I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

He is one of two rare white and 3 black Ravens born to 2 accepting (black) parents. The two rare birds are not albino which is what makes them so unusual. Their eyes are quite blue. All 5 siblings are getting along extremely well and all are thriving. White Ravens are very rare and hold sacred meaning for many groups and cultures throughout the World, including Native American Indian, Celtic, Norse and Wiccans. This artwork is another tribute to these remarkably intelligent and friendly birds. 50% proceeds from all sales go to the Mountainaire Avian Society in the beautiful Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. / Journey of a Thousand Thoughts / the drawing prior to photoshopping I drew this last night in bed….with a sketch pad on my lap, by a lowlit lamp…..the eyes came first, as usual…....then the rest…...until i had but a head…..and no room for a body…... I thought what can I add to make this more about me, more interesting….then i remembered the beautiful hot air balloons I’d seen recently photographed by my friend Steven Agius and a while ago some other balloons taken by my friend Jeannette Sheehy and I thought it would make a great balloon….drifting away through the atmosphere, deep in thought….that’s how i often find myself…semi self portrait Drawn with pencil on A3 acid free cartridge paper. / Coloured in photoshop

Remember the saying: Red Sky at Night; Shepherd’s Delight / Red Sky in the Morning, Shepherd’s Warning! One of the most persistent of the weather sayings used by sailors as well as shepherds. There were no weather forecasts, as such in the days gone by, and one had to make their own predictions. This is a loose watercolour 8×10”painted with two colours only Red and Green (Cadmium Red and Sap Green) and also mxing the two together to produce darker colours.
