  • Kendo, the way of the sword, is an ancient Japanese martial art that many people around the world practice today. Over time, the martial art has also developed a sporting aspect to it and regular competitions exist around the world for enthusiasts to participate in. When a Kendoka (a person who practices Kendo) puts on their Men (the helmet), they prepare themselves for the task ahead, either in training or to fight. This calendar is a collection of images taken during the first Sydney Kendo Club Friendship Cup, held in 2009, with some of the faces and expressions of those wearing their Men, before or after their matches.
