the intimate times of sharing each others bodies has become not so exciting anymore. The respect and Patience they ones had for each other has almost died. Some look for this in anothers whom they often call LOVERS. But True Love really never dies. / If they had real love before they married, If they had known what Real Love is, and the giver of real Love, Many today would still be together, and Children would not be caught up in the hurt. A NOTE ON MARRIAGE. Marriage is an institution created by God. It is a Holy Union where two people join together as one and pledge their lives to each other. Its not something to go through to satisfy man made laws. It is certainly not something to go through so as to have a big day and invite lots of friends and family. It is much more that this. Marriage is something more important that this. Although these qualities can make a wonderful day to be remembered, it is Much, Much more than all this. Marriage is a Holy union between a man and a woman. But before you can enter into this union with each other and God, You must first Know God. You need a relationship with God, and to Understand His Love. You need to experience his Love in your heart, and understand How God Loves. What Depths God went to show you his love and the cost to him. / When you have been touched by the God Love, then you will truly know What Love Is. Love is Power! When a man and a woman who have received Jesus Christ into their lives and made him their first love Stand before their God, They stand before him with Jesus Love in their Hearts. / *, speaks of the Born again person. God has spread his love abroad in your heart by Christ Jesus his son. So now you have His Love in you. This cannot be said of those who do not know God or has not personally Acknowledged Jesus as their saviour and Lord. NOTE. In spite of many not knowing God personally and his Love, when they take Holy Vows, God still Loves them and often Blesses that union, with Grace and Peace. Often this Couple find God and his love through Marriage. I am not saying here that all marriages are doomed, because people were ignorant to God and his Love. He is a God of Supreme Love. HOW DO I LOVE?. (Deuteronomy 10:12). And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. This was the Old Testament commandment given by God to his people. To Love God with all your heart and with all thy soul. But man broke this covenant with God. He went after other gods and loved himself and the ungodly pleasures more that God. He chose hate, war, material riches and to love himself and others more than God. So Man broke this covenant. / Nothing much has changed today as we look around us. But Something has changed that has changed the lives of countless peoples all over the world. God sent His Son into the world. Man Cannot love God or each other in the way God wants them to. it’s the same with Salvation. You cannot earn it, or work for it. It is a Gift from God. You cannot Live by Gods word without having The Holy Spirit living within you, and the acceptance of Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. *You must understand the depth of Gods love for you. You need to understand The Sacrifice God made for you, so you could experience his Love in your Heart. / No living soul can Love with perfect love until Gods Perfect Love has been shed abroad in their hearts. Without Jesus, we cannot know what real Love is. HOW DID GOD REVEAL HIS PERFECT LOVE?. / (1 John 4:8) He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. I need to make it clear here that humans can show Love. It is something God has placed in us all. It is A choice we make. We limit at times our love to others. But what I am talking about in this message is not the human love with its limits. I am talking about perfect Love. [Agape Love-Gods love. Perfect love without limits. / (1 John 4:16) And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. / John 3:16-17 / (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. / (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. Because of Gods perfect love towards us, he sent his son, Jesus, to take our sins, sicknesses and diseases upon himself, and be punished in our stead, so that through his death and resurrection, he could place his Love in our heart. To all who receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, they are born again. A new creation 2 Corinthians 5:17. All their past sins have been washed away in the blood Jesus shed, as an atonement for sin. The Moment you ask Jesus into your heart, you receive his forgiveness, and GODS PERFECT LOVE. As You continue to follow him, read his words, pray and trust him, his love grows inside you. It will empower you to love, those who speak all manner of evil against you, those to lie about you, those who have abused you and hurt you. Instead of hatred and bitterness you will desire that Jesus will save and change them as he did you. You will find yourself praying in tears and overwhelming love for them. Even God himself has said to you in JOB 22:30. “I will change all those for whom you intercede” [Amplified Bible]. When you are tired and run out of steam, you will find yourself compelled by Gods Perfect love, to going that extra mile to help someone in need! When a Son, Daughter, husband, wife, friend or anyone hurts you, you will not retaliate with bitter wounding words, because God Loves them and his love in you will indeed empower you to be silent and pray in your heart, knowing that God will bring a change in their lives just like he promised you in Job 22:30 [Amp bible]. LOVE IS. / 1. Pure and unselfish. It never seeks its own comfort or pleasure. 2. Love is kind and compassionate. 