Oil Pastel and Acrylic (With minor digital enhancements) For all the troubled souls out there, Ophelia wishes that you a pleasant sweet good night’s sleep and rest soon :D In times like these with many suffering from economic and job woes, there are people losing sleep over the lack of certainty of their futures….some of these are my close friends….a good night’s rest has become such a rare commodity for them. This started off as an encouragment card, send this card to someone who hasnt been getting restful sleep lately due to all the preoccupations with his/her woes. Insomnia The moon in the bureau mirror / looks out a million miles / (and perhaps with pride at herself, / but she never, never smiles) / far and away beyond sleep, or / perhaps she’s a daytime sleeper. By the Universe deserted, / she’d tell it to go to hell, / and she’d find a body of water, / or a mirror, on which to dwell. / So wrap up care in a cobweb / and drop it down the well into that world inverted / where left is always right, / where the shadows are really the body, / where we stay awake all night, / where the heavens are shallow as the sea / is now deep, and you love me. —Elizabeth Bishop

Some mornings I wake early and can’t sleep. It used to annoy me. Now I take the opportunity to arise predawn and go to the beach in the best part of the day. / Mt Cameron from Green Point, Marrawah, NW Tasmania.
