Bewitched She picks boughs of magnolia from the tree in her garden and brings them to me in her fist as though she’s bringing me blooms of her heart to plant as my own. She takes a day off work, treats herself to a drive in the country and leaves 50’s starlet fiction and bites of toffee treacle honey sugar on my doorstep before ringing the bell and skipping away. She reads the language of my face. She paints the clouds with a thousand different reminders, then captures them in a butterfly net and pins them to my wall. She’s the ink and words from a Golden Book come to life. She plays the Mad Hatter so I can play Alice. She knows about the hidden debris, the mess, the harrowed whispers you don’t ever say out loud. Some “handwritten” letters do have that sort of impact. It can stay ‘within’ you. / I have this transparent folder that I bought in Japan…the handwritten paperwork was visible…I did some editing to eventually create this. :)

This is probably the MOST personal thing I have ever done, and emotionally this has been a murder of the soft spoken, try to blend in, don’t attract attention, be still and she will go away side of me. I was up all night creating this image and I finished the poem this morning. This is the beginning of my exorcism where the pain and hurt have grown and festered for many years. I had to watch the murder of my meek side in order to find the strength to move forward. Marker and watercolour pencil on 220gsm paper The first Russian nesting doll (matryoshka) was born in 1890 in the workshop “Children’s Education” situated in Abramtsevo estate new Moscow. The owner of Abramtsevo was Sava Mamontov – industrialist and a patron of the arts. Matryoshkas, or nested dolls, are classic Russian sets of dolls with decreasing sizes, placed one inside the other. Nope never had a home page. (But these 4 made Art News in Inside Solo!) Never had one of these, either: / ... like Robin had this last week. Nope never had Featured Writing (Robin’s feature made Art News in Inside Solo, too!) / BUT, I’ve been very grateful for my 12 features this month in: About Time, Textures Unlimited, Fantasy Fine Art Composites, Dimensions, Digital Brushstrokes, Pathway to the Soul, Inspired by Life, Core [C.O.R.E], and The Divine Feminine. The Choice These rewarding features from wonderful hosts, despite my having uploaded a paltry 4 images to Red Bubble this month. Yes, my art is suffering for lack of time.