3. Love is patient and longsuffering. 4. Love is Considerate and Merciful. / 5. Love is warm and never cold. 6. Perfect love is God, For God is the author of Love. When God Allowed his son to be tied to a beating post, and receive the lashes of cruel whips. It was Love for you. When he experienced every sickness and disease upon his body it was so that you can be free from all sickness and disease. It was Because he loves you and wants you to be healthy. When they plucked the hairs from Jesus face, when they spate upon him, mocked him and punched him, he endured it because he loved you with perfect love. When They laid him down upon a cross and drove nails into his hands and feet, It was because he loved you. / When they lifted him up on that cross and he hung ther nine hours it was because he truly loved you and he know that he must pay te price for your salvation. He did not want you to be punished for the sin in your life so he in love took your punishment. THIS IS LOVE!. Yes my Friend, THIS IS LOVE!. It Was Love that took Jesus to the cross. It was Love that held him there and not nails. It was love that satan desired to kill, but he failed. Because Love rose from the grave and now that Same Love lives in your heart. THIS IS LOVE! Until you have this love sown in your heart by receiving Jesus as your Lord, You will never know how to love Gods way. I will close with the words of an old hymn. “O love that will not let me go, I give you back the life I owe, / That it might Richer, fuller be”. Receive Jesus today and learn to love Gods way. This message is inspired by a piece of art created by longball a great artist on Redbubble. IT IS FINISHED. Have you ever spent time and considered the last words of Christ when he was on the cross? What did he mean when he said it is finished? What did he achieve for all mankind? I want to share with you some deep truths and thoughts on the last words of Our Lord on the cross. It is my prayer that as you read, the Holy Spirit will grant you revelation Knowledge so that you to fully understand and comprehend this cry “It is Finished”. Matthew 26: 36-42. [In the garden of Gethsemane]. Before I explain the deep truths recorded in the last words of Jesus on the cross, let us go back a little to the garden of Gethsemane. The writer plainly states that Jesus was heavy in spirit. He was sad and heavily laden with cares. So he went to prey to his father. He know only to well what lay before him and he prayed these words. / “O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done”. / Jesus, before he could finish his work here on earth knew the price he would pay. But what caused him to be so heavy with fear that angels came and ministered to him? Why did he cry out with these words, He asked his father to spare him the suffering that lay before him. Yet he knew that it was necessary for him to suffer and become the sacrificial lamb. This cry was not borne from the fact he knew the beating post lay before him. You see Jesus Knew that they would tie him to a beating post and there he would be cruelly whipped. / (Psalms 129:3) The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. / He knew that there at that beating post every stripe they lay upon him was the price he would pay for our healing. Understand this, He experienced in his body fully every disease that has been or ever will be. He felt the pains of Cancer as it ate away at his flesh. He cried as the crushing blow of heart disease reeked through his body. Blood diseases, Sicknesses of every kind. He actually experienced them all so we by his stripes can now be healed. He paid the price for our healing. Many had experience the beating post before him and after him. What was different about Jesus was that he took every sickness and disease upon himself. He pained and wreathed in agony for your right to divine health. But it was not the beating post that made him ask his father to remove it before him. / It was not the fact that he knew they would spit on him and pull the very hair from his beautiful cheeks. It was not the fact that they would drive nails deep into his hands and feet, nor was it the fact that he knew they would mock and revile him, strip him naked and place a crown of Jerusalem thorns upon his head. What was it that Jesus feared the most and asked his father to remove?. My Friend, in spite of all these terrible cruelties that lay before him, there was one thing Jesus feared more than all this. THAT WAS SERERATION FROM HIS LOVING FATHER. He was with God from the beginning of time. He never was separated from his Father before. But he knew that God is Holy and that he would not look on sin. Jesus knew what price he would pay for our redemption. [Separation from God]. Just as sin separates all people from God, so he to would be separated and experience the vast void between man and his creator. Jesus Would become a curse. / (Galatians 3:13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. He would become sin. / (2 Corinthians 5:21) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. / Just before Jesus Cried out “IT IS FINISHED” he cried another heart rending cry. (Mark 15:34) And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?. My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? / At this point The Father turned away from His dying son Jesus. Total serration took place. At this point Jesus was alone on the cross, and in his own words forsaken. What Sorry and terrible misery he went through was nothing compared with separation from his Fathers presence and his love. Now there was no one to strengthen him, no angels to comfort him and no Fathers loving arms to secure him. Alone and abandoned, Yet he cries in deep love towards his Father, My God, My God. Although separated he still loved his father. A son cries out to his father My God, My God! / After this he died. Friends when Jesus cried out “It is finished”, He paid in full the penalty of sins punishment. He alone was the only one that was counted worthy to do this. Angels were not worthy, only Gods beloved son. He did it all for you. If you were the only person in the word he would have done it for you. / That’s why I always tell people that, “There is a place in Gods heart for you, and only to can take that place”. He finished his work. He paid the price and now all men can be saved from Punishment, of sin and an eternity of suffering. He has now made all those who have received him as Lord and Saviour, Sons of God. Children of the most high, New creations, Yes Born again. Cor 5:17. His Blood not only washes away your sins, But because at the whipping post he took your sicknesses and deseases, He has saved you and healed you, If you are indeed born again. It does not stop there my Friend. As a child of god he has brought you into his Fathers inheritance! He has given you the legal right to Health and Prosperity. As He sis so are we in this world. *1 John 4:17. He has made you a King and Priest. Rev 1:6. You are more than a conqueror. He Lives in you, You reign with him. Because he lives you to live. For in him we have all. * (Acts 17:28) For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Jesus has secured all for us. If you have not received Jesus as Lord and Saviour, Please do so now. Just talk to him. Pray this Prayer, from your heart and He will forgive you and save you. He will live inside you. You will experience Love like no other love. You will hear him as he speaks to you through his word and Spirit. Prayer. Lord Jesus, I believe in you. I believe that you died for me, that You took my punishment on the cross, and that If I ask you to come into my heart you will. Jesus Forgive me as I have sinned. Pardon me, and wash away all my wrongs and sins. Come into my heart now. Open my eyes to who you really are and make yourself real to me. I surrender my life to you Jesus. Fill me with your life and make my life beautiful. Heavenly Father I receive Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. Amen. I pray this will indeed shed some light on the words Jesus cried on the cross. IT IS FINISHED*

I have received emails and several bubblemails asking several questions about funding and Poverty in Africa. I will endeavour to answer these questions in this document. I will address these issues raided by Dyle Warren, [SEE DYLE’s AWESOME WORK HER ON REDBUBBLE] DAYLE’S Questions and concerns I believe are the concerns of many so this is his bubblemail. / [I was wondering if you could answer a question about Africa that I have had for years. America and so many countries have come to their aid for decades and all my life Africa has needed help from other nations (CARE, UNICEF, etc.) because of disease and starvation. / Africa is one of the richest nations on Earth why doesn’t this country help themselves and tap into their own resources instead of having their hands out all the time? Don’t get me wrong, I am not trying to cause an argument but for the life of me I’ve never been able to understand this and they have had children starving for years. / Possibly you can enlighten me because honestly if a country won’t help themselves for decades and decades I find I have less and less sympathy for the country…..not the children. / Looking forward to your answer as I’ve never heard an answer for it… / Thanks, / Dyle] THE NEED TO HELP, AND WHY WE HELP. / The need for UNICEF, UNHCR, CARE and other organizations to help African countries is as Follows. These are only a few. / 1. Sickness and disease is killing millions each year. Famine, War and son on. / 2. African countries do not have the facilities or indeed the knowledge in some cases to better themselves. / 3. In certain African countries, Government does not have the money or the solutions to solve the problems. / These are only a few reasons why. Other reasons why US, UK and other countries contribute towards these countries is because other countries have a vested interest in gaining from these countries vast oil reserves, Gold, and other precious commodities, in return for humanitarian relief. Sadly world politics plays a part in who we help and how we help, and also what we get in return. WHY DO THESE RICH AFRICAN COUNTRIES NOT USE THEIR VAST WEALTH TO HELP THEMSELVES? / Many do invest in their countries infrastructure, economic growth and world trade. Nigeria, Uganda South Africa are just a few that do that. The problem is they often invest in oil production, gold, diamonds and other natural wealth. But Corruption, greed and favouritism among government officials have damaged this effort and much of the wealth goes into projects that do not help the suffering and extreme poor. War Disputes and other challenges have often marred good work. / Just like American or British members of Government, many loose touch with the real suffering of ordinary people, especially in deep rural and isolated villages. These members of Government are well paid and live comfortable lives. Few have ever experienced what it is like to have no food, or no hope of growing enough food. Most have never felt the pain of a mother watching her baby die, because she could not find enough food to eat, and her breast milk has dried up. / They have never lived in rural villages where the water they drink causes people to go blind, and others die in agony from intestinal worms. / They have not seen crippled children crawl on their bellies, because of diseases that could have been prevented. Many Government officials live in luxury, drive in government vehicles and fly first class, all paid by tax payers. Not all have lost touch, and do hear the cry of the suffering people within their borders. Others do care and know only to well the sufferings, but they are often discouraged and pressurised by senior members. / Loose and foolish words, years of tribal conflicts and cruel wars have all played a part in hindering their efforts in sharing that countries wealth with all its citizens. / I may seem very harsh here, but I have spent years working among the African countries, and experienced first hand corruption and self cantered projects. But in saying this, there are good People serving their people as best they can. / UNICEF, UNHCR and other World Governments have done tremendous work in Africa. Uganda used to be the most corrupt government in all Africa. This was a well known fact among NGO’s GOVERNMENTS and some smaller organisations. Now through Western Government intervention and help, Uganda is a thriving country. It’s Government has become stable and corruption has almost died. This has happened through United states, united Kingdom, DUTCH and other countries intervention. It still ahs a way to go yet, to reach its goals, but a great change has taken place. / Kenya is another African country riddled with corruption, yet it is changing through UNHCR, UNICEF and Western government intervention and pressure. So in short we do well. / STILL NEED FOR BETTER OVERSEA’S POLICIES. / One of the worst problems within western governments is its lack of wisdom and common sense. / Even today, American, British and other countries give Billions of dollars to African countries, via that African countries government. Here is the problem. Many spend the money on Business, and better world trade. But most do not invest in its people. While they spend millions on better roads and better airports, plus its military and other cosmetic projects, whole villages are wiped out through sickness and disease, Poverty. It is time for the western rich nations to look at better ways of funding the relief of suffering in Africa. Tighter rules need to be implemented and restrictions on how much they can spend on military budgets and Government officials salaries. / So you see there are a whole mixture of reasons why some African countries cannot or won’t give more of what they get from the rich west towards the ordinary people living in dire poverty. God Bless those who are honest and do what they can top alleviate the suffering. One of my biggest criticisms is the huge overheads and over exaggerated costs of SOME, not all of the big CHARITIES, NGO’s and well known relief organisations. What they need to remember is that most of their money is donated by businesses, and Ordinary people like you and I. They have no money of their own. It comes from Government grants , individuals and just ordinary people like us. Yet many receive over exaggerated salaries, and misuse the funds they have. UNHCR and others have donated 4 Wheel drives vehicles to many small grass root organisations, that do not need them, and use them for their own personal use. I speak from experience her, and have seen this for years. This is all money Tax payers have paid. Governments have used money for the wrong reasons.. Please do not misunderstand me here. I am not in any way saying all big organisations are in anyway like this. But they need to be held accountable to us here in richer countries. Not by fiddling the account books. They need to check on what is happening. The UNITED NATIONS needs to get their act together. They can do much better that what they are doing. Every department within the UN, need to improve. This is why I formed Philadelphia Mission in 1995. I returned from Rwanda and Uganda from Mission work. I wanted a Charity, build up of members who did not get a salary, or expense account. People who would work for the poor out of genuine concern and Love. Members who wanted to work hands on with the poor ,and live among them. This is what we do in Philadelphia Mission. Philadelphia Missions office is a converted room in my home. I don’t even own my home. Our Overheads are almost zero. All office equipment and materials are purchased and paid for by me and kind people who support our mission. / We use all money raised through donations, via our website, and any money raised through art that is purchased, to provide medicines, tools, machinery, training and projects that empower these people. / When it comes to making donations towards the extreme poor and needy, please choose an organisation where you know your entire donation is actually going to the poor, and where no percentage will be taken out towards that organisations overheads. If you want to cover overhead costs of an organisation, please ask to see the budget of what they received over several years, then look at the running costs and balance out for yourself if that organisation is using your money correctly. I do hope this will answer some of your questions. / PLEASE DO VISIT OUR AFRICA MISSION WEBSITE. / I have received emails and several bubblemails asking several questions about funding and Poverty in Africa. I just started doing “tweets”. You can find me as MichaelArm at www.twitter.com What is all this twitter talk about? Well, I just started my “tweets” a week or so ago. A friend of mine (Tyler Franks) suggested it as a mechanism for tidbit notes for an eventual reference source for your very own book. I liked the sound of that and decided to ‘jump on the bandwagon’. I am now finding myself thinking of what “tweet” I shall announce each day. It can be random or it can be something everyone can learn from. A “tweet” is simply text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length on ‘whatever subject’ you are doing or thinking at that given moment. Give it a try…it will re-AWAKEN you. :) / Hugs, / Michael

Greetings precious Friends. I am so excited and blessed, so this is just an update, as I must share what the Lord is doing. Over the last 2 weeks god has and is building an army of precious people like you who are moved and led by his Holy Spirit to Pray for me, the October Mission and the extreme poor and sick villagers in Africa. God hears you and is answering your Prayers. Praise God!. Bubblemails are coming in fast and I am deeply humbled by those who have said they are praying for me na dthe work of our Lord. One sister touched me so much. She explained that she was crying as she looked at the Photographs of the hungry and suffering people the Lord has called me to help. Then she said and I Quite: I have no money to sow into this work, as I am poor, But I will Pray that The Lord will bless you with many who has and that all the money needed will be provided, I know My Lord and He always anserd my Prayers”. Sister the Lord will Prosper you as you intercede for me and the poor. Another Sister wrote and said she to is deeply touched by the lord as she looks at the Photographs, and explained that her two sons and her Son in law are Doctors. She asked me if It was better to donate drugs for treatment, or to make a financial donation. I explained that It was much better to make a donation, as we can purchase the drugs cheaply in Abuja. Also we have had real problems with customs and government when we had a shippment sent out before. corruption and greed took almost half our supply. So We now purchase them from aChristian Pharmacy in Abuja. A Brother from New york has just made a donation of $5000 towards the Tractor. Praise God. A sister has mad e several donations over the past two months. GOD IS HEARING AND ANSWERING YOUR PRAYERS. We have has challanges with muslim extremists and our small mission centre was attacked last Friday. our Staff were very frightened. But God stepped in. Our Muslim Neigbours and new converts beat them away and that evening around 100 Muslims joined our evening prayer service!!!! I am invited to meet the emran and other leaders when I attend in October. last Time many were saved and many were healed, including a 2 year old girl, dying from Malaria. Keep on praying and sowing seed into this mighty work of God. I thank you for your support, Finance and Prayers. Please Please Please, do not feel bad if you cannot sow a financial seed into the mission. God see’s and understands. He will meet your needs and you will see for yourself, that you will have a great supernatural Provision from the hand of God. I love you all and wish I could give you all a big Hug and a Holy Kiss. Your broter in Christ and Friend. Trevor. Mission Website: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/

Hapy to announce it…. just to show it… and share it… “Sun’sTears Window” has been featured in ABSTRACT DIGITAL ART AND WRITING / From the core of my heart.. / thank you very much… it is a honor. / Rosa Because the sun is slidding down.. / and lubricating the horizon with lust… / Because I have cleaned the Soul’s Rooms., / and prepared the seats for new visitors. / Because I once… licked my fingers, / beleiving that… stretching them / into the sunset… / was like dipping my body into hot honey… / Because….I have dreamt that the sun could cry, / for my eyes burn and hurt when myself crying. / Because light can be solid… rolling….bubbling…. / illusions of shadows and creating untouchable beings. / Because….. a tidal of Heaven’s dreams… / are moving from an Eternal Eye. / I am here…. / Strangely isolated… / strangely dry….. / Butterfly of hidden desires. / Wide awake…. / at the break of a night promising a richer Life. / I am there.. / Witnessing the perfect silence… / Light can sound.. / and beleive me… / I have passed my fingertips.. / along the border of the star… / and it was cold…. / while my imagining / was playing billiards… / with the Sun’s Tears.. / with my own inner vision… / almost half blind. / Rosa Cobos © Copyright Rosa Cobos 2009 . My prose piece, “NATURAL ELEMENTS”, is featured today in the Southern Style: A Down Home Perspective group! How exciting to have my writing featured. I tend to focus more on my art most of the time, so when my writing gets some attention, it’s wonderful. :) Thank you to the group for featuring my writing! Came across this somewhere. How motivating! Just what I needed on a day like today :) “A man found a cocoon of a butterfly, that he brought home. One day a small opening appeared he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours. It struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily, but, it had a swollen body and small, shrivelled wings. He continued to watch the butterfly, he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and the body would contract. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shrivelled wings. It was never able to fly. The man acted with well-intentioned kindness but he didn’t understand the consequences. The restricting cocoon and the struggle required to get through the tiny opening, were nature’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon. Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life. If we were to go through life without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as we could have been and we could never fly So the next time you are faced with an obstacle, / a challenge, or a problem, remember the butterfly. / Struggle a little – then fly! “
